Chapter 1
~ Healing ~
"Do something!" Neville screamed. His hands were coated with blood that was running from the wound. He kept his tears in check; he could not break down now, not now of all moments when it was not needed. Neville covered the bleeding wound with his hands, determined to stop the blood whether he was able to or not.
Luna was besides the Gryffindor and for once, rather than her usual dreamy expression, her eyes were wide with horror and filled to the brim with tears that spilled over with each tremor her body shook. Her right hand cupped her mouth while her left hand was clamped tightly around her waist.
Remus ran over at the sound of Neville's shout and fell onto his knees with sorrow. His hands, matted with flaking blood and sooty ash, were shaking with disbelief. His mouth was wide open in shock – the werewolf was unable to comprehend what was going on.
Sirius had quickly followed afterwards when the cheering had died down instantly at Neville's shout. He skidded onto his knees, not caring that his pants were being ripped apart by debris lying around. He dropped his wand next to him and began resuscitation.
"Come on. Come on. Come on!" He muttered urgently, pushing down on the chest to restart the beating of the heart.
"Severus!" Remus bellowed. "SEVERUS!"
The potions master pushed through the shock stricken crowd and bent down next to the small group. Quickly analyzing the situation, he quietly muttered to them, "We have to leave here. We're making too much of a scene. I do not have the supplies to do this."
"Uncle Snape! Wait!"
Heads turned to see the Malfoy heir running quickly towards the group. No one bothered to mention how unseemly it was that a person of his stature would do such an un-aristocratic thing. Malfoys do not run – no, they did not run at all.
"Ok, let's go." Draco nodded.
They grabbed each other by the arm, finally placing their free hand onto the body before them and disapparated.

"Draco, go straight to my potions cabinet and get the following potions. Meet us back in the guest bedroom." Severus ordered, a list appearing out of thin air in front of the blonde. Draco snatched it and ran into the manor.
"Lupin, Black. Take him straight to the guest bedroom – first door on the right." Remus and Sirius levitated the body, running towards the manor.
"Longbottom, head to the greenhouse and bring back these herbs. Lovegood – "
"I know what to do Professor." The girl whispered, darting towards the entrance of his manor.
Severus followed after them, quickly supplying the extra speed to transfiguring everything in the guest bedroom to fit his needs. Draco had arrived, floating the potions behind him and setting them onto the mayo stand tray before Severus. Neville soon arrived after, placing various herbs onto another mayo stand tray before stepping back. Luna walked back in, gave the potions master a nod and took Draco and Neville by the hand, leading them out of the makeshift hospital room.
The wizard quickly had an IV drip set up and soon had poured two vials of blood replenishing potions into it. Sirius had not stopped giving the body CPR once they entered the room and Remus had to pull the animagus off of the body to allow Severus to do his job. Severus attached a heart beat monitor onto the body, showing him the heart rate was barely there – hovering just a tad over the flat line.
"Severus… will you be okay? With all this –"
"I'll be fine Lupin. I am not that weak to stumble over such an obstacle." Severus hissed, flicking his wand through various spells to perform on the body. The heart rate only got a little bit stronger, but it was as if it were nonexistent.
It was then that Severus knew what he had to do. There was no other way around it; time was slipping away and the wounds would not heal fast enough.
"Get the mutt out of here." Severus ordered, injecting a needle full of morphine into the body.
With Remus's sharp werewolf hearing, he tugged the frantic animagus out of the room before the door was sealed shut and spelled to prevent outside noise and interference.
Severus sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Why is it always you Potter?"
x
"No! I can't leave him like this! Remus let go of me!" Sirius was hysterical. He couldn't leave his godson like that, lying there just mere moments away from his deathbed. No, he couldn't. He had promised Lily and James he would look after the boy and yet, the first thirteen years of Harry's life had been wasted away with him being locked up in Azkaban. And now, with only a couple of years seeing the teen under his belt, Harry was going to be taken from him.
"Sirius. Sirius. It'll be alright. Severus knows what he's doing. He'll save Harry." Remus whispered over and over into Sirius's ear. He could not promise the animagus that Severus would definitely keep Harry alive, but he hoped just hearing that Severus was saving Harry would, at least, keep the animagus from getting frantic once more.
Draco, Neville and Luna didn't know what to do. They could only stare at the door with dead eyes. Their minds were still trying to wrap around the situation – about what had happened just mere moments before Harry had crumpled onto the battlefield.
