Summer Nights

Epilogue

Ten Months Later…

Annabeth's POV

I walked into my dorm room for the last time to grab the last of my things. I looked around to make sure I didn't leave anything when Percy walked in and grabbed my last tote.

"Hey Wise Girl, are you ready? I have the U-Haul all ready with our stuff in it." I turned to my boyfriend and nodded. Grabbing my purse I walked out of my room and down the hallway. Once we were outside, Sally helped us close the U-Haul.

"Okay, I want a picture of you two!" Sally exclaimed. Her husband, Poseidon, rolled his eyes and smiled.

"Mom! You have enough pictures from graduation yesterday." Percy complained.

"I know that. But, I want one of you two as you are moving out, about to start a new chapter of your lives."

"But—"

"Seaweed Brain, the longer you complain the longer it will take us to get home."

"Fine, you win."

"She always does, Son." Poseidon claimed.

"Okay, one… two… three!" Percy and I smiled at the camera, looking as ready as ever to start our lives.

"Okay, so we will take the U-Haul back to the house and you two will follow us." Poseidon announced. I nodded.

"Okay, see you later!" Percy said as he got into his new Jeep that he got as a graduation present.

"Didn't you want a different type of car? I mean, you've always had a Jeep."

"NO! I'll never own any other type of vehicle!" I just rolled my eyes.

About 10 minutes into our drive Percy got off an exit, but Sally and Poseidon kept going on the interstate.

"Um, Perce, you weren't supposed to get off on that exit." I said confused.

"I am taking a detour."

"Oh, and where might this detour be taking us?" I asked.

Instead of responding, Percy just turned towards me and gave me his signature smirk. I looked at the road and couldn't think of any place that he could be taking me. So I sat back and listened to the radio. About 15 minutes after we got off the interstate we pulled into a small diner.

"This was why you where smirking?" I asked, a little disappointed. I thought he was taking me somewhere special.

"Yep." He said popping the 'p'. We went in and ate, we were almost completely silent the whole meal. Once we were done, we went back outside to his Jeep and got on the road again. I decided to sleep the rest of the way home. My nap only lasted about 5 minutes though. I woke up to the sound of Percy opening up my door.

"Come on Wise Girl, I want to show you something." I gave him a confused look but hopped out of the car and took his hand.

We walked onto a stone path leading to a gorgeous, old house. The house looked as if it was built in the early 1900's. It was absolutely breathtaking. It was a white house, with grey roofing. It had two stories and each story had a porch that wrapped all the way around the house. It had blue shudders and huge bay windows on either side of the door. The backyard led to a beach. The house was like a dream. But then I was confused as to why he brought me here. Then I noticed the U-Haul in the driveway. I looked at Percy with wide eyes. He grinned at me.

"Percy?"

"Do you want to look inside?" I nodded and followed him to the door where he put a key in and walked right in.

The inside was just a beautiful. There was a huge living room when you first walked in and a huge kitchen. There was also a dining room downstairs, a bathroom and a study. Then we went up one set of stairs, there where two, on each side of the house. The upstairs had 4 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms where connected by a bathroom. The other two had their own bathrooms. The last bedroom we went into was the largest. It had gray walls with breath taking painting of sea life and the ocean hanging in different places. There was a king-sized bed, two nightstands, and a dresser. The room had its own huge bathroom and two closets.

"Percy, what is all this?" I asked.

"This, Wise Girl, is our new home." He said with a grin.

"Our new home?" I asked with a smile. He replied by nodding. "But… How?"

"I have been saving and Dad and I just opened up that new Marine Rescue center that I am running." I smiled a jumped into him. Wrapping my legs around his waist and kissing him. He wrapped his arms around my body to support me and gladly returned the kiss.

"You haven't even seen the balcony yet."

