Little Memory Trip (ºvº)

It was a dark, cloudless night, where a man could be seen waiting for a certain someone on the sidewalk in front of a restaurant. Soon enough, a woman, wearing a white one shoulder dress, was walking up to him.

"Laxus!" she called out. The blonde man, wearing a black one button english cut suit, looked at her, his hands on his pocket.

"Why did you take so long to get here, Lucy?" he asked.

"Sorry, I had to make sure they were okay."

"They are fine, and will be fine, they are with Levy and Gajeel, after all, so let's just enjoy ourselves here. To see if I get any fun out of this."

The couple entered the restaurant, but soon were stopped by a man behind the counter.

"Reservation under the name of Laxus Dreyar," he said roughly. The man looked at his little book and then back at the blonde couple.

"Oh, yes, the Dreyars, come with me, please." The man led the two mages to a certain table, by the window, the menus already on the said table.

They sat down, and waited for a waiter to come. They already knew what was on the menu, they had tasted every plate on it and already had their favourites decided. The restaurant wasn't too busy, so they had the chance to order quickly.

"So, Laxus Dreyar, how does it feel?" Lucy asked, after some moments in silence.

"Oh, fuck you, you know how I feel about all of this, you goddamned thirty-three-year-old."

"Hey, it is not my fault your birthday is before mine. And are you going to have a middle age crisis or something, you forty-year-old?"

"Don't throw that fucking number at my face like that, yesterday was bad enough."

"You and I made birthday-love yesterday, was that not a good thing?"

"Yeah, in the morning, and at night, I still had to endure the other fifteen hours of the day."

"Your mood is just impeccable today, isn't it?"

"I wanna see your mood when you turn forty."

"By then, you will be forty-seven, do you really want that so bad?"

"Yeah, that's right, just put some more salt in the wound, I'm sure that will make it go away."

"Fine, I'm sorry, I guess I'm being mean. Let's just change topic, like how our food is coming already." Laxus looked behind him and saw the waiter bringing their plates.

"Oh, wow, that was fast. How long was it, like five minutes?"

"Ten, and well, the restaurant is much calmer than what it was on our first time here. Do you remember it? Our first date?"

"God fuck, Lucy, now with a lack of memory joke, thanks a lot." Lucy giggled, but then replied.

"Laxus, don't be so sensitive, this is just supposed to be a conversation starter, nothing more."

"But of course I would remember the way you came to me in the restaurant in a red, fit dress, your hair arranged in a little bun, with two small strands of hair by each side of your face."

"And I'm guessing you can't forget the wonderful reason you found to take me here."

"I still defend it! I can't take you somewhere I've been before with another girl, it has to be more special. So I had to take you to this restaurant, it is the closest between all the others."

"It is fifty kilometres from either of our houses, if I hadn't found the key of the Chariot afterwards, we would have chosen another place."

"But you did, so this became our special place."

"Well, whatever. Though I did like what happened after we were over with our meal."

"Yeah, you did," Laxus replied, grinning, "And it was a complete surprise to you, wasn't it? After all, you weren't even wearing matching under-"

"Shut up about that! It's nothing special! I just thought, hey he wants to take it slow, he shouldn't be planning to see me naked, I can use those two pieces."

"I'm just happy I was able to seduce you enough to make you not mind showing me those things. And besides, it's not like you got mad at me after that part was done."

"All right, I do admit, you did spend my energies on that part." Laxus leaned in, and so did Lucy, since she understood he wanted to whisper something to her.

"I'll never forget how I made you scream my name and made you reach such a strong orgasm. Just thinking about it, makes me want to be closer to you, want... to..." Laxus bit her ear, and then started to kiss her side of the neck.

"Laxus, stop it, we're in public," Lucy said, quietly, "But, when we reach home, I think you can try again."

Laxus grinned again, and stopped kissing her. Instead, he started to eat the food in front of him as fast as he could, while doing is best to be polite, so that they could get home as fast as they could, and begin their love session as fast as they could. However, Lucy had another plan, she would eat calmly, there was no real rush, the man just wanted to sleep with her, that could wait until the end of the night.

