Hello again, here's another story for all you Dragon Age fans out there, and another pairing fic for all of you to enjoy. This is one idea given to me via Alith Anar, and hopefully he'll enjoy reading it himself.
Either way, read, review, and thank Alith for helping me with this idea. I down't own any of the characters and 'technically' Alith owns this version of the Warden.
Pairing: Leliana/M!Mahariel

The cold of the world outside barely wavered through the air within the large bedroom. The red satin curtains kept some off the cold at bay with the warmth of the lit fireplace doing most of the work. The rest though, wasn't anything that helped support the warmth of the room. It was neither the red sheets Leliana slept on nor was it any bundles of furs and skins that she may have had back during the days of Ferelden. What did keep her warm was 'someone' whom she had met back in Ferelden.
There she was, laying within the bedroom that had once been Divine Justinia's, and now hers after the election of the new Divine. Here she was, naked as the day she had been born into Thedas with the arms of her lover around her. Just having them there kept her warm, both in remembering their escapades just moments ago, and the fact that even after ten years, the man who held her still makes her heart beat so fast.
Leliana couldn't help but be amused at the fact that she also loved to live the life of secrecy and political intrigue. Saucy and delicate information was something that she was used to handling, back during her days with Marjolaine and during most of her time with the Inquisition. Even though she was now known as Divine Victoria, she still liked dealing with the occasional bought of secrets, and even used it to keep a nobleman silent about her involvement with the late Marjolaine.
Still, nothing could be ever more shocking to the public if word came out that their newest Divine was sleeping with a Dalish Elf. Many would believe that the people of the Faith would see her as a ruined Divine for letting herself fall for a man of a completely different belief system...but when the Dalish man is the Hero of Ferelden, it can be swayed a little towards her favor.
Besides, she is not just Divine Victoria, she is Leliana, another Hero of Ferelden, and the Spymaster to the Inquisition. She knows what strings to pull to keep things under control, and too many who would have issues cannot fault her for having such affairs with a man of such stature.
The Hero, Mahariel, had returned from his search from the great West. He had heard rumors of such a cure for the taint but had returned only with the rumors in tow. Good thing, too, since Leliana was now a Divine and could share some of her power into at least getting information of these rumors. That and the Inquisitor owed her a favor. So, for now they waited, with Mahariel currently pressed against her back, stroking her stomach so lovingly.
But he was not going to die by the taint, not by a long shot. Leliana was willing this to be, and she prayed to the Maker that she would get that one small token.
A hand moved up to carress the closest breast...Leliana moaned lightly as Mahariel slipped into her field of view, and leaned down to kiss her neck, to which she turned her head up so that he could press his lips to hers. The kiss was as warm as the first kiss she ever had with him, and she lovingly adored his strong hands stroke her so gently.
As he pulled away, she stroked his cheek. "Could you be a dear and pour us some wine...I would like to celebrate your return..."
Mahariel said nothing, but an impish smile played upon his lips and he winked to her before rolling out of bed. Leliana rolled lightly so her back was on the bed, then she sat up, so that she could watch that man walk briskly across the floor to fetch the wine and glasses next to it. Of course, this meant that Leliana was watching him toned frame from the back…especially his butt. Leliana's smile turned mischievous, she loved seeing that butt.
It was then that the door to her bedroom slammed open, and Leliana had to turn to gaze at the door in complete surprise.
From the door, was an older but pretty woman wearing the Chantry robes of Orlais, a Chantry Mother that served as one of her advisers while Leliana sat on the Sunburst throne. The woman stepped into the room fully with her head down, and a scroll in her hand. "My apologize for disturbing your resting time, your grace, but I wish to ask..." It was then the Mother lifted her head...looking directly at the naked Mahariel that was all of an arm's length away from her. She stared for a long moment before she gasped, and turned away...
...directly towards the naked Leliana upon the bed. "Dear, sweet Maker!" she states, and flushed harshly.
Leliana smiled just a little as she saw Mahariel placed the bottle of wine over his 'manly area' before standing herself. "Ahh, Mother..."
She was seconds away from even starting her sentence, but then another person stepped in. It was another Chantry Mother, and another adviser for her. "Is the Divine awake, I wished to speak to her about a few things that can help the rebuilding of Val Royeux and..." Her eyes drifted to Mahariel, and she jumped back. "Oh…erm…"
Leliana couldn't help but smile all the more, the second Mother was staring directly at Mahariel.
The first started to speak. "My lady Divine, I know that we can hold back from revealing information that you have a lover, but to have a Dalish elf…it's just...well..." The first jumbled her words while flushing still, though it was pretty obvious the First chantry Mother was staring at Leliana's body. Leliana inwardly laughed, she may have aged but her body still is at a top, physical condition...and it was downright sexy. This tells Leliana what the first Chantry Mother's tastes are...something she may have to store for later.
