BlackLynx17: I forgot what gave me the idea to write this, but this was written and it is a one-shot because I was feeling really Mendy one day. Thanks.
"If you ever want to see your girlfriend alive again then you'll come to this location, alone, tonight, dressed nicely... is she being serious right now?" Doranbolt asked himself.
Here he was, just returning home from a long day of work, expecting to see his girlfriend home waiting for him with dinner or something. All he wanted to do was just sit and be with her, but instead he returns home to a kidnapping note that obviously Wendy wrote herself by the handwriting.
"Wendy?! Wendy?!... She's really being serious." Doranbolt said in amazement.
He didn't have time for this. He had a huge meeting tomorrow, had to wake up even earlier than normal, so he had to sleep earlier than normal, and Doranbolt just didn't have time to play whatever game she wanted. So he ate whatever was in the refrigerator, took a quick shower, then fell right off to bed. Needless to say about two hours waiting at the rendezvous point, with a no show from her boyfriend, Wendy was pissed when she came home.
The door was kicked open, the floors were stomped on towards the bedroom, and Doranbolt was kicked out of his own bed getting yelled at midnight.
"I WAS KIDNAPPED!" Wendy screamed.
"Can we please do this tomorrow, I need sleep Wendy." He whined.
"ARE YOU NOT HEARING ME?! I WAS KIDNAPPED! KID-NAPPED!"
"No you weren't, the writing in the note was obviously your own." Doranbolt said crawling back into bed.
"That's besides the point! You would think that hearing your girlfriend is kidnapped, a boyfriend would rush towards the rescue, you did nothing though. You didn't show up, had me waiting for hours, and then I find you here SLEEPING!" Wendy screamed when he passed out again.
"Wendy, tomorrow. Go to bed."
Wendy took a huge breath and sighed out, jumping off of the bed. She stomped right out of their room, slammed the door behind her, and preceded to make noise throughout the whole household before another slamming door was heard. Doranbolt sighed out, know he had hell to pay in the morning, but fell back asleep with no trouble at all.
"Lucy... kidnap me." Wendy said.
"Wendy, are you being serious right now?"
"He won't recognize your handwriting, at least I don't think he will."
"So I take it last night didn't work out so well?"
"I hate him so much. He's always working, always busy, and never has time for me! And when he finally comes home he's exhausted, doesn't want to go out, and just falls asleep immediately. I don't know what to do."
"Have you told him this?"
"Of course I have, he doesn't listen though or blames his work. I understand that his job is important, but I'm his girlfriend. I have priorities too you know. Why do I have to fake a kidnapping to have him show me a little attention and take me out to dinner? I was sitting at that restaurant for two hours, getting hit on constantly."
"I thought you were going to say humiliated, but okay."
"No, getting hit on is worst. I wish I was left alone at that restaurant, I swear Lucy I don't know how much more of this I can take. I'm tired of coming second best, I want to be first in his life."
"And so you think kidnapping is the way to go?"
Wendy sighed and leaned against her hand, "what did you do when Natsu ignored you?"
"He never ignored me, but when his job got too serious at one point we just went on vacation."
"Vacation... that sounds like a nice plan. Yeah, a vacation sounds great! I'll tell Doranbolt that we're going on a vacation!"
"I hate him Lucy, I hate him so much." Wendy cried slamming her fist on the table.
"I take it he said no?"
"I hate him." Wendy bit her bottom lip.
Lucy sighed and started rubbing Wendy's head, "there, there."
"I'm going to do it, I'm going to leave him."
"You love him though Wendy."
"I hate him more! I can't do this anymore, I'm not happy at all! I don't want this kind of life, I don't want this kind of boyfriend!"
Lucy sighed again, seeing her friend so worked up. "Good luck then."
"Doranbolt, I am not happy." Wendy frowned stomping her feet on the ground.
"Is that so?" Doranbolt answered, his eyes scanning the reports in his hands.
"I'm not, and I've decided that the best thing for me would be to break up with you."
"Is that so?" Doranbolt asked, flipping the page.
"I'm being completely serious!"
"Is that so?"
Wendy started growling and walked over, slapping everything out of his hands. Doranbolt gasped and groaned, reaching out to catch his flying papers.
"Wendy?! What the hell was that for?!"
"I am talking to you Doranbolt!" She yelled.
"I was paying attention!" He yelled right back.
"Oh really?! Then what was I talking about?!"
Doranbolt caught all his papers and picked up the stray ones from that floor, shuffling them up into a neat and nice pile. Now he was going to have to organize them all over again and find off where he left off.
"Wendy, I don't have time right now for this. Can we please talk about this tomorrow?"
"No! You always say tomorrow and I'm sick and tired of tomorrow! I'm not happy Doranbolt, I'm going to leave you!"
That time he finally heard it. Doranbolt sighed out and stood up, placing his papers on the coffee table with his reading glasses right after on top.
