A young woman in a black dress with golden ivy like decal on the bodice walked gracefully across the floor towards me, wearing a black tux, man I hate this but it's just for one night. It's a formal dance she was invited to by friends of her late parents and of course I'm her plus one. A smile graced my face as I took her hand and gracefully dance with her; a smile flittering across her face as we continue to dance, the last part I twirl her around, she let goes of my hand and disappears into the black shadows, always at this point I remembered she's gone and I'm standing there, holding the golden ribbon she wore in her hair. And with this the dream ends.
A young man wakes up to his apartment, he sighed again before getting up and opening the glass doors to balcony overlooking the river of his hometown. He's late girlfriend's apartment was a couple of blocks over, they were planning to move in together. But that was now a bitter dream, one that the young man now gave up upon. Sighing he went over to a flower pot and pulled out a box of cigarettes and a lighter. Lighting it and sucking in the deadly smoke before breathing it out, shaking his head as he remembered when the smoke became a source of comfort in times of turmoils. It was a habit that his girlfriend tried to rid him of many a time
"Sorry" he said putting it out before he decided to go back to bed and sleep until morning; while thinking about what he could do if he went back in time. "Night hime" he said drifting off to sleep. When he was asleep a small light appeared and landing on his finger dying down to reveal a ring with a green emblem.
The phone was ringing as the young male tried to get to sleep
"Bastard of a thing!" he growled grabbing it and answering it "Hello" he said casually
"Naruto dear, I'm outside do you mind opening the door so I can come up?" a voice Naruto thought he would never hear again rang in his ears
"Mami? But what are you doing here?'
"It is Wednesday remember; I come over so I can cook you breakfast and walk to school together" Mami answered making Naruto even more puzzled. It was Wednesday yesterday making today Thursday, so he looked at his calendar making sure this was a dream when he confirmed it was indeed Wednesday, only it was a Wednesday from three weeks ago. Basically he had somehow gone back in time two weeks before her death.
"What the?" he asked sliding his hand over his face when he felt the ring on his hand, 'When did that get there.' "Sorry hime I was half asleep" Naruto said as he opened the door for his girlfriend. "There you are, I'll be getting ready okay?
"Sure thing sweetie" Mami said.
Once he gotten off the phone with his beloved Naruto freaked out.
"Okay WHAT'S GOING ON, I've somehow travelled backwards in time, I'm wearing a weird ring, my dead girlfriend is alive and to top it off I HAVE NO CLUE HOW IT HAPPENED!" he shouted before he suddenly came upon something mentally, "So I summoned this ring here by my willpower, also this thing is a power ring of the green lantern corp. who are an intergalactic police force, okay then, why me?" Naruto asked as he grabbed his gear to get ready for school; suddenly getting the answer. "Oh, that's why?" he said.
"Naruto, Breakfast is ready" Mami said
"Coming my dear" Naruto said pulling on a pair of fingerless gloves hiding the ring.
After breakfast the young couple walked to school. However Naruto noticed something walking besides Mami, a weird white thing, something the ring filled him in on, that was an Incubator; something Naruto didn't realise Mami had connections with it especially after what the ring told him about their race and goals. He noted to his self that he should try something with the rat.
"Is something wrong?"
"Since when can your plushie walk?" Naruto asked making Kyubey stop
"You can see him?" Mami said
"Yeah, have been since we've been walking; so what or who is he?" Naruto asked as Mami was about to answer
"Hey Mami!" a voice called out belonging to a young pinked hair girl.
"Ah, Miss Kaname, Miss Miki" Mami said as two girls walked to her. Unaware Naruto stepped on Kyubey's tail to keep him pinned while Mami talked to the younger girls before sensing one behind them
"Nice to meet you" Naruto said before looking over his shoulder at the young woman with black silk like hair. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki"
"Homura Akemi" the girl said coldly, Naruto noticed the lack of emotions
"Man you seem to have seen some tough shit to cut off your emotions" Naruto said looking fully at her. "But take my really good advice and don't cut them off fully. Because everyone needs emotions"
"Whatever" Homura said walking off.
"Especially if you want to save them" Naruto silently said as he walked over to Mami and the two girls. "And she's the one you hope to save isn't; like I tried to save her" Naruto thought looking over at Mami. The feeling of dread sprang up again and hopefully Naruto was going to get there before anything bad happened.