I walked outside to see the gorgeous sunset. Where this room took up the whole back half of the house, Percy and I had the closed off section of the balcony all to ourselves. I looked over to watch the sunset with my amazing boyfriend. When I turned around to tell him to hurry out here I stopped mid-sentence and froze.

Kneeling in front of me was Percy. He had his hands out with a small box in them.

"Annabeth," He said as he opened the box to reveal a gorgeous diamond ring, "will you marry me?"

I began to cry. I nodded and finally squeaked out yes. He put the ring on my finger and picked me up spinning me around.

Two Months Later…

It was the day of my wedding and needless to say I was stressed. Percy, being the Seaweed Brain he is, wanted to have our wedding two months after he proposed so we could have our wedding on June 21st on the beach in front of the lighthouse where we first kissed. Because that is the Summer Solstice and apparently it is a big deal in his family. But, for only having two months to plan, I would say everything was coming together nicely, especially since I had Juniper to help me. I would say that Thalia helped, but really she would just show up to places for the free food and every now and again say if she hated something or if she would burn something because it was so hideous. So yeah, not much help there. I don't know what Thalia is going to do when it comes to her own wedding. She and Nico have been engaged for almost 7 months now and not a single wedding detail has been planned. Meanwhile, we just found out 2 weeks ago that Juniper was pregnant!

But, back to the wedding. My hair and makeup was all fixed and gorgeous all thanks to Piper and her mom Aphrodite. Actually, they did all of the girl's hair and makeup today! Thalia was my maid of honor and Juniper and Piper were my bride's maids. Thalia had on a short, gray dress that was v-neck and tight at the stomach and looser at the waist. While, Juniper and Piper had on light blue dresses that were strapless and came to the mid thigh. There was a gray bow that wrapped around their waist and tied in the back.

As for me, my dress was very simple with lace. It was a v- neck dress that went down to the ground. The top of the dress had a lacey embroidering over the white silk. The back of the dress was a v in the back made from the lace material. My hair was in a simple up-do with two braids side by side that went into a bun at the back of my head. In the bun, Piper put two flowers in my hair, one light blue and the other gray. And of course I had on my owl necklace Percy gave to me all those years ago.

After everything was set the wedding began. As I waiting for the song to start playing for me to walk down the aisle, I began to think of how I fell in love with Percy Jackson. I smile at the thought of his name. My dad brought me out of my trance.

"Annabeth, are you ready?" He asked. I nodded and gave my father a hug.

Percy's POV

As I watched our friends walk together down the aisle, I thought of how I got here and how I was lucky enough to marry Annabeth. I was snapped out of my trance when the march started to play and Annabeth walked down the sandy aisle. I smiled as I saw my beautiful Wise Girl. She looked absolutely stunning and I couldn't take my eyes off of her. When she finally reached me at the altar the ceremony began.

It came down to our vows. I looked at Annabeth in the eyes and spoke from my heart.

"Wise Girl, I don't even know where to begin. I'll never forget the first time I met you, I thought that me running into you was just a coincidence and that I would never see you again. But when you where sitting at my dinner table later that same day, I knew that fate had something to do with it. I knew from that night, when we agreed to start over and not hate each other, that I loved you. But I didn't realize how much I loved you. You mean everything to me Wise Girl. When we weren't together those three years, I felt as if I was missing a piece of myself. And I knew that once I found you again, I was never going to let you go. Annabeth, words cannot explain how happy you becoming my wife means to me. I will love you forever."

Annabeth had a single tear running down her face.

"Wow. I don't know how to beat that—"

"But you will, you are marrying Kelp Head." Thalia chimed in and everyone laughed except for Juniper who gently hit Thalia's arm with her bouquet.

