She found herself in an empty patient room, the blinds were drawn both from the light outside and from the hallway. Addison sat up slow to fully ensure that she was alone. Reatreating her legs from the stiff blanket she swung them off the side of the bed where her heels sat waiting to pain her feet again. She slipped them on and shimmied her dress back down to its length. She watched as the shadows of nurses feet glided under the door.

When the foot traffic seemed to lighten she slowly opened the door to evaluate where she was. To her surprise it was the room next door to Archer, the Archer who was no longer in his beeping room, nor was a speech provided by Bailey or Captain. Taking in a sigh of relief, two hands caught her shoulders and she nearly choked on the air that she took in. She spun around to see Arizona, smiling unapologetically, standing nearly a foot shorter than her.

"You're awake!" She used a hand to push the red heads face sideways to get view of her slept-in pony tail.

Addison pulled back to facing her, somewhat irritated by immediate conversation, "I-,yes. Have you seen my brother or Derek?" Her eyes scanned the nurses station and the elevator that passengers were stepping off of, missing half of what the tiny blonde had to say.

"Anyways here," Arizona unclipped her badge to release a hair tie. She lowered her voice, "I was a bit-well until I put it together, you're uh current situation looks a bit-"

"Is that a condom in you're hair, Doc?" Karev. At his voice Addison rolled her eyes.

"It's nice to see you too, Alex." She reached up and pulled out the glove-wrist that took a considerable amount of work to untangle. "Any residents you haven't defiled this year?"

Arizona shoved Alex and shot him a look of discern in efforts to take his greedy eyes off of Addison. He smirked, "I could ask you the same thing."

Addie took the hair tie and looped her hair into a more respectable bun, "old habits die hard, huh?" She shown a warning glare.

Alex glanced at his watch and gave off a laugh, both women looked his way in confusion.

Addison caught his attention and gestured her head for an answer.

Arizona's hands popped up, "Alex?"

Karev stretches a smile across his face, held up a hand with three fingers up, then two. Addison and Arizona looked at eachother for answers then back to the one finger being held up-

"My. My." Arizona grabbed Alex's arm before he could escape, Addie was somewhat relieved by that. "What do you know, both of my infamous doctors. Remind me again why you are both so well known?" Her hand sat on her hips as she waited for an answer. "Oh I know, you've both got an issue keeping your-"

"Bailey? Did you get arou-" Arizona broke through.

Miranda's hand shot up in efforts to stop her, "thank you, Robbins. For not sleeping with everyone in the damned hospital and for chaperoning these two before god knows what happens!"

"I've got...a thing." Alex managed to break free of Arizona's grip, starting a steady jog down the hall.

"I'm not done with you Karev." Bailey's stare followed him. "Addison, I like you. You know I like you but Karev. Really?"

Addison's gaze coned in to the dead line on the monitor across the hall while she tried to acknowledge, but ignore, Bailey.

"And what DO YOU-" Miranda caught herself before losing her control in tone. "You got a divorce."

Arizona saw the slight change in Addison as the obvious was addressed. "Bailey, if you don't mind I was wondering about one of my patients-" Bailey turned in silence to the blonde standing aside her. "I-well I know, I see you're opinions, she's your friend and you want what's best for everyone but my patient was wondering about her family?"

Bailey stared at Arizona knowing full well that she wouldn't stand for any unfair confrontation. Not ready to completely let go of her temper yet Bailey responded, "the one She hit?" She pointed a judgmental finger at Addison.

Arizona piped up, "actually-" Bailey turned uninterested in what she had to say and made her way down the hallway.

"Brothers in PT with your EXhusband," and with that, as the mighty Miranda Bailey turned a corner while shaking her head, the storm was gone.

Addison's gaze was yet to move from the monitor, her confidence was in mere existence. They stood for a few seconds in what silence they could find.

Finally Addison curled her lips in and turned to Arizona, "well?"

Arizona turned to see if she was talking to someone besides her, her attitude didn't seem to belong directed at her," What?"

The red head let out a sarcastic laugh, "it's your turn to take the floor, ostracize me, berate me? C'mon I can take it," it was laced with sarcasm. Her hands crossed in front of her as she leaned her back into the empty nurses station desk.

"Well actually-wait you were on the other end of that crash? The one last night?"

Addie raised her guilty eyebrows and nodded, "cherry on top of a fantastic week actually, thanks for asking."

