Hey, people :)

So this is supposed to be the back story to Nick's statement in "You can't do that"

I thought you might enjoy it :D

Oh yeah, my beta is busy right now, I tried avoiding mistakes, but I can't always help it, so I hope you can live with that.

The two of them were sitting at the kitchen table. It was Saturday and neither had anything to do, so they slept in and now Jeff was nibbling on a piece of buttered toast, while Nick took small sips from his coffee, every now and then, while fiddling around with a napkin, tearing it into tiny white, confetti like, pieces.

"Okay, baby, what the heck is wrong?", Jeff bursted out, after watching Nick for a while.

Nick put down the napkin, and took another, now larger sip of his coffee, before speaking up. "Ahmm... Yeah. I wanted to talk to you about something, Jeff." Nick said, lifting the napkin of the table again.

Jeff smiled, took Nick's hand, crumpled the paper from Nick's hand and threw it into the trashcan. "Okay...", he said curiously.

Nick took a deep breath, before he started talking again, hastily. "Okay. We have been together for ages, now...", he paused and Jeff nodded, not knowing where this was going. "And I am nearly done with my degree..."

Jeff was still unsure about the purpose of this, but he didn't like where this was going but he withdrew his hand from Nick's, sitting up straight, focussing on Nick's, still quickly moving, lips.

Nick had noticed that reaction and he sighed slightly before he continued. He knew that his fiancé was really uncomfortable with the occupation he was striving for.

"I know, Jeff, you don't want this, but I think it is about time to talk about this. I have tried to talk to you about it, but you seem to be unapproachable. I want you to come with me and let me have a look at your teeth, do a cleaning, see if anything is wrong.", Jeff felt like he was going to faint. "I know that it has been at least four years, since you have seen a dentist, Jeff. That is way to long, really. Please. Don't make a big deal out of this. We're just going to the office, well, my school and I will give you a check up and polish your teeth. It's going to be fine."

Jeff shook his head. "Can't we do this another time? I mean I planned on watching Sherlock all day and I...", mumbled.

"We can't. I will have you do this. You can work with me, or against me. I would prefer if you wouldn't put up a fight. But the choice is yours." Nick put on a smile that said challenge accepted to Jeff.

What was this? Why would Nick do this to him? "You can't force me...", Jeff said, not being sure about that.

Nick tried getting Jeff's hand back, but Jeff hid it behind his back. "I can, believe me. But I want to make this as comfortable as possible for you, so I'd like you to go along. I want you to know, I am able to pin you down and hold your mouth open. And if you don't cooperate, that is what I'll have to do. But I'd be more than happy if it wouldn't have to go like that."

Jeff knew that Nick was serious about this. And he hat no idea how to get out of this.

"Do you trust me?", Nick asked and Jeff couldn't keep himself from nodding.

"But Nick, not with that. I don't trust anyone with it. And I did fine for some time. There is nothing wrong with my teeth." Well not really, Jeff thought to himself.

"If there is nothing wrong, you don't have to worry. If there is, it is better if we catch it now. So there is nothing to lose."

Jeff was still shaking his head. He wasn't going to give in. He usually liked giving his fiancé what he wanted, but this time was different.

"You have no choice. Again, I don't want to force you, but I have no choice, if you are not giving in.", Nick said in a terrifyingly dedicated voice. He wasn't joking, that was for sure, and both men knew it.

The problem for Jeff was that Nick knew quite a bit of material arts and was way stronger than the skinny blond.

But one thing was certain, Jeff was faster.

Jeff jumped out of his chair and picked up speed quickly. Nick knew that he wouldn't catch him, with Jeff having been sitting on the side with the door. He sighed, and buried his face in his sweaty palms. He knew that Jeff wouldn't like this, sure. But he hadn't considered that Jeff was that terrified. He sighed again, took his phone out of his pocked and started writing.

'I'm sorry, Jeff. Please, just come back, let's talk. Love you, Nick.' He was sure that wouldn't make Jeff come back, but he did want him to know that he wasn't mad. He had to make sure Jeff knew that Nick was only doing this for Jeff's best.

