Okay guys, this is the first chapter of my story. I love DDLJ a lot so it's a Raj/Simran story. It contains a somewhat graphic scene, warnings for attempted rape.

Chapter One:

Simran was looking through her diary and reading about the dreams she once had about an amazing soulmate coming into her life. She laughed, shaking her head. Raj was gone out with Kuljeet right now but her thoughts…her thoughts were constantly on him day and night. He was in her dreams, in her heart in her everything. She just hoped he would be able to convince Bauji to give him her hand.

"Kya sauch rahi ho jaan?" [What are you thinking about, sweetheart?] Yash, one of Kuljeet's friends who stayed in the background usually stepped inside her room causing Simran to sit up.

"Yeh kya batameezi hai? Aap knock nahi kar sakte?" [What is this bad behavior? Can't you knock?] Simran said putting her scarf around her neck.

Yash laughed, pushing the door closed behind him and stepping closer.

"Kya karahe hain aap? Ma…" [What are you doing? Ma…] Simran tried to scream out for her mother but Yash moved forward, clamping his hand over her mouth.

Simran struggled, feeling her heart race. What was happening? She tried to push Yash back but he threw her on the bed, pinning her down with his body.

Unable to think of anything else to do, she began beating her fists against Yash's chest, trying to escape.

He wrapped an arm around her shoulder pulling her closer and without warning pressed his lips to hers. Her attempts to escape had no affect on him and the hand that had been around her shoulder began opening up her top from the back. In order to keep her from moving back down, he kept her mouth distracted, allowing his tongue to explore her mouth again. Finally, he had opened the back and stopped kissing her. He pulled off her top, leaving her in her bra. Tears ran down Simran's cheeks.

Raj, help me, she thought. Where was he? Here she was about to be raped and he wasn't here. She wanted to scream for him but seemed to have lost the courage and will to. No. She wasn't weak. She was stronger than this. She had to stand up for herself. She had to be strong.

With these thoughts in mind, Simran managed to finally get an aim on Yash's stomach and kicked him. Taken by surprise, the other fell to the side.

"MA!" Simran screamed, before scurrying away, tears running down her cheeks furiously as she sobbed, curling into a corner.

Yash made to reach towards her again when someone landed a kick to his stomach. He looked up to see Raj with Kuljeet next to him.

Kuljeet landed another blow to Yash's face. "Kaminay tu meri izzat ke saath kehlta hai?" [Bastard, you play with my honour?]

Lajjo rushed to hug her daughter. "Simran…"

Simran clutches onto her mother, breaking down completely.

Yash just laughed. "Yaar kya karoon? Kuch ajeeb si kashish hai isme na?" [What should I do, friend? She has something that pulls people towards her right?]

Simran flinched, sobbing more at that. She could hear Raj's roar of fury at those words and could hear more fighting around her.

Lajjo frowned. "Raj, Chutki aao mere saath, Simran ke liye kapre nikalne hain." [Raj, Chutki come with me, we need to get new clothes for Simran.]

Simran tilted her head, her eyes meeting with Raj's which were filled with fury but softened when they looked into hers. More tears rolled down her cheeks. She wasn't worth his love anymore. She didn't deserve him now. Not when someone else had touched her in that way. She curled closer to her mother, allowing her and Chutki to lead her to another room. It took her a little bit to notice but Raj was following them.

"Beti tum kuch dehr Raj ke saath guzarni hai?" [Daughter, do you want to spend some time with Raj?] Lajjo asked gently.

"N-Nahi Ma," [N-No Ma] Simran choked out causing Raj to step towards her.

"Simran," Raj said but Simran cut him off.

"Nahi rahi main tumhare kabil!" [I haven't remained worthy of you!] Simran snapped, not meaning to but did so anyway. "Chalo jao ab yahan se! Main woh ladki nahi…rahi jisse tumhe pyar hua tha." [Just go from here now! I'm no longer that girl…the one you fell in love with.]

Raj shook his head and took a scarf from the drawer, wrapping it around Simran's upper body and pulling her close. She attempted to resist, making to pull away but after some struggling between the two of them, he managed to pull her into his arms.

"Main tumse pyaar karta hoon," [I love you] Raj said. "Mujhe maaf kardo Simran. Mere kusoor hai, maine tumhari hifazat nahi ki. Shahid main tumhare kabil nahi hoon. Joh tumhari izzat ki hifazat nahi kar paya." [Please forgive me, Simran. It's my fault. I couldn't protect you. Maybe I am the one not worthy of you. Because I couldn't protect your honour.]

It was his fault. Raj knew this…if he hadn't gone out trying to be such a good friend to Kuljeet, this wouldn't have happened. Seeing Simran cry like this tore through his heartstrings and brought tears to his own eyes. How was he supposed to protect her openly when he couldn't even announce how much he loved her? He didn't know how yet but Yash would pay for what he had done. He would pay dearly. Simran didn't mean any less to him but Yash…his fist clenched. How dare that bastard lay a hand on his Simran?

Simran was the most beautiful, innocent girl. A pure maiden with a pure heart and to try and destroy that purity of hers was a sin. Why…why had this happened to her? He still remembered when they had first heard her screams.

"Toh kya shikhar kiya aaj?" [So what did you hunt today?] Lajjo asked.

Raj laughed as Kuljeet made some sort of joke and sneaked a glance to Bauji who once again glared at him. He gulped, honestly couldn't Simran have chosen a better Dad? Before he could do anything more though screams cut through the air.

"MA!"

Raj felt himself jump a mile in the air. That was Simran's voice! He had never heard sound so panicked even when she had missed the train and they had gotten into a fight over it. Before he could think, he ran as fast as his legs would take him to Simran's room. His eyes widened, jaw dropping as he saw the scene in front of him. Yash, Kuljeet's childhood friend was reaching out for Simran who was crying, half-naked (from the top) in a corner.

Raj could feel his blood boiling and before his head could protest to the thought, he began beating Yash. Punch after punch no matter how much he knew this was a bad idea. It didn't take a genius to see what had happened and no one tried to rape HIS Simran. Kuljeet soon joined him, swearing angrily at Yash about playing with his honour. For some reason, that didn't settle well with Kuljeet only worrying about his own honour but that was another story. Right now, the more beating Yash took from them, the better.

His fists clenched at Yash's next action.

Yash just laughed. "Yaar kya karoon? Kuch ajeeb si kashish hai isme na?" [What should I do, friend? She has something that pulls people towards her right?]

Simran flinched, sobbing more at that and her sobs cut through Raj as if Yash had physically stabbed him.

"AHHH!" In his fury, Raj let loose another series of punches until Lajjo and Kuljeet stopped him and he followed Lajjo, Chutki and Simran outside.

Raj finally pulled away from Simran. "Acha Senorita tum change kar lo, main bahir wait karta hoon." [Ok Senorita, you change, I'll wait for you outside.] He made to let go of her hand but Simran held on.

"R-Raj please…mujhe mat chod ke jao…p-please!" [R-Raj please…don't leave me…p-please!] Simran cried, sounding hysterical and clinging as if her life depended on it. "T-tum ankhein bhand kar lo, lekhin please is kamre se mat jao. Woh…woh ajayega." [Y-you can close your eyes, but please don't leave this room. He'll…he'll come back.]

Raj's heart gave a pang and he gave a watery smile. Unable to think of words, he just nodded.