"Everything okay honey?" Mami asked
"Yeah sure" Naruto said taking her hand in his own and giving it a small squeeze "Just thinking"
That afternoon Naruto had seen Mami and Madoka if he remembered correctly bolt off to the hospital. He followed behind them, his ring softly glowing underneath the glove covering it making his eyes flicker green and blue as he saw a portal.
"That must be what I've been sensing for a while now" Naruto said as he scanned it with his ring; gaining knowledge of it from the ring's encyclopaedia pages on the subject. Once he entyered he saw Homura tied up in red ribbon, making Naruto raise an eyebrow.
"What happened to you?" Naruto said
"I'm being prevented from stopping that idiot blonde from killing herself." Homura said struggling. Hearing Naruto willed a knife into existence and slashed the ribbons
"Get going I'll follow behind" Naruto said as Homura raced off.
"Okay ring, time to do this" Naruto said as his ring started to glow.
Mami had executed the witch they were after. Smiling as she summoned her final move
"Tiro Finale!" she shouted out blasting it with an ensnaring ribbon. This was her worse mistake on this hunt; because it had summoned out a large worm like witch and it was in the mood for a magical girl. The trio stare in despair at the thought that it was game over.
"NO!" Homura shouted arriving as a green light created a Roman pillar in the witch's mouth
"What?" Sayaka asked as the four girls saw someone new in the labyrinth.
Standing there in a black and green jacket, pants and combat boots stood the new figure, on his head was a ninja like mask covering his face except his emerald green eyes. Everyone was speechless that he had just stopped the witch.
"You there girl, get the others out of here" he said to Homura. "You time ability will make it safer for the powerless ones to survive"
"Why should I listen to you?" Homura questioned
"And why should we go with her" Sayaka shouted
"Let's go" Mami said walking over to Homura with Madoka "I have a feeling he can handle himself, Sayaka, Kyubey"
"Oh alright"
"Take a hand from the person in front of you, Madoka you'll take mine"
"Okay" Madoka shyly said taking Homura's hand before the vanish
"Just you and make you over grown gummy worm!" the figure said. "For I am the Green Lantern of this town. And you are MINE!" he said summoning a tomahawk, running up to it and riving the axe into its side, ripping it out to do it again until there was a massive gash in its side. Shortly after that a cracking noise was heard as the witch broke the pillar and snapped at Green Lantern making the man dodge it.
"That was close" he said summoning two will katanas from his imagination. He leapt up on the creature's back and did several dash cuts to it. Making the creature cry out in pain which almost sounded human.
"You poor thing allow me to put you out of your misery" Green Lantern said before the witch bucked him off of its back and into its shark like maw. Green Lantern quickly pulled up a shield as he slid down its throat. About halfway down he summoned spikes to his shield stopping him. He quickly though of something and the spikes started to spin cutting the creature in half as its corpse flopped to the floor. the inside of it looking like a candy cane swirl of red and white
The Green Lantern stood there and looked at the defeated witch as it started to fade away
"I'm sorry about your fate. And if I had met you earlier I would have done all I could to stop it. Now rest" He said grabbing the grief seed as the Labyrinth dissipated around him. Behind him were the four girls.
"Homura, use this and then pass it to Mami, your soul gems must have accumulated a bit of grief" Green lantern said walking over to them and dropping the seed into Homura's hand. Once he saw that his commands were seen to he took off.
"So any idea as too who that guy was?" Sayaka asked.
"I may have a vague idea" Mami said.
That night Naruto just stared out at the water as the lights dance delicately off of it.
"Thank you" Mami said walking up to him
"For what?" Naruto asked gently pulling her into a hug
"For saving us today; I knew it was you somehow. I was so stupid; I just ignored Homura and charged in blindly with two civilians maybe I'm not cut out for this"
"You are Mami; you just had a bad day that's all, nothing to worry about" Naruto said just holding her tenderly while kissing her forehead before kissing her lip softly staying there for a coupel of second before ending it "Come on, you need to relax; have a bath and I'll bring you in a cup of tea. Plus you're staying tonight deal
"Deal, I think I could use some time with you my love" Mami said kissing him again.