. . . . . .
Harry watched as Voldemort wasted away; his skin turning into ash and disappearing with a gust of the wind. He stumbled backwards, the lack of magic finally catching up to him. He turned around to see who was left and who was dead. But a sudden jolt had his eyes widening as his emerald green eyes stared into the vast deep blues of his best friend.
He coughed and a trickle of blood dribbled from the corner of his mouth. "R-Ron…?" He stuttered, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
"It is all for the greater good." Ron whispered into Harry's ear, pulling out the knife from Harry's body. A sickening squelch and gushing of blood poured from Harry's wound as Harry fell to his knees and landed onto his back, staring up at the sky.
"HARRY!" Ron was shoved to the side and apprehended by several Aurors. He struggled in their grasp, all the while crying out, "I have done nothing wrong! Unhand me! It's all for the greater good! IT'S ALL FOR THE GREATER GOOD!"
The Aurors disapparated when Head Auror Shacklebolt gave the signal. Shacklebolt walked over to the offending weapon and sent it to the evidence section of his department, leaving it in good hands. The rest of the crowd was cheering; finally, Lord Voldemort was dead. He would never rise again. They were all free to live their lives once more.
But the only people that were not cheering were the ones hovering around the fallen body, lying sickly pale on the floor.
. . . . . . . . .
Severus looked at Harry and pulled out another syringe – one that was slightly bigger than the previous one that was filled with morphine. But this was not filled with any antidote; this was filled with Severus's venom – venom straight from a vampire. Severus knew that with the venom he would be able to save Harry, but with the amount stored inside, he did not know if Harry would turn. He quickly calculated the possibility and quickly injected the venom, watching as the silvery liquid left its container.
Harry's body gave a jolt before stilling. Severus watched as Harry's wounds were closing up and healing, as was needed to keep the boy alive. He heard the boy's heartbeat getting louder and louder – getting stronger and stronger. Severus quickly muttered some spells, cleaning the crusty flakes of dried blood off of the body, changing Harry into cleaner clothes and checking over the status of his unconscious patient. He listened as the blood rushed quickly through the Gryffindor's body, supplied with the Blood Replenishing potion. With the morphine, Severus knew Harry would not be able to feel the effects of his venom, but it was only a matter of time before the venom overcame the morphine, before the boy would feel the venom's effects.
Minutes went by and soon an hour had passed. Harry's heartbeat leveled off into its normal range and speed. Noting the slightly pale complexion of the teenager, Severus would never say that he was glad his venom helped saved the Boy-Who-Lived. Severus filled a quarter of an IV bag with Dreamless Sleep Potion and attached it to Harry before he rubbed Murtlap Essence onto Harry's closed wounds.
Stepping back to examine his work, Severus nodded to himself before rearranging the leftover potions and the untouched herbs in place in case he needed them. Then he cleaned himself up and opened the door, closing it behind him.
"Potter will be fine. He is now resting. And – " He continued, interrupting any questions. "I have given him Dreamless Sleep, so he'll be out for a couple of hours. If he wakes up so soon after such an ordeal, it would be detrimental to his health. Now, I suggest all of you to clean yourself up – the muggle way." His eyebrow rose when Remus pulled out his wand.
"And we'll give him until tomorrow to wake up. For now, all we can do is wait and get some rest. I'll have my house elf bring your food to your rooms. Draco can show you to them."
The blond teen led them away, but Remus was left behind with Sirius – their eyes full of hope. "Thank you Severus." Sirius breathed out. Severus was stunned. Did Black really just thank him?
"We'll talk about this later in the morning." Remus smiled at the potions master before leading a relieved and trembling animagus away to his room.

Harry heard murmurings in the far away distance. It was soft, like a whisper. But when he started to come to, the murmurs got louder and eventually stopped when he rustled his blanket.
Blanket? Harry thought. He heard footsteps arriving at the foot of his bed before the quick murmuring of the usual spells that Madame Pomfrey had used on his over the last couple of years in the infirmary.
He let whomever it was do their work whilst he ran through the memories he recalled.
Voldemort… the final battle… Voldemort lost… We won… Ron and his eyes… RON!
Harry quickly sat up, sucked in a deep breath and fell back onto the mattress groaning. He clasped his side and curled in towards himself. He heard tsking and the usual sneer in the following words that came from his caretaker.
