Chapter 3: Ultimatums
"Is this a joke?" Broly's face scrunched as Hela finally finished speaking. The sheer nerve she possessed was astounding, even for a supposed Goddess. "If you've really been stalking me, then you'll know I'll never agree to something like this."
"Observing," Hela corrected. She did not appreciate his tone. "You have proven yourself worthy."
"Worthy of being trapped in Hel for eternity," Broly's eyes rolled as he folded his arms. "What a wonderful reward."
Hela scowled at the sarcasm oozing from his words. She could have left him to die in the bleak void of space. But instead, she had been unreasonably merciful. "Would you have preferred death?"
The Saiyan frowned. As much as he hated to admit it, Hela did have a point. "No." He finally admitted.
"I thought so," A cocky smirk settled onto her face. "You are indebted to me."
Broly did not appreciate the scheming glint behind her eyes. She spoke as if she owned him. "You may have rescued me, but how can that possibly result in an eternal debt?" Laws and politics had never been his field of knowledge, but this did not seem just in the slightest.
"Do you remember you deeds and actions before I rescued you?"
"No."
"And that is because I spared you of those horrors and torments. You were a rabid animal, an uncontrollable beast, a scourge upon the..."
"Yeah, yeah I get your point," Broly cut her off. She loved weaving fanciful descriptions for the simplest things. "I was a bad person."
"Bad is far too kind a word for you."
"Instead of chastising me, just spit out what you mean to say." Broly huffed in annoyance. He was not some wayward child.
The Saiyan's insolence would have normally spelled destruction. Hela was not one to suffer incivility. But oddly enough she found his total lack of regard, amusing. He was one of the few brave souls who cared little for her threats. He spoke to her as if they were equals.
"Your life before I saved you was worthless."
"Worthless?" Broly parroted as he sat up in his chair. "I'm getting tired of your insults."
"As am I," Hela frowned. Their feisty personalities were at constant odds. "When I say these things I am merely speaking the truth."
"How could my life have been so abhorrent? Why did you rescue me then?"
"In truth, your actions were not always your fault. Your great powers drove you to the brink of lunacy."
"My great powers?"
"You can feel it, can't you? The dormant energy waiting to burst free. Swelling underneath your skin even as we talk."
Hela was indeed right. That light spar earlier had only been a tease of his true abilities. He knew he was powerful, but just how powerful was the question in doubt.
"What am I capable of?"
"Your destroyed entire civilizations. Planets, stars, solar systems and abundance of other things were vaporized by your might."
"Wow," Broly mumbled as he examined his hands. But why would he do such things? "Was there some kind of foe I was battling? Why would I cause such wanton destruction."
"Because you're evil!" The Goddess of death burst into laughter. Her mental cleansing had really fooled him. Just what did he think he was? "You were no hero."
"I can agree that I'm not the heroic type," Broly cared little for lives outside of his own. "But I find hard to believe that I caused wanton destruction."
"I see now that I will be unable to get through to you unless I materialize your deeds," Hela sighed as she rested a cheek on her palm. "Let me be clear here though; you asked for it."
Snapping a finger, gaseous green elements began to arise from ground. Broly's eyes quickly darted around as the gas began to take shape. It almost looks like...me? With each passing second, the gas began to structure, shaping into a familiar looking man. Wait, it is me! The Saiyan finally discerned as a hulking figure floated beside Hela.
"That's me?" The Saiyan questioned in disbelief. The being shared some facial similarities with him, but his height was a massive nine feet.
"Yes, and no," Hela replied. "As far as I can determine, that is your mutated form. The very reason for your insanity."
"You're not making much sense."
"He is you, but another part of you. I guess you could say he's the monster which lies within. In that form you had no control over yourself. The power was too much for you to handle."
"You're speaking as though it's not inside me anymore, though."
"It is, but I have removed the aspect of it which drove you mad," Hela proudly stated. "I would never have a monster like this wreaking havoc in my kingdom."
"It was unnecessary," Broly had asked for no such help. "I didn't require it."
The Goddess could feel a large tick mark beginning to form. He had the audacity to be disrespectful even after what she had done for him? He should have been on his knees kissing the very ground she walked on!
"I can see why your father got rid of you." Broly's bumptious attitude could get underneath anyone's skin.
"Don't mention him," The Saiyan grimaced as he thought of Paragus. He was responsible for the predicament he was now in. "I will have my revenge though."
"And just how do you expect to do that?"
"By finding him and killing him obviously." The Saiyan said matter-of-factly.
"You do realize that you're in another Universe right? Your father doesn't exist here."
"But you brought me here," Broly contested. "You must have the power to return me home."
"Home? What home?" Hela asked incredulously. His own father had tried to kill him! "What exactly will you even be returning to? A father who hates you? A galaxy which fears you? Things are far better here."
The Saiyan paused contemplating her words. Assuming he did kill his father, then what? Where would he go from there? What would do with the rest of his life? Well, that was assuming he was still alive.
"I am still alive right?"
"Indeed, you are. I spared you my touch."
"Then send me back!" Her domain was only over the dead, she had no legal right over him. "I'm not one of those unfortunate souls down here."
"How many times much I stress the fact that you are indebted to me?" It was like talking to a brick wall. "You shouldn't even exist in this reality, technically I can whatever I want with you."
"I am not some toy!" Broly growled as he stood up from his seat. If she would not send him back, he would simply force her to.
"Are you going to attempt to fight me? In my own realm? Intelligence must not be one of your strong points."