"You don't mean that." He said pinching the bridges of his nose.
"No, I completely do!" Wendy said stubbornly.
"Where's your bags then?"
"Bags?" Wendy asked.
"Your ride? Your friend who tells me to let me do whatever you want? If you were serious about this you wouldn't be telling me, you would have already been gone."
"And that's the problem! Even if I did leave you, you wouldn't notice it at all! The nixt time we met you'd still think we're together, so that's why I'm telling you now in front of your face that FOR ONCE is finally listening and paying attention to me!" Wendy cried out.
"If you wanted attention then ask for attention, don't threaten to leave me and interrupt my work Wendy." Doranbolt said walking over.
"That's not what I'm asking for! I'- mmph!" Wendy was cut off when her boyfriend's lips met her owns.
Doranbolt closed his eyes and grabbed onto her arms, pressing their lips even harder together. His tongue pried open her mouth and took her breath away, Wendy's eyes widened. She tried to fight him off, well more like attempted as she pushed at his chest.
"Doranbolt!" She whined.
"Shh," he said before kissing her again.
Wendy glared and bit onto his bottom lip, Doranbolt bit right back. His arms wrapped around her waist, his fingertips running up her spine. Wendy shivered, moaning lightly, cursing her body for giving into him. Her legs went weak in the knees and Doranbolt found him supporting her, trailing his lips down her neck.
"Don't, stop, I hate you." Wendy whined.
"I love you too." Doranbolt mumbled against her skin before digging his teeth into it, making a large bruise.
"Aw, ah, hmm."
Doranbolt kissed her again, lying her down onto the floor. He started unbuttoning his collared shirt before moving down to take off her own shirt. At that one moment of pause when her shirt was getting lifted over her head, Wendy tried to squirm.
"Insensitive, workaholic asshole!"
"I love it when you talk dirty to me," Doranbolt chucked laying kissed down her now revealing spine.
Wendy gasped and stilled when he nipped at her sweet spot, using his teeth to unhook her bra strap before kissing down to her jean lines. She shivered, gasped, and moaned, then couldn't find the strength to refuse any longer as Doranbolt loved her.
"How'd last night go?" Lucy asked.
Wendy exhaled deeply through her nose, "we had sex on the floor before I collapsed in exhaustion and woke up this morning alone."
"So I take it... not good?"
"Fucking arrogant asshole."
"Wendy listen to me, tonight just go talk to Doranbolt. Tell him you're unhappy, tell him you want change."
"Lucy, were your listening? I told him that yesterday and he atta-"
"I don't need to know the details, just keep trying Wendy. Give him one more week and then if he doesn't understand, I'll have Natsu kick his ass."
"How about a day, no a night, and Natsu kicks his ass if he ignores me once more."
"Call me tomorrow Wendy and tell me all about it."
"I hope Natsu's been working out, because even though he's a bitch Doranbolt has the body of a God."
For once when Wendy came home, Doranbolt was there. He wasn't there with his head in a book though, or papers stuffed in his face, or even passed out on the floor or couch or table. He was sitting on their couch, eating an apple as he read the newspaper. His eyes trailed up when he heard her footsteps and all of a sudden Wendy felt tired. Tired of arguing with him, tired to fighting for his attention, tired of being ignored, tired of just everything that had to do with him.
"I'm not happy Doranbolt."
For once he finally heard her, "I know, come here."
"No you don't, because if you did you would care."
Doranbolt placed his things on the coffee table and stood up, walking over towards her. Wendy took a step back when he tried to reach for her, he stretched out and grabbed her though. She fell into his arms and sighed out, leaning her head against his chest.
"I hate your job."
"I know, I hate it too."
"No you don't. Listen, I don't care if you work there, I care that it takes so much of your time though. I want to have some of your time too, I want days with you all to myself too, and I want to go out more, I hate being locked up in here, but I want to go with you, and I hate eating alone and sleeping alone, and you're just an asshole for letting me feel all of this." Wendy started crying.
"I've been working really hard to provide for us Wendy."
"And don't you dare use me as an excuse!" She screamed pushing her off him, "I don't need a apartment like this or all these things, I'd be happy living in a box if that meant you'd spend some time with me!"
"It's whatever you want now Wendy, I'm here for you now."
Wendy sniffed and glared lightly, "why? What happened at work?"
"I got the promotion I've been aiming for-"
"At what cause though," Wendy mumbled.
"Wendy, this is good news. I don't have to work as hard anymore, I can have more time for you-"
"If it wasn't for the fact that you got this promotion, would you still be at work right now? Worrying more about it than me? Would we even be having this conversation?!"
Doranbolt's face dropped slightly; he didn't say anything.
"Doranbolt... I'm tired of us."
"You don't need to worry anymore, I'll make everything up to you and more. I love you Wendy."
Wendy pouted, "I want you to suffer."
"Suffer?" Doranbolt raised an eyebrow.