"Acting like a Gryffindor as usual Potter."
Harry opened his eyes and saw Professor Snape in front of him. His eyes widened comically.
"P-Professor?"
"Quite right Potter. Now if you would just keep still, I'll see whether or not you opened your wound just shooting up on the bed." Snape snapped, flicking through the spells once more.
"Professor, what happened? Where are we?"
"We are at 12 Grimmauld Place. Hopefully your wound did not affect your memories." Snape answered snidely.
"Severus healed you when you were injured." Remus explained.
"We were so worried pup." Sirius breathed out, grasping Harry's hand.
"Did… did Ron really…?"
Everyone looked away, even Severus did. Even the potions master understood what betrayal felt like.
Harry's shoulders slumped in depression. He didn't think that his best friend would do such a thing. After spending all those years together, he would've thought they had a solid friendship. Sure Ron may get jealous on certain occasions… and turn his back on Harry more than a handful of times… Wait… this wasn't helping his cause. He thought, sighing sadly.
"And Hermione…?" he whispered, hoping for a good answer though he had a feeling the answer wouldn't be what he wished.
Neville shook his head, giving Harry's shoulder a pat. "I'm sorry Harry."
Harry shook his head. "You have nothing to apologize for. I suppose this is what I get for trusting too easily – did not see what was in front of me."
Luna smiled. "Do not worry Harry. We're all with you, even Draco is here."
Harry looked around, finding the other blonde and nodded his head. "Thanks Draco."
"Anytime Harry. If it wasn't for you, I don't think I would've survived."
"So what do we do now?" Harry asked, as Remus ushered him to lean against the fluffed up pillows. Sirius dutifully gave Harry a potion and relieved the pain where his healing wound was.
"We're leaving Britain. We're heading for America." Luna supplied.
"What?! Why?!"
"There are still some Death Eaters in hiding. It would be beneficial for you to go into hiding until they are all in captivity."
"I don't run away from anything." Harry scowled.
"Not running away." Neville said. "Think of it as rehabilitation in a safer environment."
Harry sighed. There was no way he was in any position to go against all six of them. Even Sirius seemed to give the idea some thought and had nodded his acceptance to the plan.
"Fine. But where in America?"
"Forks, Washington." Luna answered.
Draco's eyebrow rose. "Muggleborns named a city a utensil?" He shook his head. "This is why I knew Muggleborns were strange."
"Would it just be the seven of us?" Harry asked.
"Eight. If you don't mind." Remus answered.
"Eight?"
"Yes… your godson Teddy."
"I would've thought that Tonks – " and Harry's sentence was cut off at the look on Remus's face.
"I'm so sorry Remus." Harry whispered.
"Not to worry Harry. We weren't really married – it was only a pretense. Even Andromeda knows. Tonks carried Teddy for…" he turned to look at Sirius, who was looking nervously between the two of them. "For Sirius and I." Remus finally said.
The two wizards looked anxiously at the teen, waiting for an outburst, a reaction, anything.
Harry just blinked his eyes before smiling. "It is sad to have lost Tonks. She was a great Auror though a bit clumsy at times. But I'm glad you and Sirius are together. Did you really think I would have something against your relationship?"
They sighed in relief and wrapped Harry in a hug. "No cub. But it is best to ask for your approval, even if we don't need it."
"It feels much better to have you know and support our relationship pup." Sirius hummed happily.
"We'll be leaving by portkey in two days' time. So you can heal up and don't faint on us once we arrive."
"Have to buy a house too." Luna giggled, skipping out of the room.
"I heard about those vehicles Father talked about. But I want the newest, the best and the most expensive model out there." Draco thought out loud, following after Luna.
Neville just stared after them before awkwardly making gestures when he realized the rest of them were looking at him. "I – They – I'll just be – Bye!" he raced out of the room.
"I hope moving will give him more courage." Harry smiled. "He did slay Nagini. It was a crucial part in destroying Voldemort forever." His smile grew even wider when the three older wizards tried, with all their might, not to flinch at the Dark Wizard's name. But oh, Harry saw the slightest twitch all right; yes he did.
"Get some rest." Snape ordered, before strolling out of the room with his cloak billowing behind him.
"We'll leave you be Harry." Remus smiled. Sirius hugged Harry one more time before the couple left the room.
"Forks huh? Sounds interesting." He yawned, before giving into sleep.