They ended up spending an hour in that place, much to Laxus' disappointment, since by then, they had already changed topic, and he was back to normal. Normal being the usual aroused state, since seeing Lucy still could pretty much shake him up to that point, especially in her most formal dresses, and he knew in his suits, she felt the same thing for him.

They walked out of the restaurant they were in and Laxus grabbed Lucy's hand, inadvertently circling the rings on her fingers. Lucy felt this, and stared at the ground, a small smile on her face.

"Hey, Lucy? You okay there? Looks like you are about to cry."

"That may be because I am," she admitted, making Laxus start to worry about her, "Not out of sadness, of course, but just thinking about what you have done to me. I mean, do you remember the night you gave me these rings?"

Laxus thought back. Of course he remembered, he remembered it perfectly.

It happened two years after they started dating. Almost all of the guild's "pairings" (as Mirajane had put it) were engaged to somebody. Gajeel with Levy, Erza with Jellal, surprisingly, Mirajane herself with Bianca. The only people that were still dating were the two blonde mages of the guild, Laxus and Lucy.

Though the great period of only dating like they had, there were still no signs of anything to move it forward. They had already moved in together a year ago, they knew they loved each other, what was missing was that little detail, that little ring on her finger.

Because of this, it caused some sadness on the Master's heart. Except, by then, he was no longer the Master, Erza was, he was completely free of every worry, so he had more time to think about how he wouldn't get his grandson's wedding day any time soon, which meant his great-grandchildren were even further into the future. Could it get any worse than that?

The answer is yes, it could get worse and it was worse for a certain somebody. It was worse for Lucy.

Lucy knew from the beginning that Laxus wasn't somebody who would easily rush into a relationship. And knowing him, he probably thought that everything was fine, so what were the advantages of getting married? She understood that answer. It was something logical to consider the pro's and con's to something, but a marriage? That was different, to her it was, but she wasn't sure he understood that. So he couldn't see it, and she was trying to hide it as best as she could, but the truth was that Lucy was just so jealous of the women around her that were her age.

Every woman around her was gripping his boyfriend's arm or hand, and show to everyone the ring they had. The man seemed to feel proud, seemed to want to show it off to people everywhere. They were that much further into the relationship, so don't even try to come closer, you won't succeed at all.

It was soon a Saturday night, and like every other night, the couple was taking a walk together, at the dead of night. Lucy was leaning her head on Laxus' shoulder. At those times, she would forget about what it was that she was so jealous of. They could still hold hands and do everything that was romantic in the book, so what did the ring matter?

She didn't know, but she did knew that at the moment she would see another woman's ring, she would think to herself that she wants one. She would start to get mad at them being together like that. Why hadn't Laxus proposed to her yet? Why did Lucy care so much about it?

She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realise that they had diverged from their original route. She asked Laxus why they were going through that place, to which Laxus just shrugged and didn't make a big deal about it. She decided she didn't need to either, it was probably nothing. The most likely thing was that Laxus might want to take advantage of that one night, that had a clear sky, as opposed to the last nights that were really cloudy and not really good to walk in.

At a certain point, they were at a cliff, the moon right above them with all the stars around it. That was a beautiful portrait to be sure. She realised then that Laxus took her there. Laxus used this one chance to take her to see that beautiful landscape, she didn't need the ring for crap, she just needed him by her side. That's when she realised he wasn't by her side. As anyone would, she turned around, but didn't see him there, she looked at her front, and saw him again. Only this time, something was different.

He was kneeling, the moon and the stars above him, giving him a veil of light.

"Lucy," he said, "You know how much I love you, and I know full well how much you make me happy. I want to be that happy forever, and I realise that you're the one that makes me happy. Therefore, Lucy, I want you to be with me, forever. So, would you marry me?"

Tears swelled up in her eyes. He had just made the scenery a thousand times more beautiful. She just thought that she didn't need that ring. But what the hell was she thinking? This was her time to be greedier. She would use the crap out of that ring.

"Of course I will!" She hugged him, and kissed him on the forehead. But then, she couldn't help but giggle. "What took you so long anyway?"

