Chapter Five
Nicholas's POV:
My da and I heard Quinn yelling in the hallway and knew he was yelling at Amy. We got up to go find them. He pushed past us as he ran away from where he had been and we kept going, worried about Amy. As we got to the end of the hallway, we saw her slide to the floor, the lean to the side and start throwing up.
"Amy!" I called out.
"We need medics down here!" Da called out as we ran to her.
I got to her first, pulling her into my lap, leaning her over so that there would be no chance she would choke on her vomit. I held her hair as she threw up. The medics got there a minute or two later and when they took her to put her on the gurney I noticed blood on my hand.
"She's bleedin' from her head," I said to them.
I looked at the wall where I found her. There was a streak of blood from where her head must have initially hit down to where she slid to the floor. I pointed it out to the medics who nodded at me, wrote something on the clipboard and started moving her out. By this point, The Young Bucks were coming backstage from their match.
"What the hell just happened?" Nick asked.
"I'm na sure. Nick and I were walkin when we heard tha yellin'. Amy was on the floor throwin' up," Dad explained.
By this point Donovan, Kourtney, and Alyson were all with us. Da called Amy's da to tell him where they were taking her. When everyone decided that they were going to the hospital, I decided to go find Quinn. I told Da I would call him later to find out where everyone was and left.
It took me an hour to track his arse down. He was at an abandoned yard. He was throwing shit around.
"Quinn! What in the bloody hell what were ya thinkin'!?"
"Go ta hell, Nicholas. I'm na in the mood for ya."
I made my way to him and punched him so hard in the mouth that he fell to the ground.
"How could ya hurt Amy like that?"
I kicked him in the ribs, hard.
"Ya went after my da, then ya go after Amy? What tha hell is wrong with ya?"
He grabbed my leg and threw me to the ground. We had an all-out street brawl. We beat each other bloody.
"She told me my da was a rapist and her family turned him inta a mantlepiece!" He yelled at me as he punched me in my stomach.
We went back and forth until the cops came and broke us up… Putting us in handcuffs.
Joe's POV:
I had just finished for the night when my phone started ringing. It was Drew. A bad feeling hit in my stomach. He was with Amy.
"Is something wrong?" I asked as I picked up the phone.
"Yes. Meet me at the hospital. I texted you the address for your GPS. I'm in the ambulance with Amy right now."
"What happened?" I asked both pissed off and scared for my little girl.
"We won't know until she can tell us, but Nicholas and I found her after we heard Quinn yelling. She was slumped on the floor throwing up, Joe. Her head was bleeding. We got her help before anything else. The Bucks, their girls, and Donovan are on their way behind the ambulance. I imagine Mickey and Nick are with him. Nicholas went to find Quinn."
"I'm coming. Tell Amy I'm on my way."
"I'll keep an eye on her until you get here."
"Thanks, Drew."
I hung up the phone and grabbed my things. I was on my way out of the arena when Paul grabbed me.
"Whoa. Where are you going? The event isn't over."
"I just heard from Drew Galloway. He was at the event Amy was wrestling at tonight. She's on her way to the hospital, Paul. She's never been hurt enough to need the hospital, Paul. I gotta go to her. She's ending her birthday with a visit to a Scottish hospital."
"Go. What about the others?"
"Can you tell them? I don't have time, I need to get to her."
"I got you. Go take care of her. The first injury is always the scariest."
I nodded at him and left, getting in my rental car. After entering the address of the hospital Drew told me into the GPS, I took off. It didn't take me long to get there. When I did, there was already a group of people there to support my little girl. Matt and Nick Massie were there with their daughters Kourtney and Alyson, Drew was there, and Nick and Mickey were there with Donovan. It made me feel better that she wasn't alone.
"How is she?" I asked.
"We don't know. They haven't come out with any answers and won't tell any of us because we're not technically her family," Matt told me.
At that moment a doctor came out.
"Lookin' for the family of Amy Anoa'i."
"That's me, Doc. I'm her father."
"Come with me. I'll take you in ta see her."
I followed the doctor and he started talking as we walked.
"Your daughter will be fine. She's got a few stitches in her head and a concussion. She took a nasty hit ta the head, but otherwise, she's in pretty good shape for an independent wrestler."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked him, wondering why he brought up her being and indy wrestler.
"Usually, Mr. Anoa'i, by the time we get independent wrestlers brought in here, there are more injuries than they let on. Not your daughter. She's obviously been taking care of herself."
"When will she be able to wrestle?"
"Technically, it depends on the test we run in the mornin'. When we see how she's doin' then, we'll decide when she'll be cleared."
"Thanks, Doc."
I walked into the room he led me to. Amy's head was bandaged and she looked a little pale.
