You didn't ask for it. You got it. Buoyed by the mediocre success of my first fic (Someone even read it all aloud on YOUTUBE for goodness sake) I decide to write a wholly unnecessary sequel. WOO HOO. It should keep me off the streets, if nothing else. As always... Gravity Falls belongs to Disney, Waddles belongs to Mabel and You Belong With Me is a very annoying song. HULK SMASH!

CHAPTER 1. HOW IT ALL BEGAN

It had been a very active week for one Pacifica Northwest. Not only had she managed to save an entire mansion of party guests from a vengeful lumberjack spirit, and discovered her family name was a complete sham when stumbling across a room full of sick memorabilia, but she'd also managed to escape the clutches of her tyrannical parents... And she was now safely ensconced in the Mystery Shack, in the comparably warm bosom of the Pines family and friends. She'd left behind all her fancy clothes and trinkets, the only money she possessed was now made by showing guests around the aforementioned tourist trap and even her blonde hair dye was back at her old mansion.

But she was happy. Happy that she no longer had to play the part of the stuck-up princess. Happy that she was making decisions for herself. Happy that she was surrounded by people who appreciated her for who she WAS. And most of, happy that she would never have to hear the sound of that dreadful bell ever again. Stan may get upset with her sometimes, but she could deal with the occasional argument. She WAS the queen of sass, after all. At least she was actually able to air her thoughts, as opposed to shutting up as to as that dreadful 'Tingly Tingly' sound was heard.

She was sharing a room with the twins, in a sleeping bag on the floor. After hearing all she'd been through, both Dipper and Mabel had offered her their beds... But she wouldn't hear anything of the sort. If she wanted to restore her family's name, as she promised a certain phantom before he vanished, she would have to learn to change herself. This meant not dressing like a diva at every given oppotunity, not putting on enough make-up to shame a clown, and letting her natural raven locks shine through. It would be an uphill struggle to undo years of manipulative programming, but it was a fight she was determined to win.

It was during a deep soliloquy that she came up with the idea. She was thinking back over her past behaviour, and even though she realised it was mostly down to a combination of a naive want to impress her parents and their terrible upbringing of her, she couldn't help but feel guilty of the way she'd bullied and harrassed others when she was still that Alpha Bitch stereotype everyone loved to hate. Especially as the main victim of her misdemeanors was a certain braces-sporting pig-owning free spirit known as Mabel Pines... A member of the family who were so kind to give her a roof over her head when she had nowhere else to go.

The two had become pretty good friends since her unscheduled arrival in the shack. When arriving, and explaining the situation to Grunkle Stan, he seemed very reluctant to let someone who'd picked on his favourite niece mercilessly stay for any length of time, regardless of her tragic circumstances. But Dipper, as he had promised, had backed her up... And unbelievably, Mabel too was just as enthusiastic about having a new 'sleeping buddy'. "After all the crap I've put her through" she thought at the time. Eventually, Stan relented under the pressure... Mostly due to Mabel's adorable puppy-dog eyes.

But of course, he told her she would have to be put to work... On a wage that was half what the other employees were on. "The other half pays for your food and lodging" said the fez sporting pensioner. Stan was shocked when Pacifica accepted these terms almost straight away... He really thought that the 'snob' would have ran back crying to her daddy. But Stan underestimated just how much she loved being FREE. Such a reward was worth more than all the gold and precious gems in the world. She just didn't fully appreciate it until now...

As for the other inhabitants of the shack, Soos was cool as always with pretty much everything... And even gave her a little pep talk regarding the bad experiences he'd had with his own dad. Wendy heard about Pacifica's escapades with the lumberjack and was VERY impressed... Not to mention grateful for helping out someone who was probably a distant relative of hers. So, despite initial reservations, she settled in quite nicely... The only problem she had was of course, not having a room to herself. Apparently, the secret room discovered by Soos was now being utilised by Stan for 'secret experiments'. Pacifica it was not a good idea to ask too many questions. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, and all that.

Suddenly, as it had happened with the bird on her window sill, something just popped in her head. "I can make it alright" She smiled inwardly. It was a brave and brilliant scheme, that would take a lot of effort to pull off. But she needed to square things with her new adopted family, (mostly, a certain person) and if she wanted to look in the mirror and say honestly to herself she was changing the tainted Northwest name for the better, she'd have to start with taking responsibilites for her own actions, and remedying them if she could.

So, she picked up the phone...
