Hinata, you don't deserve this.

Naruto was standing near the gate of the burial ground. Neji's funeral had just ended and everyone was giving their condolences to the Hyuga family, mostly to Hinata. Seeing Hinata the way she was hurt Naruto to the core. When she was standing next to him during the funeral, he saw the tears that slid down her cheeks. He had moved closer to her just in case she felt like she was going to collapse.

As of now, Hinata and Naruto were the only ones who were still in the burial ground. Sauske and Sakura had just finished giving their condolences to Hinata and went home. Hinata took this opportunity to go back to Neji's grave and to reflect on how much she missed him. She felt someone behind her and turned to find Naruto.

"Hinata, I-"
"Naruto, I-" They both said at once. Naruto placed his hand behind his head and scratched it nervously while nodding his head at Hinata, telling her to speak first.

"H-how have you been, Naruto-kun?" Hinata asked quietly.

"I've been better. Still getting used to having one arm." Naruto replied. He noticed Hinata looking at his amputated arm nervously. "But don't worry, Granny Tsunade is making me a senju arm for me to have. Anyway, how about you?"

"U-um. Good. I'm g-good. N-N-Naruto-k-kun. I'm f-fine." Hinata replied, starting to sob. Naruto walked over to her and pulled her into a tight hug. He felt the poor Hyuga sob into his shirt and felt her shake underneath his grip as he clutched her tighter. Seeing her in this state broke Naruto's soul. It was like a nightmare.

"Don't cry, Hinata. Please. Please don't c-cry." Naruto whispered, his voice breaking. Hinata finally calmed down and lifted her head to meet Naruto's eyes. They were beginning to get filled with tears.

"Listen to me, Hinata. I haven't been sticking by your side like I should be. You say you;re gonna stay by my side, and you actually do. But I barely notice. But not anymore. Hinata, if you need anything or need someone to talk to, I will be there! Believe it." Naruto stated firmly.

"Will you, Naruto-kun?"

"Yes, I will." Hinata smiled and hugged Naruto again, sharing the same tight hug that they shared before. As they held each other, they felt the rays of the sun emerging and the sky becoming clear.

"C'mon, let's take you home." Naruto whispered while smiling.

"Okay. T-thanks you, Naruto-kun." They walked out of the burial site in each others arms comforting each other. Once they left, a bunch of rose petals and cherry blossom petals from flowers placed on Neji's grave were pulled from their flower due to the wind and followed the two shinobi. Two shinobi who were strongly connected by a worthy sacrifice.

All that is near us we must know
Could disappear any day, be careful
The main key to finding happiness
Lies nowhere else but in my soul

You know the closer you get to something
The tougher it is to see it
And I'll never take it for granted
Let's go