Arizona was quiet and took a moment to mull over the new information. "Uhm, well the police said she blew the stop sign-I didn't know it was you-I should've put that together when the girl was talking about a red head, but she's ok and-well she will be it's just her parents-"

"Robbins-" she cut her off. "I know."

"That makes sense with your head and all." Keep stating the obvious Arizona.

"Hey," Addie stopped her before she could ramble on about anything else, "thanks for the company and defense but I've got to find my parasite-free brother and get out of here before my mind goes numb."

Arizona jumped in for a quick-coldly reciprocated hug, "you may want to take the long way since Bailey and-"

"Yeah, thanks again." Addison tried her best at a warm smile and made her way to the stairs.

Addie found her way to the PT floor and made her way down the hallway glancing into each room. As if Archers situation and destroying my car wasn't good enough. Surprise! My homewrecking father. What did I do deserve this much fun wrapped all into one week.

"Addison!" From the elevator, it was Captain. Beside him sat archer in a wheelchair and Derek. My EXHusband as Bailey very evidently thought I needed reminding. She hesitantly made her way to the elevator. "Darling, your mother and I wanted to take you for dinner tonight. She tried your phone and it went straight to voicemail." He gave her a look of irritation, "she's quite upset about your ignoring her."

"Way to go Ads you pissed off Bizzy while I have bugs in my brain," Archer pinched her arm.

"Do you think this is a joke? That this whole surgery was a joke" the elevator opened.

"Addison Adrianne, this is not the time nor place to act like this," her fathers tone was cool and collect.

"My phone is dead," they all stepped off of the elevator. She brushed her hands across her hips acknowledging the lack of her purse. "I also don't know where it is."

She glanced at Derek.

"Regardless, your mother and I would like to have you for dinner."

"As nice as that sounds," Addie gritted her teeth, "I would hate to leave Archer-maybe after he's released."

"Oh Ads do not by any means let me hold you back from family time," Archer knew exactly what buttons to push, "Derek could take my place." He beamed at his father.

"Your mother would be thrilled to have Derek join us." Both Montgomery men turned to face Derek as he pushed the wheelchair down the hall.

"I would hate to impose, especially on family time."

"Son, you are family. You're married in regardless of what divorce papers say." The Captain tightened the tension in a very Bizzy-esque manner.

"Wow, thanks for the reminder, you really know how to make me feel like a decent human being."

The Captain slowed his gate and looped his arm into his daughters to slow her. "Addison quit making this about yourself it's unbecoming, your mother wouldn't approve."

"My mother?" Addison stopped completely and waited for Derek and Archer to disappear into his room.

"Where is Bizzy anyway? She didn't respond to the voicemail I left about Archer. Hell, neither of you were here for it! So why do you care about dinner if you can't even find the time for high profile surgeries on your own children?!" She kept her voice low but stern.

The Captain stacked his shoulders and made himself tall. Addie knew if Bizzy were here there would be a punishment. "Young lady, you will fix your attitude before dinner." He fished into his pocket and grabbed out his wallet, retrieving two hundred dollar bills, "and for god sake dress in something unwrinkled and stained," he nodded towards the brown spots that we sprinkled above her left breast. Shoving the bills into her hand he walked into Archers admit room, leaving his daughter rendered speechless.

Derek walked out moments later to someone he knew fairly well, someone he would give anything to in order to get back her broken smile. A part of him wanted her to turn and let him hold her while she cried. Another wanted to turn around, walk back into her insane families room and have it out with them.

Instead she stood. Staring out a window, fists clenched, eyes acting as dams holding back god knows how many emotions.

"Ads?"

"Can we go?"

He was shocked by her held composure. She didn't break, she didn't plead, she simply asked matter of factly.

"Ok," he placed his hand low on the curve of her back as they exited the building into the parking garage. Addison's mind was too busy dancing around the fact that her father gave her money as though she were a child that couldn't make for herself, to acknowledge such a public gesture.

After both were locked away in the car, Derek asked, "would you like to pick anything up from your hotel?"

Addison nodded as she began to rummage through her purse that was left on the passenger side floorboard. Her phone, she slid it out, popped open the glove box of Derek's car, pulled out a charging cord-same make, just as always-and plugged in her phone. A small weight seemed to lift off her shoulders, a small step forward. I win this round,Seattle. It's about damn time something works in my favor.

