The Original Man Fan

"So, I googled you guys the other day." Charlotte's words, directed to the Man Cave's computer monitors, are meant for Henry and Ray behind her. "You've heard of fanfiction, right?"

"Yeeeah," Henry says slowly.

Without waiting for Ray's response, Charlotte continues, "Captain Man apparently gave blanket permission to write about him and Kid Danger."

She's turned around to give Ray a look, and his innocent expression wilts. "I might have. So?"

Charlotte rolls her eyes. "Well, they're not actually that bad. Although in a lot of them, the author's self-insert ends up dating Henry." Henry's clearly flattered, a proud grin spreading on his face. "And as long as you don't consider that some of them were probably written by your sister," she adds to Henry, who sputters, grin gone, "then yeah. Not bad.

"Then I found this. By 'CapnMantastic'. Shipping Captain Man with Kid Danger's mom."

"Ray," Henry groans.

"What? You don't know I wrote it." Two identical stares. "OK, well, at least in some fictional universe I get to go out with her."

Henry just slams his face into his palm repeatedly – and when he happens to zap Ray in the process, well, it could have been an accident.