"Yup, I've been lonely for weeks because of you!"
"What kind of punishment were you thinking of?" He asked.
Wendy got a cruel smile on her face, "kitchen duty! Cleaning duty! And cooking duty for the next month!"
Doranbolt's face dropped, "are you serious?"
"Yup! And I want date night! Every other night! And I want to go out and party with our friends more often! And I want a life! And- and- and- and a pet too! To keep me company when you're gone, and are these demands actually working?" Wendy asked.
"No, they're not."
"Well if I don't get them then I'm leaving!" Wendy huffed.
"Okay! Okay, date night, friends night, cleaning and cooking, are we good though?"
Wendy pouted out her bottom lip, "you really made me hate you."
"Good think you love me more."
"So, what are you doing today?"
"I'm going to do some work a little bit later and- I'm kidding Wendy! I'm kidding!" Doranbolt said shaking his hands.
"Good, because we're going shopping! You have a lot of making up to do." Wendy smiled lightly.
Doranbolt chuckled and tried to kiss her, Wendy jabbed him in his stomach though and went to get her purse. He looked back after her, finally seeing one of her true smiles after... after how long? Could he really not remember when the last time he's seen his girlfriend happy?
"Alright, I'm ready!" Wendy said coming back.
Doranbolt grabbed her in his arms and pulled her in for a kiss, Wendy's eyes widening from the sudden action.
"I love you." He whispered against her lips.
"Hmm, hmm," Wendy hummed kissed him back.
"Do you think, we can go, in a minute?" Doranbolt asked pulling her jacket and purse off.
"Na-ah!" Wendy hissed as she felt small nips on the side of her neck.
"I think what I regret most about working so much is not being able to love you as much as I wanted too."
"Doranb-ah-lt." She moaned lightly running her fingers through his hair.
"I'll be sure to make all of that up, actually it should be the first thing I'll make up to you." Doranbolt said before kissing her again.
Wendy held no complaints, screw shopping.
"Made up?" Lucy couldn't help but ask smugly as she saw the far off look in her best friend's eye.
"Yeah," Wendy sighed heavenly.
"Are you two better now?"
"Yeah," Wendy sighed heavenly again.
"I take it the make up sex was good?"
Wendy giggled lightly before sighing out again, "yeah."
"Did you tell him about the baby or is that for another day?"
"Oh Lucy, one thing at a time. We've just made up, he still needs to be punished though. I'm going to keep it from him for a little while longer, maybe even until he asks jokingly if I'm pregnant. The look on his face when I just say yeah so cooly, hehehe." Wendy giggled.
"You found out three weeks ago Wendy, hopefully that time will be soon. I'm happy that you two finally made up though; you're my favorite couple."
"Thanks for listening to my constant troubles, it's exactly why I'm naming you the Godmother of my child."
"Oh goody! Thank you Wendy, I can't wait until he or she is born! Hopefully it'll be a girl, that would really punish Doranbolt. Having a baby daughter, worrying about fighting off guys and everything when she's older. That's like a lifetime punishment."
Wendy blinked, a cruel smile appearing on her face, "it would be, wouldn't it?"
"Wendy? Wendy I was only kidding!"
"It'll especially be horrible if she looked just like me, are there things you can do to make your baby a girl?"
"Wendy!"
"You came up with the plan Lucy, not me."
"I can't believe you," she started giggling.
"That is even better than the chores that I have him doing right now. Oh Doranbolt, just wait until I get home."
"Just please remember you love the man, okay Wendy? Remember you love your boyfriend."
"Oh, you didn't notice?"
"Notice? Notice what?"
Wendy picked up her drink with her left hand and took a sip, the diamond ring on her finger refelcting the sunlight. Lucy's jaw dropped as she placed the glass back on the table.
"Took my shopping yesterday, walked me right into the store, grabbed a random ring, and proposed to me with it right then and there."
"Wha-wha-wha- well then you don't have to worry about his punishment anymore if he's going to be bound together with you for the rest of his life."
Wendy snorted and stuck out her tongue, "that's so mean! I love him."
"And he loves you, perfect couple... well then, to the Mrs. Wendy Gryder! May your future husband never neglect you again or else I fear what might happen to him!"
"You got that right," Wendy smirked clinking their glasses together.
"You're getting pretty big there Wendy, you better start watching what you eat! Hahaha, sooner or later people are going to think you're pregnant."
"I am."
Doranbolt froze, his mouth wide open with laughter. Slowly though, he tilted his head down and closed that mouth of his as he stared at his girlfriend.
"Huh?"
"I'm pregnant." Wendy said lightly.
Doranbolt blinked, opened and closed his mouth, felt his head spinning before he ultimately fainted and fell out of his chair. Wendy started laughing so hard, tears came to her eyes and she immediately reached for her phone.
"He asked! He finally asked and he fainted! It was so funny Lucy, totally worth it!"
