A/N:
Hai! This is a oneshots collection about how Sakura meets Sasuke in different scenarios. I'm accepting suggestions.
Please leave me a review with your opinion.
I hope you enjoy the first one!
I can't see. Is this the so called 'death'? Does my life really end here?
Wait a minute.
Maybe if I just try to open my eyes...
Ugh, my body hurts. All of my muscles. I can't move my fingers.
Open your eyes, c'mon Sasuke.
If you're thinking, you must be alive.
"Uchiha-san?" A female voice asks.
His eyes open and all he can see is a blurry picture. The lights start to assemble. A face finally appears.
Green eyes. That is the first thing that he lays his own onyx orbs on. Big, green eyes. And beautiful, short -pink?- hair. Then he hears a beep, an then another beep. White walls and monitors welcome him. He can also see a catheter on his arm, and something like patches on his chest. A grey hospital gown is the only cloth that covers his sore body.
So I'm at the hospital.
His eyes narrow at the little, pretty girl that watches him carefully.
"Uchiha-san, I see that you are now concious." There is a little bit of relief in her small smile.
Cold, hospital lights make the room look like a fridge, but there is one curious light beam coming from the window, reaching the pink haired girl, and he can hear his heart beating. She looks like she is in her early twenties. She is short, and slim, and kind of beautiful. Just kind of.
Maybe she is an angel.
Nah, she is just annoying.
"Do you feel any pain?" She takes a few steps to him, but stays still a bit away from his bed.
"No." His voice is raspy. He would have some water to clear his throat, but he is not going to show that he is actually feeling weak.
I'm the Konoha's Police Chief, for God's sake.
"Can you remember why you are here?"
"I had an accident." He admits, his gaze on his lap.
The noise of the metal shattering. My teammate flying through the car window. A crystal shard piercing my chest. Did that truck get destroyed too?
"Yes." She takes a look at something written on a blue notebook.
Blue is my favorite color. It reminds me of Naruto's eyes. That dobe.
"Uchiha-san, I'm doctor Haruno." She sits on a chair next to his bed, and her eyes briefly switch to the beeping monitors to check on his vitals. "I'm a cardio surgeon here at Konoha Hospital and-"
"You're too young." He lazily closes his eyes before gazing at her again.
"Excuse me?" She frowns, confused.
"You don't look like a doctor."
Now she will get mad. And will storm off the room. I will finally enjoy the silence.
She gets up and walks to the door. As she grabs her little, blue notebook, she turns her delicate face to him, a triumphal smile on her rosy lips. His eyes widen a little bit with surprise. He can now appreciate her white coat and a blue, comfy uniform underneath it.
She is amused. And she is has too many blue things.
"I'm used to my patients telling me that, don't worry." The girl sighs and her voice turns to a more profesional tone. "You had a crystal shard dangerously close to your heart so I removed it. I also took care of the tiny, almost-invisible shards that were located next to your principal veins." She hesitates. "However, we almost lost you once during the surgery so you will be staying two more weeks here, and I recommend you to take it easy for at least one month. Nurse Yamanaka phoned your brother and he will be here soon." Her forest green eyes watch his onyx orbs like a child would look a wounded bird. "Do you have any questions?"
Itachi sure is worried. He didn't want me to try to catch that rat. Now he won't leave me alone.
"Why am I okay?"
"What?"
"My bones aren't broken, there are only few bruises on my skin." His eyes narrow, questioningly.
"I guess that you are one lucky man." She smiles softly and turns to leave. "If you need something just push the red button next to your bed, and nurse Yamanaka will come here in a second."
Annoying woman.
"Haruno." He calls her.
"Yes?"
"How is my teammate?"
Her gaze is locked on the doorknob. She hides her face from him.
"He is critical, but my coworkers are working on it." She suddenly turns to him, and he sees her smile again. Something painful stabs his heart. There is only desperate hope on her lips. "You two did a good job trying to catch that criminal." She hesitates. "Too bad he is dead now."
