CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN EPILOGUE

FIVE YEARS LATER.

Eva stares out over the field looking from their newly constructed barn where several pigs, goats and cows are milling around and she sees Hershel and Charlie teaching a few people how to milk the cows.

To the brick walls surrounding their home, watching people go about thier day. She looks over to the green house and the gardens to see Kailee, Mel and Beth with their boyfriends taking care of the crops. They will have plenty of food for the winter in the comeing months.

Hearing laughing she looks over to see Carl and Sophia playing basketball with kids their own age that they have rescued over the years.

"So when do you think Carl is going to finally ask Sophia to be his girlfriend?" Maggie asks her as she rocks her and Glenn's two month old, Ryan, in her arms. "Oh can't be long now." Eva said smiling as Carl tickles Sophia's sides before taking the ball from her.

While laughing with Maggie, Eva looks over to the jungle gym Daryl and Rick just brought back a few weeks ago from their trip to a neighboring town that they are friends with. She smiles seeing all the giggling faces of Hayden, Warren and Judith and the other children.

"Oh did you hear that Anderson finally agreed to the contract?" Maggie asks turning to her fully. "No! Wow that is amazing, what is it up to now, seven towns that are rebuilding. I never thought Anderson would agree with the trading terms but this is great for us, they have the most fuel to trade with." Eva said and they talk about how they should go and visit T-dog and his girlfriend in one of the towns that they are helping rebuild.

"Well look who just walked in." Eva said with a big smile on her face as she looks over to the gate entrance. "About time they got back." Maggie said just as happy to see that Daryl, Glenn, Rick and a few others are finally back from their day working on the second wall they are building around the forest. Once they are done with that wall they can finally start building cabins, because the prison is starting to get over crowded but the wall won't be done untill sometime next summer.

"Is Lori still in class?" Rick asks them when the men reach them. Lori and Carol started up a school teaching the kids everything from math to knives, everyone wanting the next generation to be able to protect themselves. "Yeah it should be getting over in maybe a half hour." Maggie said while handing Ryan over to Glenn, who is still very panicked with holding a baby, just like the new daddy he is.

"Alright if you see her first let her know I'm back alright." Rick said before walking off towards the jungle gym and the little girl who is running towards him. Eva and Daryl say bye to Glenn and Maggie after a few minutes as they walk off to go change Ryan's diaper.

"So husband of mine, how was your day?" Eva asks while throwing her arms around his neck. "Well wife, it was fine just like yesterday and the day before that and the day before that and the..." Daryl says but she cuts him by catching his lips with hers. While kissing him, she plays with the shiny new ring that is on her finger.

"Oh! Yay you're finally here in time." Eva says moving away him quickly and grabbing his hand and placing it on her ever growing stomach. "There, do you feel it?" Eva asks with a huge smile on her face while looking up to Daryl's smiling face.

"Bout time I get to feel him kick." Daryl said while rubbing the place he just felt their baby kicking. "Him? Daryl it's a girl, I'm telling you it's a girl." Eva said shaking her head while smiling. "No, Dixon's don't have girls." He said smirking at her as she rolls her eyes.

"Uggh fine, but the next one better be a girl." She said with a big smile on her face and Daryl sighs and looks down at her and smirks. "Maybe, maybe not, we will see."

And im sorry its so short but I did want to wrap everything up and there will be NO more to this story it is the end of this story. I am planning another Walking dead Daryl/OC story that follows season 4 and 5 but I cant begin to write that until i get the season 5 DVD.
