"So you aren't the least bit concerned that there haven't been any ghost attacks recently?" Sam questioned her friend as he floated upside down.
"Nope! Come on Sam! This is a break! And I know I could use one." Danny smiled at her.
Sam sighed and collapsed into his bean bag chair, glaring at her friend. She knew he needed a break, but this is ridculous. No ghost have attacked in a month, and Danny wasn't even concerned?
"Fine...when is Tucker getting here?" Sam asked. Danny shrugged. "I don't know, he said after his five o'clock feeding...whatever that meant." Danny snorted. Sam looked at him, and noticed how much this break had affected him.
His grades were now all B's and his face actually looked like he slept...he wasn't constantly on edge.
"Maybe this is a good thing. You actually look like you've slept." Sam smirked. Danny grinned. "Yeah! I have! Is it noticable?" Danny asked, tilting his head to the side a bit.
"Yeah, you look...better? If thats the right word? Basically, you don't look like you are about to fall over and die...so yeah." Sam laughed. Danny smiled at his friend (not that he wanted to just be friends with her).
"But you do have a point Sam. I should be a bit more concerned that no ghosts have attacked." Danny's face fell as he realized that this could mean bad things. Really bad things.
"Oh no..." Sam grumbled, realizing what she had done. She had released the worried Danny.
"What if they are planning something? Oh no! I need to investigate!" Danny said, a determined look on his face.
"How?" Sam asked, rolling her eyes. "No ghosts are going to come into Amity now if they haven't in a month." She pointed out.
"You are right...lets go into the zone." Danny looked at her, changing into his ghost form and hovering in the air. "Oh, cause thats a great idea." Sam rolled her eyes, but took his outstreched hand. Danny phased them into the ground and flew them through the portal. "Maybe we should've taken the speeder..." Sam whispered, realizing how exposed she was to the zone.
"No, my parents would've notice, just, get on my back, and I'll protect you." Danny smiled lovingly at her, which made her face heat up. "Thanks..." She gurmbled, blush not leaving her face while she climbed onto his back piggyback style.
"Lets find...Skulker or someone. Someone who can give me answers." Danny's eyes narrowed as he said this, flying them forward, making Sam hold on a bit tighter. "Did you call Tucker and tell him not to come?" Sam asked, Danny flying even faster. "No...shoot." Danny facepalmed, but quickly hooked his arms under Sam's knees to stabalize her.
In the distance, he could see Skulker and Ember, fighting about something again. "Somethings never change." Sam smiled.
"Yeah, lets hope they don't attack." Danny whispered and flew forward to them.
"Hey, what gives? Why haven't you guys attacked Amity recently?" Danny yelled.
"...Whelp!" Skulker and Ember coward under his gaze. "What gives?" Danny asked, jumping upward a bit to reposition Sam.
"...We have been ordered not to attack your town anymore. They say it violates the law." Ember mumbled, not meeting Danny's eyes.
"Why are you guys acting so weird?" Danny asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Do you really not know?" Skulker asked, finally looking up. Ember had a dumbstuck look on her face.
"No...?" Danny said, confused.
"You are the King of the Ghost Zone..." Skulker and Ember said in unison.
