Act 2 Chapter 2: Flame on! Just not here

A/N: He he he…. So I am actually the worst huh? It's been forever since I've had the time to write now that I'm in college! But sigh, excuses, excuses. I'm sorry guys! But now I'm giving y'all a chapter!

And to answer the latest review, the whole of them teaming together was so that Natsu can SAVE LUCY! He fully expects to be reunited with Lucy. Will he? Well just wait and find out, especially I am finishing this in two more chapters or so.

Natsu's personal Hell (Martin POV)

"DIE!" He yelled and I ducked under his fist. "YOUUU! DIE!" He roared like he was a feral animal and he suddenly lit his entire body on fire with his magic. Which shocked me, 'He can still use his magic?!' I jumped back and put my hands together, "Angelic Protection!" I yelled as he put his hands to his face and yelled, "FIRE DRAGON'S ROAR!" A large pillar of fire came right at me and would have fried me if I hadn't used my own magic.

"Natsu! Calm yourself! I'm not here to fight you or do you anymore harm!" I yelled but could easily tell he was unconvinced. I took in his general appearance and could tell he had been here a long time in terms of his human years. If I had to guess, he had been here well over a millennium. Well at least a millennium had passed in here. Outside, in Earthland, only about ten years had passed since Gray Fullbuster had died. "I am here to free you!"

"LIAR! DIE!" He yelled again and put his hand up in front of himself, "Fire Dragon's Flame Sword!" He yelled and a sword made purely of flames appeared in front of him. He then charged and was closing the space between us very quickly.

"If you don't stop you'll never see Lucy Heartifilia again." I said simply right as he had jumped at me and swung his sword down. 'I hope he's still sane enough to remember who that is, or I'm dead. Hell, why didn't I just restrain him? Or use my damn sword! Wait why haven't I been decapitated yet?'

I looked to my side and saw he had stopped his attack just short of my neck. "Lucy."

"What?"

"Where is she?"

"In hell proper."

"And you can get us there?" He asked and I knew that while that was true, I immediately understood something. I had no way of keeping him with me if I just took him with me to hell. He'd probably just run off looking for her and I have no clue where in hell she actually is, or that she even is in hell proper. I'm just assuming she is. "Well can you?"

"Yes. BUT." I said and looked at him. "I need your help with something."

"Of course you do." He said and the sword disappeared. "You have five minutes to explain what you need help with and to convince me why I should help. If not I'm killing you and taking that sword. I know that's how you got here and how you expect to get us into hell. I saw you use it to get here, so it must have been what you use to travel between dimensions." I was shocked at how a man who had looked feral and insane and even sounded the part just so casually sounded like he was quick witted and able to smell bullshit. "Plus I can sense that the help you need is gonna be for something enormous. SO, convince me." He said the last part while waving his hand in front of himself, he then sat down and waved his hand causing a timer made of fire to appear above us. 'Just what has he been doing these past thousand years!?'

I nodded and took a deep breath. "I am on a mission to kill Satan." I said and he immediately looked at me like I was crazy.

"You what?"

"Yes, if I don't do so soon then he will feel strong enough and attack Earthland directly. Killing everyone who is still alive. So I need to kill him. And that's where you come in." I said and looked at him, his face still in shock over my plan. "I need some serious fire power, no pun intended, if I'm going to take him down."

He blinked and looked at me with no confidence in his eyes. "This plan has more holes in it than Zeref did when I killed him. And yes, he died with more than one hole." He said and shook his head, "Besides, even if we get a chance at him, what makes you think I can actually do any meaningful damage?"

I looked at him confidently, "You won't need to." I said and he looked me like he was very confused. "Our next stop is the personal hell of Gray Fullbuster, Demon Slayer."

Now I had his attention. His head had been looking away but immediately snapped back to me when I said that. His eyes were now full of… belief? "You know; this plan will still probably fail. But," He said and stood, walking over to me "If there is anything I want to do, I want to see Lucy again. But if that doesn't happen, then at least seeing Gray and showing him up by killing more demons will suffice. So, tell me how we're getting there."

I nodded, unsure if he was being serious or not. He has gone from looking insane and feral to normal but skeptical to looking like… well honestly I can't even tell anymore. 'Just how stable mentally is he? I mean extreme isolation like this for a thousand years will undoubtedly change a man. But then again, God did order this. What other choice do I have?' I nodded at him after finishing my reverie and said, "Like you noticed, this sword here can go between dimensions at will. And it already has two set places already primed to take us to. Here. And Gray's personal hell. So if you'll stand next to me, we'll go."

He nodded and stepped right next to me. I unsheathed the sword and swiped in front of me, opening the portal straight to our next stop: Gray Fullbuster. I stepped through the now open portal as did Natsu and we then arrived in another part of hell. And our entrance did not go unnoticed. Especially since we landed right on top of a group of demon's game of cards. "HEY!" one of them yelled.

"Hey its an angel!" Another one yelled and suddenly they were standing.

