yoo today was a snowday today so yey i got to work on more robrae for you all. :) Enjoy!
Raven crossed her arms, as she leaned against the wall, not too far from Robin. She did not look happy.
"Robin..." She let out a sigh, as she squeezed her eyes shut for a moment to gather herself. She rubbed the bridge of her nose in stress, as she shook her head. Then she looked back up at the bird, who didn't look any more happier than she was. He looked away, to avoid her gaze. "Are you really sure you want to do this?" She needed confirmation.
He looked back over to her, but felt himself looking back to the ground in embarrassment. He gave a soft shrug, but nodded. Finding enough courage, he finally looked up to her stern gaze, his own eyebrows curving upwards. "Yes... I'm tired of hiding our relationship." He said rather quietly. The two had been going out for quite a while now-almost a year, but with the joys of this relationship, came one little problem: for as long as they were together, they had kept it a secret.
Only for it to have some light finally shed upon it, and today would be the day to finally confess to the rest of the team members. All the late night kisses and cuddles, almost sleeping in too late with each other-for the past few months now, the others had been rather suspicious of how kind the two birds acted towards each other. The way they acted crossed way past a normal friendship, Cyborg had gathered. The two birds couldn't count all the close calls they had within the past few months. While they thought they were being stealthy and quiet about it, there were times where Beast Boy would walk in on the two embracing, or 'talking' too long in privacy. He could see the way they looked at each other, and it was way beyond how he would have thought two friends looked at each other-surpassed the way he would have glanced at Cyborg.
Yes, they were onto them.
The problem wasn't Cyborg and Beastboy, though. No, while they were in suspicion, the real problem here was Starfire.
She was still way in the dark about their relationship, and still seemed so oblivious about the whole thing.
And while the two love birds were sort of happy, it was still stressful. They both knew how much of a crush Starfire had on Robin still, and knew just how much it would hurt her to find out the two were together now. They could only be glad their other two team mates hadn't spilled anything to her, or there would be a good chance they both would have gotten snapped on, if not now, but a long time ago.
Raven let out another sigh. "I don't want to hurt Star, though." She admitted silently. Deny as she might, she really did care about the alien. She was the closest thing she had to a girl friend. She was not oblivious to the fact that the girl still liked Robin, but she had never had the courage to tell her that her feelings weren't returned, because, well, Robin was already with Raven. So, guiltily, the two of them both let their relationship be in the dark. Starfire would shower Robin in affection, while the boy wonder would try not to let it go to far beyond a hug or too. Raven could only hide away the urge to tell her off. She wanted to hug Robin in public without it being taken out of context, but it was hard.
"I know." Robin nodded. "But we have to." Agree as he might, this couldn't go on any further.
Raven scrunched her eyebrows together. "You know she likes you. Right? Can you only imagine how much this would hurt her?" She was rambling now.
Robin took a step forward, to place a hand on her shoulder. She glanced up to him, into his stern, but gentle gaze. He nodded. "That's just a risk we'll have to take, Rae." He glanced away. "I don't want to hurt her, either, but... I'm also tired of keeping our relationship a secret. I love you, and I want to be able to show that in public without it being weird."
Raven let out a last sigh, as she leaned forward to rest her head on his shoulder. "You're right, I know. I... love you too. I want this, just as much as you do." She admitted, and moved a little closer to gently wrap her arms around his waist. He smiled, and put his hands on her hips, to pull her closer, and held her softly against him, in a re-assuring hug.
"It'll be fine, don't worry." He whispered, and pressed his lips against her forehead. He could feel her stir beneath him, but he knew she was smiling. "I hope you're right."
Not too long after, the two titans made their way into the living room. To their luck, the other three were already assembled. Cyborg and Beastboy were playing games, and Starfire cheered the two on, per usual.
Robin and Raven exchanged a glance, and nodded. Robin put a hand on her shoulder, giving a squeeze of support, before dropping his arm. The two walked further into the living space, and Robin cleared his throat.
Without saying a word, Starfire was the first to sense his presence, and turned to face the two. A smile broke out onto her face, her eyes gleaming. "Robin!" She cried out in joy, floating over to him to wrap him in a tight hug. He just laughed nervously, keeping his hands by his side. "Hey, Star..." Raven glanced down to the ground, to conceal her slight jealousy. Still giggling, Starfire detached herself from Robin, and then pulled Raven into a hug. "Friend, Raven!" She squealed, cuddling the empath while she squirmed in her tight grip.
She could see Cybrog and Beast Boy exchange a glance, before glaring at the two birds. And she knew. She could sense they were onto them again, as if the air had changed around the whole team. Oh well, at least today they wouldn't have to be suspicious, anymore. The truth was about to come out.
