Epilogue

"I have finished your quest Father. However, the Shinigami escaped. I fear he might kill me later with a death note. "

"A shinigami cannot reap the souls of demigods. It one of the rules upon its creation. That is why the gods never truly learned of their existence."

"Oh" escape my lips. Father raise his eyebrow at my response and my face flushed in embarrassment. I then recall the weight I was holding in my arms.

I lay the bundle in front of his throne. His onyx black eyes analyzed it, dissecting the piece of menace that was the root of most trouble.

He snapped his fingers which echoed against the cold walls. The package disappeared in a shadow. He stood up walking slowly towards me.

"Stand Nico"

Following his order he then began to shrink in size.

"Your results were satisfactory. I would have preferred if the Shinigami wasn't the one to kill him but it doesn't matter. Now that this is settled I have a new mission for you, I need you to help close the Doors of Death. Thanatos has indeed been captured and the dead are still able to escape. I have diverted the attention and hidden the incident of the Kira Case from the gods but this has caused them to be aware of the lack of control I have in the underworld without my assistant. To my displeasure they think I am weak and suffering from having both roman and greek form conflicting with each other. Until Thanatos comes back I will be unavailable to you."

He then outstretched his hand in my direction.

I move to remove the belt and the glasses from my pocket returning it back to him,yet he shook his head.

"Think of this as a reward for your efforts. I do however, require the Death Note."

'Oh,' I pull out the thin black book, boring in looks but dangerous to touch. I handed it into his hands. I jump at the sudden display of hell fire burning the book.

"It should never have fallen into the hands of mortals." His eyes appeared cold and yet something else was there. Before I could figure out what it was he continued. "A sinister plot is forming but I do not know who is the enemy. Be attentive Nico. Go find the location of the Doors of Death and report back. Do not attempt to close them is that understood?"

I hid my eyes which would reveal my displeasure.

"Yes Father."
