A/N: This is my first ever Klaine story so I'm going to keep it a cute one-shot. Season 6 centric.

Come What May

Hearing that song always brought Kurt Hummel to tears. It was the week before Brit and Santana's wedding and he was in a romantic mood ever since Blaine kissed him at Rachel's house. He couldn't for the life of him figure Blaine out. He had said he'd never forgive Kurt for breaking off their engagement, yet, in the last few weeks, they have kissed twice and sang a duet together. Granted, one of those kisses was forced upon them by Sue in a feeble attempt to get them back together but the kiss still happened and it still brought a sense of need to Kurt's nether regions. Kurt snapped out of his bubble of thought as the phone rang. He paused Moulin Rouge just as Christian and Satine did the dirty, to answer his cell not looking at the caller ID.

"Kurt Hummel," he said in as cheerful as a voice he could.

A very familiar male voice chuckled on the other end. "I know, Kurt, I called you."

"Blaine," Kurt replied in a breathless whisper. To this day, Kurt couldn't hear his voice, even over the phone, without his heart palpitating like an out-of-sync drum line. "What a pleasant surprise."

"I need you," came Blaine's blunt, short reply.

"W-what?" Blaine didn't just say what Kurt thought he just said.

Blaine sighed. "Dave just finished moving out and I'm lonely. I'm in the mood for Oklahoma! and I know you're the only person who will watch it with me without passing judgement. And Rachel would just sing every line of the whole thing."

Kurt grinned and let out a small laugh. "I was just watching Moulin Rouge. I know, sad, right?"

"Not at all." There was a pause. "Kurt, are you-are you seeing that older gentleman?"

Kurt's eyes widened and he cleared his throat. "If seeing him means 'we have dinner once a week to discuss how his children are' then yes, we are. If you mean 'are we together', than no, we're not. Walter is just a good friend. Why?"

"I went to McKinley the other day to tell you something but you and Rachel and Sam and-Walter-we're going to dinner as mixed doubles and I didn't want to break you and Walter up."

Kurt smiled. "Well now you know there isn't anything to break up, so why don't you tell me what you wanted to tell me earlier?"

"Okay, I will." There came a knock at Kurt's apartment door.

"Hold on, someone is at the door." He put down his phone and opened the door. Standing outside in the dimly lit hallway was Blaine. He pulled the phone away from his ear and smiled.

"Surprise?"

Kurt just walked forward and hugged him. Blaine's arms circled around Kurt's waist and rested his head on the other man's shoulder. Blaine had missed Kurt's hugs and Kurt had just missed Blaine. The two men stood there for a few moments in that embrace before Kurt pulled back.

"Did you want to come in?"

Blaine nodded and smiled. "I was hoping you'd ask."

Kurt stood to the side for Blaine to pass by him. As the younger man walked passed, the older man smelled raspberry hair gel and Burberry cologne; two scents that Kurt had nose memory for.

Blaine took off his jacket as he stepped into Kurt's tiny loft apartment and laid it over a chair in the kitchen. Looking around Blaine nodded his head. "This is a nice apartment you snagged."

"Well, I liked the loft Rachel and I had in Bushwick and this is the only loft apartment building in the area. I know Westerville is nearly an hour drive one way from McKinley, but I'm comfortable here." Kurt stepped into the kitchen. "Can I get you a drink? I currently have almond milk, one can of Sprite and a bottle of Chardonnay that I had left over from our wine tasting for the reception."

Blaine nodded. "I'll take the alcoholic choice. After the last week, I'll need it."

Pouring the wine into two plastic wine glasses Kurt continued. "So what was it you needed to tell me?"

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

Blaine licked his lips before continuing. "That day, when you broke off our wedding, I just walked away. I didn't try to work it out. We didn't talk to each other for months, I even deleted your number from my phone for the first three months. I got it off of Rachel, using the excuse my phone deleted some numbers. FYI, I don't think she believed me. You and me, we've been through a lot together."

Blaine took Kurt's hand over the counter before continuing.

"And all I did was walk away and start seeing someone that I would never be able to be with permanently. As Finn used to tell Rachel, you and I are endgame, Kurt. You give me courage, you give me hope, you give me song. No one else understands me the way you do. I can look at you and know just what you're trying to say. A touch of your hand lets me know you'll always be there for me, no matter what. Kurt, I love you."Blaine held up his hand to signal to Kurt to let him finish.

"I love you, Kurt. And I don't want you and I to be anything other than the best of friends. Your dad told me once he married two of his best friends. Your mom was the first and Carole was the other. Someday, maybe now, maybe later, hell, maybe never, I want to marry my best friend. I don't need you to feel pressured or rushed or coerced in any way this time. You and I, we'll take it slow. We'll start fresh, new, better. All I know is that the past 6 months have been hell without you. And I just want to feel whole again."

Kurt stood stock still for a minute or maybe an hour or perhaps it was several sunlit days, but he finally pulled his hands out from under Blaine's and came around to the other side of the counter where Blaine was standing. Kurt's clear blue eyes met Blaine's dark hazel ones before Kurt pulled Blaine's face towards his own and kissed his perfect mouth in a passionate, hot kiss.

Without rhyme or reason, before either of them knew why or when, they were standing in Kurt's kitchen, shirtless. Blaine's eyes were now onyx with passion as he took in Kurt's chest. Sure, he had seen it before many times, but distance really does make the heart grow fonder. Leaving the wine glasses forgotten on the island counter, Kurt pulled Blaine back to his partitioned room.

Blaine turned to Kurt. "Wait, Kurt, stop."

"I thought this was something you liked," Kurt said, slightly hurt.

"Oh, it is. But I think you and I need to just be slow for now." Blaine took Kurt's face in his hands. "I know you and I have had some amazing, beautiful sex before but I'd like to rediscover all of your spots slowly like I found them the first time." Raking his eyes down Kurt's body, he slowly kissed the nape of his neck. When Kurt shivered Blaine smiled mischievously. "One down, about twenty to go."

"Blaine, I will love you until my dying day," Kurt let out breathlessly.

"Come what may."
