"Harry! Ron!" screamed Hermione as they turned to look at her. They both smiled as they saw her descend the stairs. Hermione's stomach did a little flip when she saw him smile.
Hermione inwardly sighed, these past days it was becoming even harder to see him smile. She wasn't supposed to like him. It was definitely out of the blue; it wasn't normal. So as a result she spend far more time time in the Library than usual. She mentally cursed herself because all she ever had for him was brotherly feeling's. When had they become more?
"Ready to go?" asked Ron grinning. It was their first Hogsmeade trip after the war, and everyone was excited.
"Yes," she smiled back the joyous atmosphere was quickly made their way down to the village.
"Want to go to Honeydukes?" asked Harry smiling looking at the shop's direction.
"Sure!" Hermione replied a little too fast and enthusiastically. Merlin! I seemed too eager, she thought. Harry did tilt his head to the side his eyes questioning a little but Ron seemed oblvious like ever.
"Can't wait! I'm running low on my stash! Race you there!" Ron managed out before pushing Harry out of the way so he could take the lead.
Hermione and Harry shared a dubious look before running after him. As they got to the shop their cheeks were pink and flushed from laughing on the way. They spotted their red-haired friend pushing through the crowd already collecting tons of sweets. They tried to push their way into the crowd but apparently being the Chosen One did not get you into a sweets shop. Their final attempt was in vain. Harry suddenly pulled Hermione out of the crowd and into the road.
"It's too crowded, isn't it?" asked Harry then he released her hand. Hermione felt a little sad as he let go.
"Yes," she answered hoping she blushing yet at the thought of Harry and her hand intertwining.
"Why don't we leave Ron there for a bit?" he said giving her a charming smile, "I have something to show you."
"Um, Yeah I'd love to see it," replied Hermione scolding herself for using the word love. Surely, she was blushing now but how couldn't she be? He asked her out by herself! Wait, this was Harry he only thought of her as a sister.
"Great," he said, and took her hand as he lead her. She could feel the heat rushing to to her cheeks.
"I'm really glad you decided to come with me," he said releasing a dashing smile. Beat-Beat-Beat- -Beat. Her heart skipped a beat as he turned his eyes on her. She mumbled "You're Welcome."
Harry let go of her hand then he stood in front of her opening his arms wide, "Here it is."
"Wow, it's beautiful," she said awestruck. He had taken her to a little flower meadow and it was amazing.
"So, Hermione, I've wanted to tell you something for a really long time now," he said then took a deep breath, "You are the most talented witch I've ever had the pleasure to meet. The way you concentrate before you cast a spell is amazing. Your determination, and your way of standing for what you believe me is admirable in so many way's."
Hermione felt herself go crimson in response to Harry's earnest eyes and wide smile. "Come sit here beside me," said Harry patting the space next to him. She sat next to him taking precaution not to fall, She was over-the-moon happy. He picked a four-leaf clover beside him and placed it in her hands.
"I've had the tremendous privilege and honor knowing you. Without you I would have been long dead. Here take this four-leaf clover because I'm giving back some of the little bit of luck that you've given me," he stopped momentarily. She gazed at the clover in her hands. What luck?,"I was so lucky to meet you all those years ago. I was so lucky you gave Ron and I another chance to get to know you better. I was so lucky that I got to know the real you. You've given me countless of luck that I would never have time to say it all, but now I'm asking you if you would give me a little bit more luck, and Say you'll go out with me?"
Hermione's heart was beating ridiculously fast, and at his last words she forgot to breath. She was ecstatically liked her, too!
"Harry," she said breathlessly," Of course I'll go out with you! You've made me a lucky girl."
She threw her arms around him causing them to tumble backwards. He instantly hugged her back. no doubt about it. They both laughed breathlessly this time as they lay together in a patch of four-leaf clovers. They gazed fondly into each other's eyes.
"We're a lucky pair, aren't we?" Harry said as Hermione laughed again.
And with that they kissed.