"Weddings and these rings are expensive as fuck, might as well know that the scenery Nature gives is worth it."

"You still tear up about it?" Laxus asked.

"Of course I do, the diamond in that thing was huge," Lucy joked.

"Yeah, well, you're not getting any other, I can promise you that."

"I'm sure you can, but that reminds me of the way I told you I loved you for the first time. Six months after we started to date, and I already felt such powerful feelings for you, can you imagine it?"

"Yeah, well, six months is a long time, but you took three."

"Mumbling almost unrecognisable words while falling asleep doesn't count!"

"Of course it does, it is still how you feel."

"Oh, shut up. Officially, it was six months, the time I take to come out with it also counts, you know."

"Well, but it did work out for us that you said it in your sleep. Otherwise, I would have had a tough time to realise I felt the same about you. Just like I did when you had told me for the first time. Ended up taking a cold shower and trying to realise what I felt about you. I was ready for your confession when you told me that first time."

"I didn't tell you, I murmured, it's different."

"Whatever, at least I was prepared in advance."

"Yeah, I guess you were."

"But do you remember the way the guild reacted? God, that was annoying."

Of course she remembered that. To Laxus it would be, much like what he said, annoying, but he didn't realise something very important happened to her on that day.

They were entering the Fairy Tail Guild. It was the day just after they had admitted their love for each other. That meant that they were particularly happy that day, something that might be easy to notice for the people that knew the two of them well. Laxus didn't want to be bombarded with questions like he had been when they admitted to have kissed.

"Laxus," Lucy spoke, stopping both of them in their path to the door of the building.

"Yeah?"

"Yesterday, you said you loved me, right?"

"Yeah, I did, why?"

"Nothing, it's just now that you've admitted, the Dragon Slayers inside heard you." Lucy grinned. She knew that they would eventually find out, so there was no reason as to why they should keep it from them, they should just get those questions out as fast as possible, so that everybody could be like the usual again. On the other end, Laxus was just stunned at her, at how she had betrayed him. Did that woman just told everyone that they loved each other? No, she made him doing it. If she had done it, he could forgive her, but nooo, she just had to manipulate him into admitting it out loud. His last hope was that the guild was in a huge brawl and that they couldn't have heard him.

So they entered, and, for Laxus' misfortune, everyone was already looking at them. The couple was their prey, and Laxus knew he was going to be eaten alive in five seconds. You could do a lot in five seconds, maybe even escape in five seconds, but with Lucy's hold on him, that was out of the table. And like that, the five seconds were up.

Everyone was on them, and soon enough Laxus was separated from her love. He was now in the hold of who knows how many guildmates. And, if he knew Lucy like he did, she would be pissed at him if he electrocuted them all into submission, he just had to endure it. He thought to himself, "It's gonna be okay. I'm a fuckmothering Dragon Slayer. I will get through this and get back to Lucy and give her the punishment of a life time. I'm going to push her around my house until no piece of wall, furniture, whatever I name, is left without marks of us going at it!"

Soon after midday, he was finally allowed to go back by Lucy, mostly because it was time for their lunch. Lucy, however, seemed to look depressed, instead of the usual lit up state. Laxus assumed it had been just because of the fact that the women pretty much spent her and she was exhausted, so he just gave her room for her to sit down by his side.

"Anything wrong, Lucy?" He asked, as she sat down.

"No, don't-"

"Hey, Lucy!" Natsu called out from the distance.

"Natsu?" Lucy asked. He hadn't been with her for longer than what she had wanted. In those six months, all they did was the polite greeting, other than that, nothing. It was completely the opposite of what she wanted when she broke up with him.

"Sorry I couldn't congratulate you before, you two seemed to be busy, so I just kept quiet. Anyway, I'm happy for you two, you deserve to be with each other!" Natsu grinned, "Just like I deserve to be with my girlfriend, Juvia!" Everyone stopped eating, and everyone looked at Natsu and Juvia, who was walking carefully to be next to Natsu.

"You two are together?!" Lucy asked.