Robin cleared his throat again. "We-I, uh..." He stuttered, trying to hide his blush. He had already slipped up this far, and he could feel his bravado slipping away. Starfire pulled away, to join the other two boys back on the couch. The three of them only looked on in curiosity. Cyborg grinned, however, seeing Robin so embarrassed, just making him feel all the more self conscious.
Robin cleared his throat again, forcing himself to look through the titans, especially ignoring Cyborg's cheeky grin. "I... have something to announce." He said in a confident, booming voice, then.
Starfire tilted her head. "What is it, friend Robin?" She wondered, while Beast Boy laughed. "Yeah, what is it?" He encouraged.
Robin sighed internally, feeling the sweat start to build.
"Well... actually... this is going to come out as a rather personal matter, however so, it needs to be addressed." He started. He gave a quick glance to Raven, and then back to his team mates. Cyborg was grinning wider. He knew. Never the less, Robin cleared his throat again. "Me... and Raven... are, well, together." He spat the last part out, and quickly looked away.
It went quiet.
Cyborg and Beast Boy collectively looked up to Starfire, to see that she was perfectly still. They both knew how much she liked Robin-heck, everybody knew! Everybody from Titans East, to the honorary titans-heck, even Jinx could spot it out, and she hadn't been a part of the Titans for too long.
'I told you this was a bad idea!' Raven could hear Robin's inner turmoil through their bond, and she squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the worst to come.
"Robin..." Starfire's voice was quiet, and rather icy. Her eyes began to glow green, and locks of her crimson hair swirled around her as she floated into the air. Robin braced himself, as the other two titan boys gasped behind her. Clenching her teeth together, Starfire shot herself at Robin, getting all in his face. Raven wanted to do something-but she hesitated. "Star-" She protested, but the alien's fury seemed to grow, and it appeared she wasn't listening to the empath.
"How dare you not tell me sooner!" She snapped, giving him a hard poke in the chest. Raven and Robin collectively gasped-what? Starfire scrunched her eyebrows together, as she then clutched at Robin's shirt, digging deep into the fabric to pull him closer to her-their noses touched. "You... you...! You better treat Raven right, then! Or I swear, by the grace of X'Hal that... that I will not be happy." She swore, and the two birds seemed even more confused, as the glow of her eyes dispersed, and she settled down back into a standing stance on normal footing ground.
Even Cyborg and Beast Boy were in awe!
Starfire released Robin, instead crossing her arms. "Got it?!" She spat, and then looked over to Raven, taking a step closer towards her. She flinched, as Starfire then wrapped her arms around her, cuddling her in a rather agressive affection. "If he ever hurts you, please, do tell, and I will deal with it."
Raven blinked. "W-wait... so... you aren't mad that Robin and I are...?"
Starfire pulled away from the empath, to tilt her head in confusion. "Together? Not in the slightest!"
Robin and Raven exchanged a glance, both of their jaws dropping. "But... I thought you liked Robin...?" Raven wondered. Starfire looked slightly guilty in this moment, and she avoided her gaze.
"I did, indeed..." She sighed, and Raven was the one to feel guilty this time. Starfire looked back up to her friends, and a small smile came to her lips. "However, I have realized how much you care for each other. So, I must be happy for you two! I do believe you two look quite nice together." She said with a slight giggle.
Still, Raven could feel her stomach drop. If she knew how okay Starfire would be with this, she would have proposed to Robin that they tell her sooner! "So... you're okay with us, then..." Still, Raven needed confirmation.
Starfire. "Yes, friends. As long as he does not hurt you." She paused. "I do believe I had the suspicions, however." A cheeky grin grew on her face, and Raven could feel her knees grow weak. She and Robin exchanged another glance, as they came together.
"How?" Robin asked.
Starfire just looked behind her, giving the two boys a slight glance. She then let out a laugh, seeing the looks on the birds face. "You... you knew all along? Why didn't you let us know, or something?" Robin wondered.
Starfire just smiled. "Because, you two are my friends. I... as well with Cyborg and Beast Boy figured you would tell when you felt comfortable, enough to do so." She put a hand on both of their shoulders in a re-assuring manner. "Fear not, you have my blessing."
The two let out a collective sigh.
That was all the re-assurance they needed, for one day.
"Thank you, Star." Raven said sincerely, and the alien just grinned, taking both of them into a big hug.
Behind their back, the two exchanged a glance to each other. Robin smiled slightly. "See, that wasn't too bad, was it?" Raven heard him in his mind with their bond.
She smiled back. "I guess not."
