The little boy was three years old, a natural blondie, wore glasses, and was screaming his head off when Alexander met him. Alexander had a soft spot for any little kid who was hurt so he picked him up and took him to the infirmary. After getting the child a few bandages and some ambrosia, for he'd fallen and scraped up his entire right leg, AlexHander tried to talk to the boy to calm him down.

"What's you're name? I'm Alexander."

"Kirk. I had a brother named Alexander once. I bet he looked like you I never met him and they say he's just a dream... i can't remember." Kirk sniffled.

"Who's you're godly parent?"

"I wanted it to be apollo." Kirk pouted. Alexander smiled, considering his own lineage.

"Good choice. But who is it?"

"Aphrodite." He said with a frown. Alexander's technique wasn't calming him down, in fact Kirk was beginning to cry harder. Alexander was usually good with children, but he had one other thing he could try to cheer the little boy up. He was reluctant to do it though. He thought for awhile, finally deciding when he saw how miserable Kirk was. His glasses had fallen off and tears streamed down his eyes.

"You'll still remember your brother even if you don't have the stupid toy. He obviously needs it more." Alexander chided himself, pulling the toy out of a cabinet and holding it behind his back.

"Do you like stuffed animals Kirk?"

"Yeah I love them!" Kirk replied growing a little excited.

"Then I have a surprise for you. Here." He present Augustus the raccoon and Kirk's tears dried immediately, running off to go play. Alexander smiled, glad he'd made that choice. Little did he know though he'd just reunited Augustus with the raccoon's previous owner. And he would never learn that Kirk was Octavian's Greek reincarnation. But somehow that day he had gotten enough closure to last him the rest of his life.

I posted a new story called Octavian's Secret that takes a bit of a darker spin on Octavian's death. Consider it to be and Octavian PSA where Octavian tries to save the world from tragedy. Anyway go read it unless you're Thomas and then just go re-read it and stop asking me dumb questions (that rule does not apply to reviewers other than Thomas)
