Well, hello! It has been (again) an embarrassingly long time since I posted anything. (I'm just flat stalled out on my in-progress NCIS story, for anyone that may be interested. I don't really like where it is and don't have a clear idea of where I'm going with it, I guess. Disappointing. I hate leaving things unfinished though, so even if my plot concept requires a major overhaul I'll get there eventually...hopefully before we all die of old age.)

At any rate, *this* story is all but complete. Just a few tweaks here and there, and I'll be able to put up the chapters in a timely fashion. Whew!

Usual disclaimers apply - I don't own anything or have any law enforcement or medical expertise, and it's all for fun anyway. I hope you enjoy. -abby

Steve McGarrett was on high alert, as always, taking point as his team stormed the warehouse. HPD was providing backup and from the corner of his eye, the former SEAL could tell that they were in position.

Gesturing with swift, decisive motions, McGarrett instructed his team to move. Within moments, the suspects were surrounded.

"Freeze! Hands where we can see 'em!" Steve and Danny thundered, in almost perfect unison.

The small group of arms dealers startled, then apparently as one mind surveyed the situation and concluded that they had no real options. Slowly six sets of hands lifted into the air as 5-0 and the uniformed HPD officers moved in.

That was easy, Danny thought. Almost suspiciously easy, actually. He was soon distracted from that line of thinking by his partner.

"Book 'em, Danno," Steve said with a grin as he zip-tied the hands of the perp standing closest.

Danny rolled his eyes. "Seriously, Steven, couldn't you let one opportunity pass you by? Just one. You don't have to say it every single time, you know."

Steve didn't reply, suddenly distracted by something behind them. He cocked his head, listening, then carefully made his way into a small room located off the main warehouse floor. Danny glanced at the rest of 5-0, all of whom were busy restraining and herding the suspects into the custody of HPD. He shook his head and - against my better judgement, he thought exasperatedly - followed McGarrett.

Danny had no sooner stepped inside the doorway when - "Get down!" Steve screamed, using his size advantage to shove Danny to the ground. The smaller man could do nothing but curse, pinned beneath his partner's muscular body, in the split second before the explosion.

Then there was only dark.