That's it!
The son of Paragus had enough! Charging at the Goddess, Broly outstretched a fist as he surged forward. Hela remained impassive as ever, simply smirking as the appendage rocketed towards her. Simply blinking, the Saiyan's fist was caught in a green barrier. Broly was sent tumbling back into his seat as Hela waved her hand.
"In my realm I queen. I am the absolute ruler with infinite power. It would serve you well to remember that." Helheim was her domain. Only a fool would dare challenge her with all the powers she possessed here.
Slamming back into his seat Broly groaned as he shook his head. Lesson learned. If he wanted to pummel her into the ground, he would need to escape this hellhole. But first, he would need to learn about his surroundings. He didn't appreciate being flung like a rag doll.
"You keep mentioning realms and your domain. Where exactly am I?"
"You are in Helheim, the abode of the dead. I am its ruler, the Goddess of death."
"No wonder you're so cheerful." Broly snorted. Her temperament was to be expected after being forced to live down here.
"Yes, this realm is rather dreary. I have long since grown bored of being here. It is the same boring routine day after day. The dead can only provide so much entertainment."
"Then why don't you leave?" The answer seemed simple enough to Broly. He hadn't been here that long, but he was already craving reprieve.
"I am the Goddess of death, I cannot abandon my duties no matter how badly I may want to. I have pondered it a hundred times over, but I simply cannot."
"You can't find a replacement or something?"
"You fail to realize the importance of my job. If I abandon my post, all of reality will suffer. I am an integral part of the nature of life."
"Well, that sucks for you." Broly had never been tasked with such responsibility. He was far too rebellious to listen to what anyone had to say.
"But that is why I have brought you here."
"And what reason is that?"
"You will be my companion or servant for all of eternity. It all depends on you really."
"Like hell, I will!" Hela was insane if she thought he would comply with her wishes. He would not be a footstool like the Saiyans had been for Frieza.
"You don't have very many options, unfortunately." Hela said with a careless shrug. Besides her, who even knew he existed?
"I will not be your servant!" The Saiyan's teeth grated as he pointed at the Goddess.
"I didn't merely say servant, a companion is an option also. The choice resides in your hands though," Hela stated as she crossed her fingers together. "If you comply willingly, then complete servitude will not be what I require of you."
"And by companionship, what do you mean?" The Saiyan asked with an arched brow.
"As I have said before, I have grown lonely in my solitude. I need someone to keep me company. To have an occasional conversation with. Just to have normal interaction with. The dead cannot appease me."
"Why can't you just use of those skeleton warriors?" If she was so powerful, why didn't she simply create what she was looking for?
"Because it would not be the same. I will not cheat myself of what I deserve."
"But you will threaten me with me with forceful coercion." Broly's said sarcastically. Her line of thinking was something else.
"I don't know why you are so apprehensive I am offering you something you have never received before." With her might, Hela could give the Saiyan practically anything he desired. All he had to do was entertain her.
"I don't find the idea of being trapped with you in Hel pleasurable." How many times would he have to stress this? No sane individual would want to be here.
"Ah, I get it you're just being shy."
"Shy?" Broly was many things but bashful was not one of them.
"This is the longest you've been alone with a woman" Hela smirked.
"Just what are you trying to imply?" The Saiyan did not like where this conversation was headed.
"I know you Broly. When I cleansed you of your insanity I accessed your memories. You're a virgin."
"T-That has nothing to do with you!" For the first time during their conversation, Broly was at a loss for words. She was correct, but that was information he did not feel like sharing.
"You cannot hide the truth from me Broly, I've already seen it. In fact, you've never even kissed a woman before." Paragus had never granted Broly the opportunity to dabble in anything romantic. It was hard to interact with the opposite gender when you were busy slaughtering lives.
"Shut up!" A flustered Broly countered. "Such things are beneath me anyways."
"Oh, hush," Hela groaned. "You have the same sexual desires as every other heterosexual male. You just haven't had the opportunity to explore them." Most males in Asgard had already lost their virginity by Broly's age.
"Are you soliciting me?" The shock was evident in the Saiyan's voice. Hela hadn't struck him as that kind of woman.
"No, I am not some cheap whore," Loki's daughter bitterly replied. "All I am saying is that such possibilities are available to you here."
Gazing at her figure Broly couldn't deny her beauty. Though her outfit covered her body from head to toe, her curvaceous figure still stood out. Most men would have found her attractive.
"I shall give you time to think," Hela said as she arose from her chair. "It is merely something for you to ponder as I take my leave. Think well Broly."
And with those parting words the Goddess vanished, leaving the Saiyan to contemplate.
A big thank you to everyone who reviewed chapter 2!
Q/A:
Jackalope89: Broly will eventually meet the Avengers and the larger Marvel Universe. Hela is just is launching pad. There was no mention of Kakarot because he's directly tied to Broly's insanity, which Hela removed.
Low level saiyan: Yes, the Bardock story will be rewritten. I liked it, but the premise was too cliché. Creating your own Universe is fun, and more interesting that rehashing old plots.
Nikola the Einstein: Honestly, I'm not quite sure where Broly would fall in the Marvel hierarchy.I guess we'll both find out when he meets some of those aforementioned characters. Knowing Tony Stark he probably will build a Broly-Buster suit, capable of Ki absorption and all. As far as Broly's virginity, that was lightly touched on in this chapter lol.
Baller King: Hel will be Broly's stomping grounds for the time being. He'll eventually explore greener pastures though.