"Great job genius." Natsu grumbled as he stood behind me to face the demons there.

"What? Its not my fault we landed here, I was just given the sword to get here." I retorted and put my hand on that very sword. "I count ten, five around us and another five on the way to Gray's prison."

"Yeah, I can smell them. And even more are coming, we better get this done quickly." Natsu replied and then he jumped towards the two in front of him, "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"

I sighed as the demons he attacked yelled and I quickly unsheathed my sword, "Angelic Winds!" I yelled as I dashed at the three demons and some winds picked up, creating a maelstrom and creating an even larger effect when I slashed my sword at them. I sliced one of them clean in half and the wind the expanded and cut up the other two demons, making them look like ribbons.

I then started running towards the small shack that housed Gray. Natsu caught up to me and asked, "You sure this is where he is?"

"Yes. His prison is to remind him of his sins and remind him of his past." I said and looked ahead, "And that hut reminds of the last person he truly loved."

"Juvia?"

"Yes, in the year after Tartarus he trained with Juvia and they stayed in a hut that looked just like the one up ahead." I answered and I looked ahead, "The five up ahead include a major demon named Anger. Be caref…"

"Lightning Fire Dragon's ROAR!" Natsu yelled as he suddenly launched an attack at the demons and blasted away all of them except for Anger.

"AN ANGEL?! OH NOW I'M MAD!" The demon yelled and looked around himself, "YOU DEFEATED MY MEN! THOS USELESS FOOLS! NOW I'M PISSED!" He looked at me and stiffened a little. "AND YOU! I HAVEN'T SEEN ONE OF YOU…"

"SHUT UP!" Natsu yelled as he suddenly dashed forward and yelled, "Crimson Lotus: Exploding Lightning Blade!" His hands became imbued with fire and lightning and used them to attack Anger. He slashed his hands in front of himself and Anger's chest was cut open.

'WHAT?! HOW STRONG IS HE?!' I thought as I looked on in utter shock. How the hell was Natsu this strong? He was not even close to this strong when he was alive!

"GAH! YOU ARE A DEMON?!" Anger asked as he bled profusely from his chest, "YOU! I KNOW WHO YOU ARE! NATSU DRAGNEEL! A DEMON WHO HAS NEVER BEEN IN HELL! YOU…!"

Anger was about to keep yelling, then Natsu Ran him through with his hand; grabbing his heart as he did. "Shut. Up." Natsu said as he burned the heart in his hands. He then walked over the body, leaving me standing there in pure shock, how the hell was he this strong?! "Oi. Hurry it up, the faster we do this the faster I get my reward." Natsu called back and immediately I realized the truth. He had risen in strength because of the love he had for Lucy.

He was a man on a mission. There was no way he would be stopped now. I nodded and ran up to the shack, opening the door to find something strange. There in the middle was Gray, sitting on the floor doing nothing but just sitting there. 'Isn't he supposed to be screaming in sadness thanks to the torture...'

"I have been here for over a thousand years, I no longer am able to cry. I only feel the immense sorrow that I have caused. So let's get this scene over with." Gray said. 'Scene?' "Ah, Juvia you're back. How did fishing go today?" He said and I realized what was happening. 'He's in the illusion and thinks that we are Juvia. Well then.'

I unsheathed my sword and quickly stabbed him as Natsu snickered, thinking that we were Juvia must have been funny to him somehow. "Gray, I release you from your prison!" I yelled and suddenly a giant light shone in the room and we were all engulfed in it.

Gray immediately opened his eyes as I removed the sword and started panting, "What?! Where am… I …. Juvia!" He yelled and looked around the room, before stopping and laying his eyes on Natsu. "NATSU!? What is this another new scene?!"

"No." Natsu said calmly and then surprised me even more than he already had today. He punched Gray straight in the jaw, knocking him onto his back, and said, "That's for getting us into this situation ice-prick."

However, instead of getting angry Gray merely touched his jaw and sat up, "Holy shit! You're real!"

"Yes. Now you wanna stop being a dumbass and do something useful for once ice-princess?"

"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?"

"ICE-PRINCESS, WHAT BEING IN HELL MAKE YOU DEAF!"

"YOU WATCH YOUR MOUTH FLAME-BRAIN!"

"ENIOUGH" I commanded, interjecting in their childish moment, causing them both to look at me. "Now, if we want to do what we came here and broke Gray out of his prison to do we need to get moving."

"Oh? Flame-brain needs my help?" Gray asked coyly as I shook my head at his childlike behavior.

"No, not really. I could do this job all by myself," Lie. "But I wanted to give you a chance to redeem yourself and help me. And maybe find Juvia and, more importantly: Lucy."

"What did you just say?"

"He's right Gray." I said which caused Gray to look at me. "with your help, we can finish this job."

"Which is?"

"Well, what else would an angel and a demon need a devil-slayer for?" I said as if it were the most obvious thing ever. "We're going to kill the devil."
