Chapter 01

The Couple That Made the First Move

Kagami Taiga x Kuroko Tetsuya

After their win at the Winter Cup, the Seirin Team decided to have some vacation at a not-so-faraway place in Tokyo. The winter chill has given the players a big shiver from head to toe. It was winter, yes, and no one escaped the sheer coldness of the season.

Despite the cold season, the team made something that brought out the heat out of their trembling bodies. Oh yeah, they're having tea! Hahaha.

"Hey Kagami! How much of that bunch of burgers will satisfy your hungry stomach?!" asked the team coach, Riko Aida. Kagami just huffed in a little annoyance to the coach, giving her a 'mind your own business' look. But it hadn't escaped the coach's sight and whacked him in the head.

"Ow! What was that for?!" growled Kagami while nursing his sore head. That really gave him some vision blur.

"Coach! Kuroko is missing again!" announced Furihata. The team made a little sound of 'huh?'.

"That's not new… But where did he go this time?" Riko scratched the back of her head slightly and looked around the place to find some hint. But there was nothing to be found.

"Don't worry about him. He's not too far from here." Kagami said with a bored expression. Riko needed to put up her devilish glare once again. The Seirin ace suddenly trembled in fear.

"Oh no Kagami! You need to find him and don't come back until he's not here! Not even you're fuckin' freezing out there!" Riko shot Kagami a glare he would never forget throughout his life.

"Coach… Maybe that's too much…" Hyuuga butted in, making the coach avert her gaze from the redhead. However, Riko calmed down.

"Fine. Just find him. You know how weak Kuroko is in the cold." Riko sighed. She put her hands on her hips and looked at the redhead in a calm manner. Hyuuga gave him a nod and Kagami went out the hut to find Kuroko, out in the cold.

It wasn't easy for Kagami to look for Kuroko at this point, even though he's the one to easily notice the presence of the pale blue-haired boy. He walked past every establishment near the vacation spot where the team had settled. But to no avail, Kagami couldn't find his shadow.

Yes. His shadow. The one who inspired him to win the Winter Cup and became the best basketball player in Japan. The one who came from the famous Generation of Miracles, and yet, helped him to defeat all of them in separate matches.

He was about to come back to the hut when Kagami heard some muffled noises not so far from his present standing spot. As he went nearer the location of the sound;

"Waaah! Aominecchi! So mean to Kagamicchi!" Kise was heard, displaying a pouting face to the other people with him. Kuroko was there, making a frown despite his usual poker face.

"Daiki, having lost should be accepted. How many times do I have to tell you?" Akashi, the former GoM captain asked Aomine in a somewhat calm manner.

"But Akashi…" Aomine suddenly formed his hands to a fist. Kise recognized it and felt rather sad about Aomine's situation.

"Aomine-kun, you shouldn't talk to Kagami-kun like that." Kuroko suddenly spoke up to his former 'light', which made Kagami in the background eye him intently.

"Che. Look who's talking now. You were the first to leave Teikou and now you want me to not talk to that Bakagami like the way I should?" Aomine chuckled in annoyance and made his way to the front of Kuroko.

"Idiot Aomine… How is that supposed to be related?" Midorima muttered quietly, not noticing Aomine heard it. The navy blue-haired ace made a scowl for that.

"End all of these commotions now, or else!" Akashi suddenly frowned in anger as he stood up and everyone went silent.

"Akashi…." Aomine said lowly. He bowed down and looked again at everyone around him.

"Tetsuya… Go now. Your team must've been looking for you now." Akashi ordered and Kuroko nodded willingly, stood up and left his former teammates. Kise was trying to stop his tears from falling.

"Kise… You-" Aomine noticed Kise's reaction and became worried. The blonde stood up and left the place. 'Such a childish deed Aominecchi!' Kise thought sadly.

"Meeting adjourned. I shall go now." Akashi said and left, too.

"Me, too. Muro-chin needs to buy me candies now." Murasakibara also stood up and left the scene.

"Well, I should be going, too. Takao might be practicing without me." Midorima fixed his glasses to his nose bridge and left.

That leaves Aomine alone.

"I was just trying to-" Aomine was cut off by another voice on his back.

"Help? That should be more clarified." Kagami walked up to Aomine and had a smirk plastered on his face.

"Bakagami! What are you-? Wait…" Aomine flinched a bit and started talking.

"I heard. But that's fine… I understand, you idiot." Kagami said calmly.

"As if you can, Bakagami!" Aomine frowned at the redhead's statement. Kagami just made a small scowl but he let go of it.

"See you some other time then." Kagami waved off his goodbye and left the scene.

"Why you-!" Aomine muttered some curses to the redhead and went home too.

Kagami got back to the hut and saw that all of his teammates were asleep. Except for the blue-haired boy he wanted to see. He saw Kuroko by the tent that the two of them built since they were going to sleep together.

"Kagami-kun…" Kuroko said softly without looking at the redhead's side.

"That's Taiga for you, idiot." Kagami chuckled a bit and sat next to Kuroko.

"I'm not comfortable with your first name yet." Kuroko pouted cutely which made Kagami's face hot despite the chills of winter.