As they approached an unfortunate yet familiar intersection her phone buzzed to life. And then buzzed again. And again-old messages just now making their way through:

Naomi:

5:24pm. Drinks later?

6:01pm. Where are you?

6:17pm. Sam and I decided to grab something to eat. We weren't sure if you were staying with Arch or not.

7:13pm. Text me when you wake up-I can't stay cooped up in a room all night!

8:54am. If you don't get back to me soon I'm calling the hospital so I know you're not dead in a ditch somewhere! Lol

9:16am. Are you expecting your parents?

9:25am. We have been invited to breakfast please give me a good excuse to not go. Or at least give me a good excuse to drink before noon-like they're not good enough ha!

9:40am. I called the hospital again-i did last night just to check in on you, they said you fell asleep in his room-but now where are you? You're starting to worry me and I don't know if I can deal with Captain and Bizzy much longer.

10:15am. If you're not dead already, I'm going to kill you. The Captain went to see your brother but your lovely mother decided to stay back.

10:43am. ADDISON.

11:07am. ????????

She dialed in Naomi's number, the phone didn't get through the first ring before it was quickly answered.

She heard the ramblings of a conversation being cut short, then a door shut.

"Where in the HELL are you?!" Naomi's voice was hushed as to not alarm anyone.

"I'm on my way there. Sorry, my phone died then, well long story short I'm coming."

"Hurry up because I respect your family but if I have to listen to your mother criticize one more thing I'm going to-"

"Woah woah Nae, Bizzy is at the hotel?"

Addison glanced at Derek and mouthed for him to pull over.

"Addison she's in your room. She insisted she see where you are staying."

"My room. She's in my room? How did she even get in?!"

"Hell if I know. But hey your dad is with-"

"Archer I know, I already had the pleasure. Listen, I know this is a lot to ask but I don't think I can handle her at the moment-"

"Addison, no. No nononono."

"Nae, you're the best person I could ask for and i trust you."

"Addison I will tear every strand of hair off you-" Addison let her trail off into her own hushed obscenities as she hung up the phone.

She sighed as she dropped her phone into her lap and stretched her neck towards the ceiling. "I guess we are going shopping after all."

Derek discreetly offered a hand out to her for comfort, she didn't take it, pretended she didn't see it then her phone began to ring. Acknowledging the caller ID as Bizzy she quickly unplugged the phone and tossed it into the backseat praying it would quickly die.

She felt Derek's eyes on her and tried to lighten the mood, "how did you put up with this willingly for eleven years?"

He grinned at her relief when the phone finally stopped ringing, "some things are worth it." Derek's phone started buzzing, they made eye contact, knowingly on the same page that it was Bizzy. Relentless Bizzy.

Addison quickly tried to stop him from answering but it was too late.

She only heard his delicate end of the conversation, when she caught the conversation establishing a time-presumably for dinner-she dug her heels into her shoes and silently warned him not to agree.

He hung up. Trying to play defense she remembered her shoes, "if I'm expected for dinner I'll be expected in heels."

"We're." He corrected.

He pulled away from the curb and began to make his way back to the city, where shopping was to ensue.

Addison's mind raced, even she could hardly keep up, "why?"

"Why what?" His tone was too simple, his factual dialect that would drive Addison crazy in an argument.

"Derek I'm tired of this. I don't know what game you're getting at but I'm done. I don't want to deal with my family and whatever the hell is going on between us."

"It's going to be ok, trust me."

"Did you hear nothing!? While you disappeared with Archer, I was cornered by Alex, Arizona and Miranda! And then turn around to find you making dinner plans with my father who also felt the need to bring up that i look terrible and suggest I can't take care of myself!"

"I didn't make dinner plans with the captain, Archer did. I may have with

Bizzy just now but that stemmed from your brother." He turned a corner, "Arizona? I mean Karev maybe and Bailey, well that's just Bailey but Arizona?"

"DEREK?!" When he looked at her he thought he saw fear. He wasn't certain but that's what he thought.

He parked the car and unlocked the doors.

Addison sat sagging in her seat with her head leaned into the window, she spoke low and defeated. "They're going to bring up Mark."

She heard him stop moving and become stone in his seat, "that's what they always do when you're brought up. 'How's Derek? It's a shame you had to go sleep with his best friend. It's a shame Derek isn't around, only took one night to ruin everything. Was it worth it?."

Wind whistles outside the car, he wanted to ask badly if it was. Was it worth it? Was he worth it?