"Hn."
"Anyways, I have some work to do!" Her voice grows cheerful. Too bad it is kind of fake. She searches for his eyes once more before leaving. "I hope I won't have to fix your heart again."
What kind of goodbye is that?
Now I can finally close my eyes.
Hn, annoying pink haired doctor.
It's late, 1 am probably. The bar is almost full of people dancing, flirting with each other and talking cheerfully. She is the only one watching closely her drink and sitting on a stool as far away from the crowd as she could be.
Why the hell did I even come here in the first place?
Her pink hair is short, a cute bob cut that suits her heartshaped face perfectly. She keeps ignoring the sugestive looks men throw her.
I shouldn't have worn this clothes. My skirt is short, and my shirt shows my cleavage.
But she doesn't care. Tonight is her night off, and she well deserved it. Drowning her sorrows in tequila never looked so appealing.
The Chief is so wrong. I can handle two more surgeries tonight. It's not like it's the first time I lose a patient on that cold operating room.
"Doctors shouldn't drink alcohol." A male voice appears next to her.
She then watches as a tall, dark haired man sits on the stool next to her. He's wearing a plain deep blue shirt and jeans.
He's damn hot. I should just probably blame that I'm already on my third drink tonight.
"Hai, Uchiha-sama." Her bottle green eyes welcome his onyx orbs. "I guess your 'take it easy'-month is over."
"You are too young for tequila." He says calmly and orders himself a beer.
"Well, shit happens." Her lips curve into a sad smile.
"Bad day?"
"It had been five months since the last time I lost someone." She mutters and takes a gulp of her drink.
He drinks half of his beer, and they both stay silent. She wishes that he doesn't pity her. She wouldn't stand it.
"Your name is Sakura." He just states it.
Stop looking at me with those eyes. They are too calm, and beautiful.
"It's unfair if you guess it by my hair's color." She laughs softly.
"Well, you can't blame me, I'm a genius." A sexy smirk takes over his lips.
"You wil call me Sakura and I will call you Sasuke. No hospital and no police tonight." She offers him her hand. "Deal?"
He lightly shakes her hand, his eyes dancing with amusement.
"So what are you doing here on your own, Sasuke?" She asks, and downs all the remaining tequila in her glass.
"I could ask you the same."
"But I already told you."
I like this song, but I can't listen to it if he doesn't stop being so handsome. Ah, sweet tequila.
"I was tired of working."
"Bad day?" She smiles sweetly.
"Hn."
Sakura watches his gaze locked on his beer, and something clicks in her mind.
If fate wanted me to meet him tonight, it must mean something. Maybe I should take it easy too, and let it all go.
"I'm Haruno Sakura, a cardio surgeon in Konoha Hospital, and I'm twenty-five years old." She laughs softly when his eyes question her, growing curious. "I come to this bar when I'm upset, or sad, or tired of everything. I come alone to drink tequila, dance and forget that I can't save every single pacient." She smiles at him. "Now it's your turn."
"You are annoying." He says, but his lips cuve into a small, amused smile. And just when she thinks that he is going to leave her there, he opens his mouth. "I'm Uchiha Sasuke, Chief of Konoha's Police. I come here when I'm tired of my life and I only drink beer."
"That's great! Nice to meet you!" She laughs when he lifts one eyebrow. "Now let's dance!"
"I don't dance." He scowls.
"C'mon Sasuke, just for tonight!"
She carelessly grabs his hand and pulls him to the small dancefloor. They walk through the crowd and find a spot near the center.
His hand is warm, and large. I need to look up to see his eyes. And he is beautiful, and handsome, and kind of funny.
Maybe that is what she needs in her life. Maybe this is what was missing in her perfect plan. Meeting a patient on a bar, at random winter night. Dancing freely under the soft lights of a bar. Looking at his eyes and forgetting about what is happening around them.
I just need something that wasn't planned.