"Seems fitting, a guy who doesn't know about privacy and a yandere. Good for you." Laxus congratulated, but deep down he was over the moon. Natsu distracted everyone with the little announcement, they would be the ones on the spotlight, and now they had the whole afternoon.

"Wait, what's a yandere?" Natsu asked, obviously tense over what he was probably assuming to be an insult.

"A yandere is like a fictional character that has this obsession with somebody, the usual yandere adores everything about a certain man, will chase after him, fight for him against impossible odds, literally or figuratively, and try to keep anyone from going near her loved one. Juvia isn't that much of a yandere, but she is somewhat."

"Hehe," Juvia laughed," Sounds like me all right." Seeing her laugh made Natsu stop being so tensed, and relaxed.

"Well, bye Lucy. And if you guys want, we wouldn't mind going on a mission with you."

"Yeah, sure, one of these days!" Lucy said, joyfully. Suddenly, she didn't seem so depressed any more to Laxus, and he wondered if it was because Natsu found himself somebody, must have been.

They soon arrived to their two story house, and as Lucy went to open the door, Laxus couldn't help but let out a little laugh.

"What?" Lucy asked.

"God, do you remember the way you reacted when you saw my house for the first time?"

"I do not see any problems or anything humorous to the way I reacted when I first looked at your house, which was around the week after we started dating."

"Oh really, nothing funny?"

"Not at all, it was the perfectly normal response to the sight of your house."

"Is that so? Yeah I guess starting to tremble, grip my hand like it was your lifeline, and starting to mumble things like 'Ohmygod, you have a house!' or 'And you don't even need to pay rent!' is perfectly normal."

"Yes, it is, and as I said, I see no problems with the way I reacted," she repeated, but then mumbled, "and it's not like your house is what a normal 24-year-old would buy."

"There, there," he said, having obviously heard her.

"Don't you 'there, there' me! If we're going to talk about reactions, how about your reaction when you find out I was having twins?!"

"That was a perfectly sound reaction that does not in any way or form deserve to be laughed at."

"Laxus, I'd get it if you came to me and told me that you were secretly happy over being able to have two children instead of one, and considering the way you were before I was even pregnant, I'd pretty much say that you would reluctantly accept them. But nope, you started to spin me around in happiness, which made me feel pretty relieved, and then you opened your mouth and said-"

"-That it was the best news ever. As a soon-to-be parent, I thought I had done the right thing, did I not?"

"You did, but for entirely wrong motives! You said that you were happy because you only had to do everything once and got two, and even compared it to a supermarket promotion of take-2-pay-1!"

"We only had one year filled with sleepless nights, two years and half of changing diapers. By doing things we would have already done with one, we got two instead, and they were two boys! They like the same things for the most part, and have only a few feuds! I would say that is perfect!"

"A FREAKING SUPERMARKET PROMOTION!"

"THERE FUCKING THERE!"

Lucy sighed, she knew the fight would break out as soon as she said it, but wanted to put her foot down, especially once you consider the way he reacted to the way he did when he told her she wanted to have her kids.

"You want what now?" Laxus asked her. They were face-to-face in the day after their wedding anniversary. They got into the habit of going to the restaurant where they had their first date the day after something important happened, since in that day, the guild would make a huge celebration whether they liked it or not.

"I want to have a family, don't you think it is time for us to have one, to grow our little one?" Lucy asked in response.

"Look Lucy, I love you and all, but don't you think it is still too early for us? Like, that way, we're going to be the first ones to have the kids from the whole guild."

"We both know that's not the reason you don't want one, we were one of the first ones to get married and you didn't complain."

"I wasn't allowed to, and the only reason we were the first ones was because of the way that Gramps and Mirajane got together in planning it."

"But what are your true reasons?"

"First of all, and as I mentioned earlier, we're still to young for this. Second of all, we have no idea how to raise any kids, because neither of us have been close to one. Third of all, they seem to be a huge pain the butt, when they are young, they might be cute and all, but come the adolescence and they get pretty broody and emo-"

"Were you like that when you were a teenager?"

"Were you not? Anyway, we also have the fourth reason, which is that we don't know the damage our parents left us."

