Chapter 1

"Where are you going Twilight?" Spike asked when he noticed a line of books fly into a small bag and Twilight looking around the room for more books to add to her bag, how did she even manage to fit all those books in there? When the purple mare didn't respond Spike had poked her (rather hard) to get her attention, causing her to flinch a bit and turn to Spike.

"Spike! Don't scare me like that!" She yelled then turned back to her book line.

"I wanted to know where you're going" Spike asked again.

"Pinkie invited us to see the firework show later tonight" she said without even turning to look at the dragon, "Spike I need you to find 'The Complete Guide to Star Formations,' I'll need it for when the fireworks are over," she levitated a book towards her, examined it, then placed it inside her bag as she went to the next book, she had a pattern going.

Spike scanned the room for the book, he doesn't remember where the book is placed but he knew the book was big and the cover was purple, he saw the book on the 6th shelf but it was out of his reach.

"Hey Twilight it's over here" said spike, unfortunately Twilight was too wrapped up in her book checking pattern to hear him. Sighing, he grabbed the closest chair and stood on it for leverage.

Nope. Still out of reach. He then grabbed another chair and placed it on top of the first chair, standing on top of the chairs and extending his hand, he was barely out of reach. He added one more chair and reached as far as he could, the tips of his fingers scraping the edge of the book as he fought to maintain balance on the chairs.

"Almost... got... it…" he said lightly, then without thinking, he jumped up and quickly grabbed the book. When he landed his chairs gently rocked back and forth, "please don't please don't please don't" spike repeated to himself, but slowly the chairs halted.

"What in tarnation do you think ya'll are doing?" yelled a familiar voice below causing Spike to jump from the scare and off of his chairs. Lucky for him he landed on a (not so soft) pile of books below. When he dug himself out of the books he saw Applejack standing in front of him.

"Hey Applejack" Spike said, his arm holding on to the book, somehow he managed to hold on to it when he landed. "I was grabbing a book for Twilight" he then added. Applejack looked at Spike confusingly, all that trouble for a book?

"Applejack, when did you get here?" Twilight asked but then noticed the book Spike was holding, she then levitated it to her, looked at it carefully, then said a quick "thank you" to spike as she stuffed it into her bag, "I got all I need, are you all set to go?" she said as she tried in vain to lift her heavy bag.

"Yup! I packed me some of Granny Smith's Famous Apple Pie incase ya'll get hungry" said Applejack as she easily lifted up the bag Twilight was trying to lift, earning a surprised look from Twilight. "We better hurry, reckon you don't want to show up late Twilight," Applejack said, heading for the door. Twilight followed Applejack but then turned to Spike when he didn't follow.

"Aren't you coming?" asked Twilight.

Spike looked at Twilight confusingly, "don't you want me to stay and clean the library while you're gone?" he responded, that's what he usually did anyway, he didn't mind of course.

"Spike, the princess is coming for this and all our friends are going to be there, including you," she said with a smile, earning a smile back from Spike.

"Alright!" he yelled excitedly as he closed the door behind him and caught up to Twilight, he will worry about cleaning up the library later.

Luna just stared at the beautiful night she had created, something about the way she had arranged the stars had her worried, they weren't any normal patterns she normally used, it was as is her night was trying to tell her something but she doesn't understand it yet.

"Well if it isn't LuLu" a voice said from behind, Luna turned and saw a goat, a bear paw, and a griffin claw.

"Discord, what brings you to our chamber this night?" she asked the chaotic creature, then a devilish grin formed on his face.

"I've come to take over equestrian and I decided to take out the Moon Goddess first!" he announced as he slowly floated towards Luna with an evil smile on his face, Luna's expression didn't change, in fact she looked bored, Discord sighed disappointedly, "I was wondering where did Sunbutt and DullShield go."

"Tia and Shining Armor went to see the firework with the bearers of harmony," Luna said, turning back to her night, she then heard Discord sigh.

"Who is going to view my chaos now?" he whined knowing well he couldn't pester Luna, he learned long ago that Luna couldn't take a joke, his wings still had the scars from before. Discord noticed how intensely she was looking at the sky, then floated next to her.

"Whatcha looking for LuLu?" he asked as he summoned pair of binoculars and sat down on a floating chair.

"Answers" she said simply but then noticed the draconequus raise an eyebrow, "my night is showing me signs but I cannot figure out what they are," she clarified. Discord then looked up at the sky and his eyes scanned all the patterns, suddenly he stopped on one of the patterns.

"That one is my favorite," he said simply as he pointed to one group of stars, Luna responded with a confused look, "That pattern showed up all those years ago, when I had my epiphany.

"You mean when you started your chaos reign?" she asked, she could still remember those years well, it wasn't too long before she was corrupted by Nightmare Moon.

"Yep, those were my glory days, I didn't have any concerns nor rivals, nobody held me back and I was free to spread as much chaos as I wanted too," he said with a smile, he looked like he was having flashbacks.

"We don't remember making that formation, and it doesn't seem to resemble anything we made before," Luna said, the draconequus shrugged as a glass of water appeared in front of him for him to drink.

"I'm heading to Ponyville, maybe my good friend Fluttershy will appreciate my chaos," he said as he snapped his fingers and vanished, leaving Luna alone in her thoughts. Luna was now questioning her night even more, did this mean Discord would have another epiphany, or would he start another chaos reign, maybe this doesn't have anything to do with Discord, maybe somepony somewhere would start a new era, but Luna at least knew one thing, some changes are coming, for better or for worst, which frightened her.

It's been a while since I've seen MLP, please forgive me if I got anything wrong. For some weird reason I can't figure out how would Applejack say thing, I just hope I can get her personality right. I'm fairly new to this so feel free to make suggestions or to point out errors. I hope I get far with this :D