Amy's POV:
My head hurt like hell. I wanted to sleep, but the doctors already told me that was the worst thing for me to do because I had a concussion. I was pissed at Quinn. Maybe I could have broken the news about his dad easier, but I told him not to push me. Suddenly, there was a light knock on the door to my hospital room. I looked up and it was my dad.
"What are you doing here?"
"Came to check on my Baby Girl. Drew called me to tell me you were here. What happened? Are you okay?"
"The doc said it's a concussion. I'll be fine. I got into an argument with Quinn. He wanted to know about his dad and when I told him, he got mad, we got into an argument and he shoved me. I hit my head when he shoved me. Things are a little fuzzy after that."
"Why did he get mad at you about his dad?"
"His dad was Mom's heart donor, Dad. I was mad at him. He was out of control in our match tonight because something happened to him before the match and then he came after me when we went backstage. I may not have been nice when I told him the truth about his dad and he got pissed off and shoved me."
"And he left you?"
"I'm glad he did. I didn't want him near me at that point anyway."
"Amy, he had no right to hit you for this."
"I know that, Dad. I'm not saying he did because I wasn't nice. I'm just saying that I probably didn't help an already explosive situation."
"How do you feel, Baby Girl?"
"Eh, it could be worse. At least I'm not throwing up anymore. The doctors just said I can't sleep right now and I have three stitches from where my head hit the wall. I didn't mean to scare anyone."
"Don't worry about any of that. I'm just glad that you're alright. When Drew called and told me what happened and wasn't even sure how bad it was because you couldn't talk to them, I was scared, Baby Girl."
"Sorry, Dad. I'm okay though. Really. My head just hurts."
Donovan's POV:
It had been a week since Amy had been in the hospital. The WWE tour was over and her family was back in the states, but she was still in the UK with me, Alyson, Kourtney, Nicholas, Drew, my dad, and unfortunately, Quinn. We were wrestling in Norwich that night. It was an intergender tag match between Nicholas, Amy, me, and Kourtney.
"Are ya ready for this, Son?" Dad asked me in the locker room.
I nodded at him. I loved to wrestle. It was in my blood.
"I'm just worried. Quinn's been more unstable since last week. First he attacked Amy, then him and Nicholas got arrested? He's spiraling, Da and I'm worried what will happen during our match. What if he decides to go off-program and come start with them during the match?"
Dad gave a laugh.
"I'd feel sorry for him if he did. Forget what Amy and Nicholas will do to him. He'll have to deal with what Roy and Zak will do to him for messing with their family promotion. The Bevises don't play when it comes to their promotion."
I nodded at Dad, hoping he was right. At that moment, Nicholas came into the locker room, followed by Roy and Zak, the UK Hooligans.
"So, just so ya lads know, ya are allowed ta hit the lasses in yer match. If ya do, that's between the four of ya. We know that it won't matter ta Amy, she'll kick yer asses, but we're not sure how Kourtney will take it, so yer gonna have ta figure that out before yer match. Blood is fine, we're not the fucking WWE pussies, just don't break each other, kill each other, break our equipment or our fans. Rules clear enough?" Roy asked Nicholas and I.
"Yeah, Roy, we're good. Just be careful of that wildcard ya got booked for the singles match against Zak, Quinn Davis. He put Amy in the hospital last week after their match, bashed her head in a wall. Lass is alright now, but you might wanna make sure he behaves, if ya know what I mean," Nicholas replied.
"Don't worry about Davis. We know about what happened with him and Amy. That's why he's fightin' Zak and not some up and comer. Zak'll teach him a lesson 'bout beating on girls outside of the ring. Won'tcha, Zak?" Roy replied.
Zak grinned. We both knew that Quinn was in for a rough night.
Kourtney's POV:
"Really, guys, I can fight you guys like Amy. We can have guy on girl violence in the match," I said to Nicholas and Donovan. "I'm not afraid to take a hit."
"But you usually fight just girls, Kourt," Donovan replied.
"But I was trained by my father and uncle. Do you really think I haven't taken my share of superkicks and Meltzer Drivers in my training? I'll be fine."
"Guys, she's tougher than she looks," Amy said defending me. "We trained together for over two years before I started travelling on my own. I know she can take her fair share of hits. And if you push too far, she'll let you know discreetly you need to tone it down. She's professional. Don't worry about her."
"Her Da an Uncle aren'a gonna be happy that we're hittin' her," Nicholas said. "And by we I mean me. Do I have to worry about the Young Bucks coming fer me?"
"Only if I get hurt," Kourtney said.
"I promise I won't hurt ya, Lass," Nicholas said, smiling at her.