"Is that what you are worried about? Laxus, nothing's gonna happen, you're not gonna be like your father."

"You can't really talk here. We're in the same situation, both our mothers died, then our fathers sucked when we were growing up. So how do you know if you're not messed up too?"

"The fact that you so easily speak of our 'problems' shows that you don't have them. I'm just guessing here, but I would say that it would take a lot more feelings involved in you trying to figure out what was wrong with yourself. I'll say you just used that to try to talk me out of it, which won't work.

"Now the real reason. I'd say it would be the one you mentioned twice: we are too young."

"It is true, I mean, we are, and all the other reasons were true as well."

"Yeah, but they were second and third, this is the first one that went to your mind. Now look, Laxus, no jokes this time, you hear me. All right, why are you so nervous for getting older?" Laxus gulped, but he knew that there was no way out of this, and she deserved the truth, he loved her after all.

"I think we are too young to handle this responsibility. This is the time where we can enjoy our lives, not to be worrying about the next generation-"

"I see," Lucy interrupted. Her eyes turned tender, she had that look that just warmed Laxus' heart, she got closer to him, and tried to kiss him with all of her feelings behind it. She succeeded, as he could feel them, he could feel that wonderful love behind that beautiful woman.

"Laxus, you don't want to take this step because you're worried about time, aren't you? You're worried about how we'll turn such a big page, turn into real adults. Having kids will just be that reminder to you, won't it? Seeing them grow right before your eyes will make you aware of your own age. You mentioned adolescence, it is the time where kids go fast and strong when it comes to growing. As soon as it starts, you'll already be seeing yourself packing their bags and helping them move out of the house, which just makes you worried about yourself. Listen to me, Laxus, it's going to be okay, you can believe it, because I'll always be there for you."

Lucy was smiling all the way as she said those words, and Laxus knew this, he knew that what she said was right on the money. He knew that time would just fly by, and he was worried because he wanted more with her. He wanted more time with her, more than just some years, he wanted more lifetimes with her. And he wouldn't have them, just the one. He felt the tears swell up in his eyes, and just quickly brushed them off with his sleeve. She was right, of course she was.

"You know, I miss the times when I would be the one to do the sweet talk," Laxus admitted. He made Lucy giggle, and that small laugh made it possible for him, maybe, just maybe, having one lifetime was enough, "Fine, Lucy, let's do it."

Both Laxus and Lucy had stopped their little feud and were in their bed together, still fully clothed and above the covers. They were in each other's hold, silently enjoying each other's company, until Laxus spoke again.

"Y'know, I'm happy you made me go want to have those kids. I guess it is fulfilling to see them laugh, see their eyes, smell their body scents, see them go through life just like we did. And it was pretty funny seeing them struggle with which magic they wanted, this year."

"Well, Kyouma knew from the beginning that he wanted to be like his father and have Lightning Magic. It was more Okabe who didn't, the poor guy had been struggling the whole summer over it."

"It is a tough choice, no matter how you look at it. And you were urging him to pick randomly-"

"-I told him and I'll tell you, it doesn't matter the magic you have, what matters is knowing how to use it and to improve it."

"You really think a twelve year old boys would get that logic. Of course not, I had to be the one to intervene and make him think of what he wanted to fight other enemies with, he immediately said Light Magic, so my job was done much better than yours ever was."

"Yeah, you did great, I have to admit it."

"No, Lucy." Laxus kissed her as lovingly as he could. "We did well." He did it again.

"Yeah, we did." Lucy kissed him back.

The two loved each other, and along the time, they had known exactly how to express their feelings, not through words, but by their actions. The couple might have its feuds, some big, some small, but they will always return be together, and express themselves through the power behind their kisses and caresses.

They would always love each other.

As requested, here you have the epilogue, tell me what you thought of it in the reviews. Also, I wanna say that I won't leave this site completely, I might come back, might upload small one-shots every once in a while, but with school coming along, I won't have the time to make these big stories again, so I have to go back to simple, short stories.

And that was all I wanted to say, hoped you all enjoyed the story, and hope none of you got disappointed here :D

Bye!