Then he had an idea. Blaine, a friend from school, was one year below him, in dental school. And Nick could use some help. He sat on his sofa, calling him.

"Blaine Anderson here, hello?", Blaine said and Nick smiled. Blaine was always sounding professional.

"Hey, Blaine. Here's Nick.", he said.

He heard a slight laugh at the other end of the line. "Hi, haven't heard from you in a while."

Nick chuckled. He and Blaine had been working together less than 24 hours ago. "Yeah, I kind of need your help. Do you have time?"

He explained his plan to Blaine, who was also friends with Jeff and Blaine agreed on doing it instantly.

"Well, thanks Blaine, I hope it's going as planned. If it is, see you soon.", Nick said, before hanging up.

He grabbed a few things and stuffed them in his bag, put on his scrubs and left the flat within a few minutes.

Jeff was sitting on top of the stair case in the uni building. He didn't have an idea where to got to, so he had only been walking the way that was burned into his mind. He was looking down, down to the phone in his hands. It had a message from Nick on it. While thinking of a way to get out of this, the phone vibrated. He was certain that it was another message from Nick, but after reading it, he knew it wasn't.

'Hey, Jeff. I am really bored, do you have time to have a coffee, or so? -Blaine:)'

Jeff didn't want to stay alone, so he settled on giving in to the offer. 'Sure, I'll be at our usual Starbucks in ten minutes.'

He wasn't just afraid, he was petrified and a little distraction would help with that. And Nick was probably not suspecting him to meet with any of their mutual friends.

The Starbucks was actually in the same building Jeff had been in and it made it easy to get there, before Blaine was there. He ordered their usual coffees and sat down, looking out of the huge window in front of him.

"There you are!", he heard the well known voice coming from behind his back. He turned around and saw a grinning Blaine approaching, so he got up to give him a good hug.

"Hi!", Jeff said, before he sat down again, patting the spot on the sofa next to him.

Blaine sat down, still grinning. The two of them had been good friends in school, but they had grown really close when Blaine had been excepted to the same college with Jeff and Nick.

"So how is it going? I had expected you to be with Nick, today.", Blaine said in his melodic voice.

Jeff bit his lip. Blaine was also a dentistry student, and Jeff wasn't sure if Blaine had known about any of Nick's plans.

"Yeah, we had a little fight...", Jeff sighed. "But it's fine, we'll live. What about you and Kurt?"

Blaine frowned. "Oh, I'm sorry. Do you want me to try and interfere? I mean, I am friends with you two, I might be able to help..."

Jeff shook his head, slightly panicking. If Blaine talked to Nick, he would definitely be on Nick's side. "No, we'll get over it. We just need some time..." Jeff shook his head, again, trying to make it even more clear. "So, why aren't you with Kurt?"

Blaine grinned, though Jeff could tell he wasn't quite as happy as he usually was. Blaine was one of the most cheerful people Jeff knew. "Kurt has a project to work on. So I got pretty bored being alone at home...", he paused, "would you mind getting outside? I think I'd like to stroll around."

Jeff nodded. "Sure, it's finally nice, again. We should certainly enjoy the sun."

They both grabbed their coffees and walked outside. The sun was standing high on the clear sky and it felt nice and warm on Jeff's bare arms and his face. He was closing his eyes for a second, enjoying the heat on it. Maybe he would finally get a bit of a tan. He was always so pale.

Blaine started walking and Jeff was listening to him talking about the performance of Daniel Radcliffe in 'how to succeed in business without really trying'. Jeff hadn't seen it, yet, but both of them adored Radcliffe and his way of acting and Jeff had been trying to convince Nick to go for quite some time, now. Jeff was grinning throughout the whole conversation, laughing and occasionally taking a sip of his coffee.

He enjoyed talking to Blaine, because of them being so busy their friendship was lacking those moments, sadly.

Through the whole process of talking, Jeff hadn't noticed where they were going, and when Blaine stopped he felt his stomach turn. He was just about to start walking again, not giving Blaine a chance of explaining why they stopped, when he felt two large hands on his hips.

Yeah, this is the first chapter :)