"O-okay then! You sleepy?" Kagami tried to change the topic. Kuroko nodded and sighed in disbelief then entered the tent. He noticed that the tiger was getting away from blushing. Kagami groaned stupidly and followed Kuroko inside the tent.

The next day was an alarm as the voice of Riko was heard throughout the area. Kagami quickly bolted to follow the voice, not noticing that Kuroko has used his misdirection again. The other players from the team also followed the location of the voice. And much to their annoyance;

"It's just a recorded voice huh?" Hyuuga sighed in disappointment and the freshmen made their annoyed expressions, but Kuroko has his usual blank expression.

"Yeah. How the hell would we practice at this freezing season?" Kiyoshi made his annoyed expression and earned a nod from Hyuuga.

"Coach must be having a bath from the hot springs! We should look for her!" Koganei announced and before he could leave, he got a chop in the head from Hyuuga. Mitobe comforted the abused boy silently.

"And then what?" a voice from behind the team suddenly made its presence known. The higher years and the freshmen suddenly froze in fear as they have familiarized themselves to the voice.

"Coach must be busy today." Kuroko tried to divert Riko's attention from the horrified people in front of them and he succeeded. The others sweatdropped at the scene.

"Yeah. We have some people coming here after a few days. They wanted to join our group vacation." Riko replied, flashing her bright smile to Kuroko. The other Seirin players widened their eyes in surprise.

"Who could they be?" Kagami asked in a half-annoyed, half-interested look. Kuroko gave him a blank stare.

"Kiseki no Sedai." Riko said bluntly in a normal tone of voice.

"Kiseki no… WHAT?! You mean-!" Hyuuga jumped in surprise from what he heard.

"Yes. The Generation of Miracles is coming to join us in a vacation." Riko voiced out a bit loud to be audible enough. Kuroko smiled a bit at that news.

"Well, this will be a longer vacation, I guess…" Kagami scratched the back of his head and cocked his head to the left. Kuroko sweatdropped at the redhead's statement.

"It is really a long vacation, Kagami-kun. Stop being an idiot." Kuroko said plainly and Kagami glared at him. The bluenette always felt satisfied when seeing Kagami flushed and fuming with anger.

"Oi! What was that for?!" Kagami growled at him angrily but the blue-haired boy just stared at him.

"Enough! Let's get moving!" Riko shouted and everyone got to work with their tasks.

The Seirin team has prepared a party for their visitors. Riko was the head organizer and Hyuuga was her assistant. Kiyoshi and Kawahara were in-charge for the tables; Koganei, Fukuda and Tsuchida were assigned to arrange the banners. Izuki was assigned to design the stage with Kuroko. And of course, the tiger (Kagami)and Mitobe was assigned to cook the food and was gladly assisted by Furihata.

"The event should start two days from now. Be ready guys." Riko announced and earned a nod from his 'boys'.

"Well, we should get to bed now. Tomorrow will be for other preparations." Hyuuga added and the others went to their sleeping tents to drift themselves to sleep.

"Ne, Kagami-kun?" Kuroko suddenly called out. Kagami made a sound proving that he heard what the pale blue-haired had said. "What?" the redhead asked.

"You're not worried about my former teammates?" Kuroko asked out of curiosity. He turned to face Kagami whose back was facing him.

"Why should I? Do they have something up again?" Kagami returned with a question and Kuroko smiled at that. Kuroko shook his head and Kagami faced him, finally.

"I don't know…" Kuroko suddenly felt a bit sad. (Yeah, Kagami's lucky to see such rare emotions from Kuroko…)

"Nah… Don't worry about them." Kagami smiled and faced Kuroko. The blue-haired boy's face lit up at that.

They went silent for the next minutes with their gazes averted from each other. Finally, Kuroko broke the silence and went to caress Kagami's face with his left hand. The latter flinched and blushed in surprise, but managed to maintain his composed look.

"Why?" Kagami managed to ask. Kuroko looked at him intently and not later he pressed his lips into the redhead's own. Their lips were awkwardly connecting at first, but Kagami dominated the kiss. The space around them intensified with heat as their tongues explored each other's mouth. They struggled to satisfy the other as the kiss went hard. Truly, a kiss they would remember. They stopped when nature called for them to catch air.

"Uhm…. Err…" Kagami was speechless at that point, face flushed and mind flying to some other world. 'Could this be real?' he mentally slapped himself. But it was real, fucking real.

"You don't like me, Kagami-kun?" Kuroko looked away from Kagami, seemingly worried about what he did to his partner. His heart fluttered to no end. He knew it would break their partnership and most of all, their 'light and shadow' tandem. He expected it, but he got things otherwise.

Kagami gently pulled him into a hug, a protective one. Kuroko couldn't feel more comfortable than what he was feeling at the moment. He cuddled his head on Kagami's strong and well-built chest, hearing the breathing patterns of the redhead.

"I like you more than you know, Kuroko." Kagami said then sighed. "Ugh… Why haven't we done this before?" he then chuckled lightly and pulled Kuroko closer into the hug.

"It's because you're a basketball idiot, Kagami-kun." Kuroko answered, earning a pat on the head from Kagami. Kuroko just grinned and kissed Kagami once more.

Oh yeah, this was going to be a long night for them….