The second Chantry Mother was even more obvious than the other. "...So the tattoos *do* go down further..." She gasped as she eyed Mahariel up and down. Mahariel made an irritated noise, but uncomfortably let the second mother stare.
It was then that a third person stepped in, and to Leliana's better amusement, it was none other than the Hero of Orlais, the Seeker of Truth. Cassandra was still fully armored, as she was meant to be as the Right Hand of the Divine still, and took a moment to look at the mothers. "...What is going on…Oh!" she stats, seeing Mahariel first, then Leliana.
It was then that Mahariel finally said something. "By the Gods..." he managed, as blasphemes as it was to say that within the Maker's house, though then sleeping was far worse.
A long pause passed at the idle staring, the first Mother staring at Leliana, the second staring at Mahariel, Cassandra looking to both and Mahariel looking at the ceiling and pretending he wasn't there. Cassandra let out a very, heavy breath while a blush formed her cheeks before she suddenly waved to the mothers. "...Back out, it is time for our Divine to rest..."
The First Mother frowned. "But..."
"Out..." Cassandra commanded, and ushered them out. She herself waited for the Mothers to both leave before she turned to them again, and made an exasperated noise through her nostrils.
Leliana snickered, as she remembered when Cassandra caught Iron Bull and the Inquisitor in bed with Cullen and Josephine. Similar reactions, if she remembered.
"This is your time, Divine." Cassandra stated with a small bow before slowly backpedalling towards the door. "I will recommend to place a lock on the door for the future..." She states. Moments before she closed the door behind her, Leliana could see the approval glance at the two of them before closing the door behind her.
By then, Leliana started to giggle, placing her hands over her lips as Mahariel sighed in defeat. He moved to Leliana and placed the bottle near the stand beside the bed. "Well, if there was anything fun that we could have done, that certainly ruined the mood..."
Leliana smiled, and moved a hand against the back of his neck, stroking it gently. "Oh, I don't know, if anything we could have the two watch…it seems they have shown interest in one of us each..."
Mahariel finished pouring a drink, though turned to face her, looking surprised and perhaps a little amused by this. "Oh really? Are they not supposed to keep themselves celibate?"
"Watch, not join..." Leliana laughed, and moved her hand from his neck to his chest. Gently, she pushed him, hard enough to where he fell back onto the bed, before gathering the poured drink with her free hand. She downs the wine with ease before setting the glass down. She slowly crawled onto the bed, keeping her legs and arms spread enough to climb up the elf without climbing on him, until her hips was next to his stomach. For a moment, Mahariel let out a sigh as Leliana's breasts stroked gently against his cheeks.
Then she sat up, and he responded lightly with a growl. She merely gave him a teasing grin before she moved her hands to stroke against his chest. "It is a new age, my love." Leliana spoke lightly. "Let the people see that I have a Dalish lover, let them see that it is a man of the Dales that I love. While it may not create the peace I wanted, it will help create the thought of it, of peace between two groups..."
Mahariel smirked lightly. "Somehow I do not believe that the two of us caught in the buff would work the way you think..."
Leliana smiled, and moved her right hand to his left. Before he could respond, she moved her fingers softly against his left ring finger. "No, though I do plan on eventually getting you to wear a ring here for me."
That caught his attention, and he slowly sat up to look at Leliana. "This is...marriage for your people, yes?"
Mahariel may have been Dalish, but his time with the humans taught him some of the politics. To marry to a noble would help that person's house, to gain power. For a Dalish to marry an Andrastian...Honestly would prove the point that Leliana just spoke of. A marriage of the Divine and a Dalish Elf would suggest good things...
Hell, he heard that the Queen isn't nearly as hidden with the fact that she has an Elvish lover...having the Divine marry a Dalish elf...would that help? Certainly that would make the nobles pissier than ever but...the regular folk? That would help, especially if the Mothers help relay such an idea that Dalish and Andrastians can handle standing together without influencing the other...
Though why was he thinking of politics, when Leliana was...pretty much proposing to him?
"A strange idea, at least from what I'm seeing in the political view...but..." Mahariel suddenly wrapped his arms around Leliana, and with a quick twist, pulled Leliana to the bed with him on top. He smiled and leaned in close, so his nose was next to hers. "I accept...I am yours Leliana...and you are mine..." he states softly and leans in to kiss her.
It was deep, it was long, and after a few moments, he pulled away to let in a breath. "As smart as it is, politically, you are my love...fuck politics.
Leliana laughed just a little, pulling her arms around his neck and pulling him into another warm kiss.
Kind of a quick one, though be warned my next fic will be...erm..shorter...
