Bellamy's POV
"O thank you so much for taking the kids. We'll be back soon." I say as I give my sister a hug. She already has Kensi in her arms and the twins are playing in the backyard.
"No problem big brother. I just wish you'd tell me what's going on." She gives me a look to tell me that trying to lie would be a horrible mistake.
"One day maybe I will; for now I just need to know that the kids are safe." I give Kensi a final kiss on the forehead and ruffle her hair. She giggles and blows a raspberry. "I left a letter for Lincoln at his office to give him a heads up too."
"I'll see you, soon." O says in a voice not quite devoid of emotion. I can tell that she isn't sure if we will see each other again. She doesn't know everything, but she does know that it must be bad if Clarke and I are leaving the kids.
"I love you." I give her a kiss on the cheek and head out to my bike. I left it here the last time the four of us adults went out for a weekend. It'll be better than driving the SUV. A little less obvious.
"Love you too." O calls out to me as I hop on my bike. After projecting myself to Clarke earlier I was able to cut through her hold on me just enough to see the truth. It's almost like if I hold onto my projected self her power wasn't able to attach to it so I'm free. I know that she's trying to keep me safe, but I know that Emerson won't let her go that easy.
The last time we were together we had to kill a whole group of people to get away, this time though I don't think either of us could heal. I can feel Clarke as I get closer to her. I still have a ways to go, but I can tell that she's stopped moving. It makes sense. She would have gone to the town just next to where she was meeting Emerson so that she'd be ready for tomorrow.
Bellamy, go home.
I feel her command in my mind. She knows.
No can do Princess.
Think of the kids.
I am. They need you. I need you.
Fine, come but don't let Emerson see you. He's here, in the next room.
"He knows us too well." I say as I appear in front of Clarke. While talking to her I had pulled off the road and hidden my bike by a hiking trail that I know is rarely used. She's sitting on the bed that's covered in blueprints.
"Yes, I do." Emerson says while walking into the room that from the look on Clarke's face should have been locked.
"Now that you're both here let's get started shall we?" He rubs his hands together and chuckles. "Oh how I've missed these great moments together."
"What do you want us to do?" I ask stepping in front of Clarke to keep him away from her.
"Well, I happened to lose my chance at becoming wealthy from robbing a certain bank a couple of years ago, you might remember it. It's the one that you let blow up."
His words do what he planned; they hit me hard. I remember the screams as the people who were trapped died. It was a horrible day. I had tried to get them out but I was too weak I could only get Clarke, my newly pregnant wife out of the bank before it was destroyed. If we had just let him go in and take the money those people wouldn't have died. Ah, who am I kidding he would have still killed them, but I wouldn't have been so weak after fighting him.
"You want money?" I ask wondering why he needs us still to get it. He is beyond wealthy even before the bank incident.
"Not exactly. I want you to suffer. You will go to Kane's estate and get into his secret office. There are some documents that are very valuable. I want them."
"We get the papers and you'll let us go?" Clarke asks standing up to join us.
"Scouts honor." He says with a smirk.
"You were never a scout." I glare.
"Right you are." Then before either of us can react he pulls a gun out of his back pocket and shoots Clarke in the shoulder. The force of the shot flings her back against the bed. She grips her bleeding wound and screams.
"Now, it doesn't look like you have much time. The sooner you get back with the papers the sooner I'll get her to a hospital." He says as I crouch down to hold onto my bleeding wife.
"You have no idea what you have done." I growl as I stand up to meet him eye to eye. I reach out to grip his neck tightly in my hands. I lift him off of the ground and the gun that was in his hand clatters to the ground. He never was actually strong, he's just a fast thinker and intelligent.
I slam his body against the wall and I swear I hear his brain rattle in his skull from the force. Then without a second thought I snap his neck. I don't know why I didn't do this earlier. Because I didn't want to kill anyone else I let so many people get hurt.
"This wasn't your fault, Bell." Clarke says pulling me back to reality. I lift her into my arms and run to her car. Blood is gushing from her wound, but I know she'll be okay. She has to be okay.
"Just hold on Princess." I whisper into her ear as I lay her in the back of the car.
"That's not how it was supposed to go!" Alie screeches as we appear in the room once again. Clarke's not bleeding anymore and there is only one door left in front of us. Alie looks furious. "You were supposed to be too late to get there. How were you communicating? You changed it!"
"What are you talking about?" I ask her as I feel Clarke's strong grip on my hand.
"She was supposed to be dead when you got there." She spits out the word she as if it is a curse.
"Enough, Alie. They are both alright. This is meant to happen. Nothing really changed." Jake appears in the room again and waves a hand at the still steaming woman in front of us.
"You have done far better than I expected, daughter." Jake steps out from the darkness so that Clarke can see him better.
"Dad?" She cries out. "You died. I saw your body. I went to your funeral."
"I'm sorry it had to be like this. We have much to discuss but we don't have time now. You need to go through this final door. Something is happening outside and we need to get you out. Please remember who you are." He then reaches out to tap Clarke on the forehead and she falls back, limp. I catch her and look up at her father.
"What did you do to her?"
"Don't worry. She'll be okay. Now open the door. Our lives depend on you. Please don't let us down." He says before disappearing. Alie, thankfully disappears with him.
I grab the last door, take a breath and pull it open. The sound of wolves howling fills my ears as I fall forward into the blackness with Clark in my arms. She stirs just as the doorway disappears.