"Seaweed Brain, we have been through thick and thin together. We've survived a prank war together, multiple attacks of spiders, being separated for 3 years and so much more. And in all the time that we've known each other, you have always given me the love that I didn't think I deserved. Having to leave you that first summer was the hardest thing I've ever done, but that time away made me appreciate our love for each other even more. You and I have a special kind of love that no one else will ever have. You're my Seaweed Brain and I'm your Wise Girl. There will never be another pair like us. And no one can ever love you the way I love you. You have made me smile since day 2, because day 1 you were too busy causing my ice cream to cover my body to make me smile. And for that Percy, I will forever love you. I'm so glad we found each other."

The preacher then told us to exchange rings. Once Annabeth had her ring on, I felt a bond between us that could never be broken. I would never lose her again.

Eight Years Later…

Annabeth's POV

The doorbell rang as I was finishing up my latest design for Olympus, which I was now VP of in the Florida branch. I got up from my study and opened the door only to find no one there. Knowing exactly who was at the door, I went to the kitchen to see Thalia going through my refrigerator.

"I'm guessing Juniper is here as well? Because you wouldn't even ring the doorbell."

"She's in the living room with all of our little hellions." She said with a moth full of food.

"Okay, come on. And stop eating! We're about to start dinner." I said as I led us out of the kitchen and to the living room where Juniper and Grover and their 3 kids were along with a pregnant Piper and Jason, Nico and his and Thalia's daughter, and of course Percy and our two children.

Juniper and Grover have 3 kids. One girl and two twin boys. The boys, Kai and Kingsley, are the oldest being 8 while the girl, Kalani, is only 5.

Thalia and Nico haven't changed one bit. And their daughter, Zoë, who is also 5, is almost exactly like her mother. They have the same piercing blue eyes and are both pale, even though they live in Florida. She even has freckles on her nose. Thalia still plays pranks on Nico and Nico, even though he won't admit it, is still scared of his wife and her pranks.

And then of course there's mine and Percy's children. We have a son, Xander, and a daughter, Marina. Xander is only a few months younger than Kai and Kingsley, while Marina is 5 years old. Xander is a spitting image of his father, except for his eyes. Xander got my gray eyes. Marina looks very similar to me. She has freckles on her cheeks, a natural tan, and blonde curly hair. The only thing that she didn't get from me was my eyes. She got Percy's sea green eyes.

As the years have went by our families have grown and grown closer. All of our children are the best of friends, especially the 3 girls. They remind me a lot of Thalia, Juniper and I growing up. But I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

We sat down to our dinner as we do every year on this day. On this day we celebrate the day we all meet, so many years ago. After our dinner and a movie, Finding Dori courtesy of Percy and Xander, our friends began to leave. We waved goodbye to our friends and turned around to see Xander and Marina arguing. Percy and I smiled as we made our way to our children.

"What is going on?" I asked sweetly.

"Xander says I have to go to bed. But, I's don't wants to." Marina whined.

"It's 9 o'clock! Little babies like Marina shouldn't be up." Xander explained. Percy gave him a warning look to tell him to calm down.

"Now, Marina, it is getting late." Percy said.

"But Xander doesn't have to go to sleep yet!" Xander stuck his tongue out at his sister.

"That's okay. That just means that Xander won't get to hear a bedtime story like you do!" I explained.

"Oh! Oh! Can you tell be the special story!" Marina pleaded. Percy laughed as he picked up our daughter.

"I'd love to tell that story. Let's get you ready for bed Little Owl."

"Brother, you can come listen to the story too if you wants." Marina said as Percy carried her up the stairs.

"Stories are for babies." He pouted. I turned to him.

"Suit yourself." I said, knowing that he got his stubbornness from me.

Once I got Marina all dressed and ready for bed Percy and I tucked her in and sat at the edge of her bed.

"Okay, are you ready for the special story about summer nights?" I asked.

"YES!" She squealed.

"Okay—"I began

"Wait!" Xander came running into his sister's room and got in the bed beside her. Marina smiled at him and gestured for me to start the story. I looked at Percy and smiled. He placed a kiss on my forehead and I began to tell the story.

"Well it all started when a Seaweed Brain literally ran into a Wise Girl…"
