Bother

In elementary school there was a wide berth given to both Kyoya and Suzume – the former because, damn, was he mean, and the latter was about fifty percent the air she gave off and fifty percent association with Kyoya himself. It suited both of them well enough, as neither were social beings, though there was always one or two brave souls. Though, in the case of Kyoya, those individuals always left feeling a deep regret.

"Suzuki-san, will you partner with me?" The girl had rosy cheeks and obnoxiously red hair (and a much too bright of a smile, if you asked Suzume). "I think we'd have fun!"

Fun was not something Suzume associated with partner projects or games in class. Boredom or exasperation fit the bill much better, she thought – besides, most of the time she was partnered with Kyoya, since he was too much of a scary brat to work with anyone else. Just her luck he was sick today (though whether that luck was good or bad, Suzume couldn't quite say just yet.

"Why should I?"

The girl – Suzume was fairly certain her name was Natsu-something; she was also new to the class, having transferred barely a week ago – just grinned and rocked back on her heels, "Why shouldn't you?"

"I don't like people." Suzume turned and looked at the sheet in front of her, "Sensei will let me work on my own anyways."

Which was true enough, as even the teachers were wary of the adolescent Suzuki and Hibari children.

"You'll like me!" The red haired girl waved her hand high, pushing up on her tip-toes, "Sensei~! Suzuki-san and I are gonna partner!"

"Oh…Natsumi-chan and Suzume-chan, then." Their teacher sounded wary, though not nearly as much as when it was Hibari and another student in question. "…Alright, do your best."

Natsumi happily saluted, "Hai, sensei~!"

This, Suzume was sure, was going to be a bother.