"Good, because you wouldn't have to worry about the Bucks just yet, Nicholas. Don't forget, Kourtney is my girlfriend. If you hurt her, I'll kick your arse tonight," Donovan pointed out.
A little while later, Donovan and I made our way out to the ring. Then fans knew Donovan better than me, so we got a reaction, but it was mostly chants for him. The lights went out and new music started to play. The fans went wild. Amy was coming out to Nicholas' music for the match. We were the main event because Nicholas was the champion at World Association of Wrestling and Amy had picked up the Bellatrix Female Warriors', which was now run by Jonny's mom Saraya, championship a few months before her birthday. She had just defended it the night before our intergender tag match.
Our match started with me and Amy. I was fine with that. She went for a quick elbow and I ducked under and tried a schoolgirl roll-up on her. She kicked out quickly and hit me with a few big boots to my side. Donovan jumped into the ring and pulled her off of me and she superkicked him back to the corner. I was back to my feet by the time she turned around to me and I superkicked her, which the crowd loved. She got back to her feet quickly and chokeslammed me. When I got back up, she grabbed me by my arm, walked me to the ropes and performed Old School, which I'd never seen her do before. My arm was sore, so when I hit the mat, I rolled to the corner and tagged Donovan in while I tried to get the feeling in my arm back.
Nicholas' POV:
Donovan climbed into the ring. I knew how he felt about hitting girls. He wouldn't like hitting Amy, even if he knew she could beat his arse.
"Tag me in, Lassie," I called to her.
Amy looked to me in the corner and gave me a mischievous grin. Donovan was trying to push her to the corner to either force the tag or pin her in the corner. I could tell with that grin, she wasn't going with his plan. She let him her towards me than turned and ran up the turnbuckle and hit Donovan with Jeff Hardy's move Whisper in the Wind. When she got back to her feet, she bowed to Donovan, raised her fans to rile the fans up, and then finally tagged me in.
"He's all yours, Scotland," she said to me as she climbed onto the turnbuckle.
I couldn't help but smile. She never ceased to amaze me with the random things she pulled out of her wrestling arsenal. I got into the ring and pulled Donovan to the middle of the ring and covered him. He kicked out at two. He got back to his feet and hit me with a DDT, one of his mama's signature moves. He covered me for the pin, but I kicked out this time. I got up and hit him with a northern lights suplex and followed that quickly with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Kourtney hit me with a dropkick before I got the three-count.
Amy jumped in and tossed Kourtney over the ropes to the mats outside. Donovan and I got back to our feet as they continued to go at it outside the ring. Donovan locked me into the cloverleaf in the middle of the ring. The crowd was chanting for me not to tap. Amy must have taken notice. She slid into the ring and hit Donovan with her father's signature superman punch. Donovan went down. I covered him. This time, I got the pin. The referee held our hands up in victory and we left the ring together. We waited just out of sight of the fans for Kourtney and Donovan to make their way to the back.
"Are you alright, Donovan? I didn't hit you too hard, did I?" Amy asked as soon as they cleared the curtains.
"Nah, Amy, I'm good. It was a great match," Donovan said, all smiles, his arm around Kourtney's shoulders.
"Yeah, we had a blast fighting you guys. Next time we need to plan it more to get in more tag spots," Kourtney said to us.
"Yer right, Kourtney. We were in such a rush to see what we could do together, we didna plan this match well," I agreed.
"Well, we've definitely got to do this again," Amy said.
"Soon. I'm heading back to Japan for a few weeks tomorrow and Donovan is heading to the States because he has a family obligation. So I won't see you until next month at PWG, Amy," Kourtney said.
"Actually, you'll be seeing both of us, Lassie. I'll be coming into the states for a few weeks. Amy and I are going to tour the states for a few weeks together. I've never gone before," I replied.
"Will your dad be going with you?" Kourtney asked.
"Yeah, Da will be with us, but so will Quinn, unfortunately."
"He has a right to meet Sami and some of the others who knew his father. It's not like they can just pack up and take a trip out here to the UK, Nicholas," Amy said.
"Well, if he asks fer them, are ya gonna give him his Da's ashes, Amy?" I asked her.
She looked at me for a minute. I think she was really thinking about the question.
"I would have to talk to my dad, but I think it would be the right thing to do if he wanted it. We didn't know he had anybody, it's why my mom claimed his father's body, gave him a funeral and had him cremated. I think she kept him at the house so that she remembered that all the good she had in her life, no matter how much bad she got from him, was ultimately because he gave his life for her."
"This conversation is getting too depressing. Who's up for a drink?" Kourtney asked.
We all agreed and went to find the nearest pub. At the end of the night, we went our separate ways, with Amy and I sharing a hotel suite. It was a nice end to great night.
