My Elder Sister

By The Meepy Freak

BOOM!

Chase shuddered in terror as he stuck his fingers in his ears to block the terrible noise. However, Chase's fingers were too small, blocking the sound from coming out but letting more sound come in. Instead, the sound echoed within his ears causing tears to fall from his eyes.

The sound was too loud and made his ears throb with pain. It made Chase wish he did not have super senses. He yearned to not be able to hear what Mr. Davenport had called 'thunder' whenever the rain tapped on the ceiling of the lab. Honestly, Chase had gotten used to the falling of the rain and the humming of the computers in the lab. It was comforting to him actually. However, combined with thunder the sounds only anticipated the inevitable doom ahead.

BOOM!

Jumping, Chase climbed out of his capsule. Tears streaked his face as he attempted to comfort himself- grasping his small frame with his arms. He wanted Mr. Davenport, but the inventor was asleep upstairs, and Chase knew that upstairs was forbidden, no matter how curious he was. He desired feeling the comfort of Adam's arms enveloping him. Adam usually helped him when there were thunderstorms, lying down next to Chase on Chase's bed in the lab (Chase always slept on a bed rather than a capsule. However, Mr. Davenport forced Chase to sleep in the capsule at least once a week to recharge his bionics and stop from glitching.). Today, Adam and Chase were not talking to each other though because Adam was too busy teasing Chase and he was sealed in his capsule for a portion of the day and night due to glitching. It would only be pathetic if Chase went to his eldest brother for help.

BOOM!

The youngest bionic jumped once again and hid under the control desk for the capsules. It was too much for him. Sitting, he rocked back and forth, hugging his legs to his chest. By analysis of previous 'thunderstorms', this would at least last the rest of the night. However, Chase did not want to be awake, panicked for the night. He could barely stand a few minutes, way less than the hours that remained until morning (according to his internal clock).

Slowly, Chase peeked out from underneath the desk to see his brother sleeping peacefully, standing almost as still as a rock on the far left. He saw his empty capsule in the middle next. The door of the capsule was left open from rushing in fear. However, that was the least of Chase's concerns as he realised that to the right of his capsule was Bree's.

BOOM!

He grimaced in pain, forcing himself not to put his hands to the side of his face to cover his ears, as he observed Bree. She was not the best sleeper. In fact, she was the messiest sleeper in the family, leaning against her capsule glass wall with her mouth left open to breathe. This also made her snore a bit, though the sound of her snoring only soothed Chase at this point of time.

Also, Bree was only a year than Chase (though she would be turning 6 years old next month whilst Chase would still be 4 years old). It felt weird to ask for her help. Chase had always thought of Bree as his playmate rather than his elder sister. It was so easy to considering they both were stuck in a lab together. However, Chase was desperate. Bree would not be too mean- right? It was not like she teased him like Adam did.

BOOM!

Chase only had approximately 30 seconds before the next 'thunder attack' as Chase had dubbed them. He needed to be with somebody. Quickly, he rushed to the right-most capsule and tapped lightly on it. Tears flooded his face as Bree only shifted a bit, almost refusing to wake up. Chase knocked on the glass, harder, not caring about the ringing in his ears. He needed his elder sister. He needed Bree.

Finally, Bree's eyes opened as she stretched her back in the confined space. Chase hugged himself, almost inspiring courage in himself for asking Bree for help for what seemed to be the first time he could remember. However, it was easier than expected as Bree opened the capsule door almost immediately and stepped out towards him.

"What's the matter Chasey?" Bree's eyes displayed a concern look that made Chase less tense about asking for her comfort.

BOOM!

More tears fell out of Chase's eyes as he smoothed his hair with his hand (a nervous habit) and whispered, "T-the 'thunder' w-woke me up… and A-Adam's not al-allowed to open the door t-to his capsule, so-"

His breathing became more frantic as he could not help but cry more. Chase felt so weak, sobbing uncontrollably in front of his sister, but he could not help it. The impending 'thunder attack' terrified him, and he was not sure what to do. It bothered Chase- not knowing what to do. However, all the thoughts coursing through Chase's head vanished at Bree's touch as he hugged him tightly (her arms reaching Chase's upper back since she was taller than him at the time).

"Shh… it's okay, Chasey"

BOOM!

Chase suddenly wrapped his arms around Bree as a result of the loud noise, hugging her middle.

"Do you want to sleep in my capsule with me?" Bree asked fondly still hugging Chase.

Chase could only nod in delight as he climbed into the capsule with his sister. It was exactly what Adam did when Adam decided that beds were so weird he could not sleep in them. Sure, Bree was a sloppier sleeper than Adam, but that did not matter to Chase at the moment. She was comforting him. She was going to keep him safe from another thunder attack. He would end up fine after the night.

Bree closed the door of the capsule and hugged her brother tight. There was barely enough room to fit the both of them without her doing so anyway. Chase smiled. It was not often Bree was so protective and showed her love for him.

BOOM!

Another 'thunder attack' flooded Chase's ears, but this time, he did not grimace nor flinch. Instead, he closed his eyes to fall asleep. The sound did not scare him anymore. He was safe in his sister's arms. The 'thunder' could do nothing to him now.

Chase heard familiar snores behind him and could not help but be lulled to sleep by them. He slept grinning, knowing would survive the horrendous night because of his beautiful and wonderful sister.

Thank you Bee Bee.

It was official: Chase had the best elder sister ever.

For those of you who recognize this story, that is because, this is not my idea. I just thought it would be cool to write the instance from "My Baby Brother" from Chase's POV. Therefore, I do not even own the story idea, and this story is dedicated to Glow of the Blue Moon, the original author. She is an amazing writer with two Lab Rats stories so far since she is new to the Lab Rats community. Therefore, support her amazing stories and ideas and R&R them.

Glow of the Blue Moon: Sorry for 'stealing' your idea. I hope it is okay. If you are against this story, just PM and/or review, and I can take it down.
