The light cast over the roofs of the city. Someone was on the roof laying down as the light was beamed over the person. Asarirn slowly opened his eyes the very moment the light touched his face. He turned his body away from light as he wanted to go back to sleep. But then, turned back lying flat on his back. Asarirn knew the time was morning and needed to wake up. What was the point though?

Asarirn attempted to lift his right arm up, but his arm felt heavy.

"I hate this spell so much," Asarirn said under his breath.

But that was the least of his worries. The one thought that kept recurring in his head made him forget what was the time of day. Actually, what he told Three last night.

Flashback...

The city remained dark as the night took hold of the time. Everything was silent as two dark figures leaped across the rooftop. After their escape from the girls of Team RWBY, Three and Asarirn zipped across the rooftops of Vale until they knew for sure no one was following.

They stopped at a secluded rooftop. The moment Asarirn landed, he walked a couple of steps before collapsing onto his hands and knees. Asarirn followed that by heaving breathing. Three quickly ran to his aid.

"I am fine," Asarirn managed to catch his breath.

"Are you sure?" Three was being doubtful. "You can rest at the stronghold. Once you recovered, we can figure out what to do without the situation at hand."

"You know I cannot do that, Three," Asarirn forced himself off the ground. "I don't want to deal with someone trying to assassinate me during my slumber. I am better off sleeping on this hard surface." Asarirn said as he tapped his foot on the ground.

Three went quiet before he spoke. "You never did mention what was so special about this world. You could hide out anywhere in our world. He could hide on the other side of the world if you have to, but you chose to stay in this world. What is so special here than in our world?"

Asarirn stumbled as he walked over to ledge of the rooftop. Three haven't made any effort to assist Asarirn. He knew Asarirn wouldn't want his help. Asarirn stared over the city with everybody gone about their normal lives while, people like Asarirn, hid in the shadows.

"I suppose I should tell you," Asarirn spoke while looking over the city, "since I trusted you. Before I tell you, I need to ask you a question, Mervin." Asarirn turned around to look at Three. He raised both of his hands into the air. "What do you think about this world?"

Three don't know what was supposed to be the meaning of the question. To find the answer, Three simply looked around.

"I can't really say much," Three was at a lost. "This world looked peaceful."

Asarirn only could be reacted by shaking his head. "Don't focus what is front of you."

Three focused his senses a lot more. He felt mana ran through his fingers. "This world has a high concentration of mana."

Asarirn left out chuckle by Three's response. "Well, I supposed that's one of the reasons."

"Then what?" Three sounded impatient. "What is so special about this world, Asarirn?"

Asarirn stared blankly at Three for a few moments. "What do you say if we all move here, the whole organization?"

Three was shocked to hear what Asarirn had said. He doesn't know what to say about that.

"That's rather a big move. May I ask why?"

"Think about this, Three?" Asarirn began to talk. "Why did we take up the black coat?"

"We took up the coats because we had abandoned our old lives. This gave us the chance for a second life."

"That's true," Asarirn agreed. "Also, to give people a second chance who was rejected by the world. This is the reason why we help people in those in need. Especially people who had lost everything. Because of our decision, we are rejected by the world. Rejected by people corrupted by power who doesn't care for others but for themselves. That's why we dispose of them within the shadows. Because of that, the world hates us, scared of us because we were doing the good deed." There was a moment of silence before Asarirn. "That is what we are; the Silent Angels. We do what we can to help."

"What is special about this world?" Three repeated himself. "You never said the purpose of this world."

"This could be our second chance, Mervin," Asarirn explained. "This could be our chance to live our lives without being feared by the world. There are many opportunities for everyone."

Three scanned the area around him. The only thing he saw was lights of the city glistening from the distance. There was a lot for Three to take in from Asarirn. Was this the chance that we have been waiting for? Or was this too good to be true? Either way, he doesn't have in his heart to trust this world. Can't be too careful, Right? But this decision was up to Asarirn.

"Are you going to have everybody migrate without their consent?" Three wanted to be sure.

"That's wasn't my intention," Asarirn knew Three had some doubts. "This will be a group vote. I will give the same points, as I had told you. If the majority is in favor of the proposal, that is when we will move here."

"That's a pretty bold move, Asarirn."

"However," Asarirn sounded with a bit of dread. "I don't expect this to happen anytime soon. We have a lot of more important things to discuss." Asarirn faced Three. "Any chance on locating any traitors among us?"

"Without revealing myself or compromising the search, I managed to locate a few grunts. I am continuing my search for more as we speak."

"I see..." was the only thing Asarirn said as he does not sound pleased. "There is nothing more I can do, expect to wait this out."

"What are you planning to do during the meantime?"

"I am trying to make these people in this world trust me. Enough for us to feel welcome."

"On that note," Three spoke as he bowed towards Asarirn. "I shall depart for the night. I wouldn't want anybody to suspect me of anything. Are you going to be alright by yourself?"

Asarirn only nodded his head in response. Three bowed once more before he departed. Asarirn watched as Three vanished into thin air, knowing very well he was heading for the portal. The only thing Asarirn was able to accomplish was to sleep for the night.

Flashback end...

Asarirn was curled like a ball as he remained seated on the rooftop. For the duration of the early morning, he remained seated; unmoving. Time passed until Asarirn waited enough. He glanced over at his hand. He opened his hand, extending out his finger. Then quickly closed his hand, forming a fist. He has done that a couple of times until he determined his soreness faded away.

Asarirn uncurled from his ball as he attempted to stand. He struggled a bit due some soreness remained on his body. After a bit, Asarirn stood on his feet. He simply stared out to the city. He could not believe the day and night version of Vale were completely different and yet they were the same city.

Asarirn reached into his pocket and produced his scroll. He checked the time and scroll said: 8:34. There was two notification: one for class and the other was unread messages. There was a moving banner at the top of the screen. That said: Class 1 is now in session. All students must attend their classes. Asarirn ignored that for the time being but focused more on the messages he had received. A closer inspection found he had two unread messages from Ruby Rose. He checked them.

The first one read:

"The girls are going to get some breakfast before classes. I wanted to know if you want to join us. You know... as a team. Nothing weird or anything."

The second one read:

"We didn't see you at breakfast. Well, we are heading for class. Don't be late."

Despite everything that had happened, Ruby still message him. "I'm already late for class," Asarirn sighed to himself. "But that should be the least of my worries."

Asarirn stared blankly at the screen. Wasn't because of Ruby's message, but more on the fact he does not know his next course of action. After all that had happened, he cannot simply return back to his team. He felt he might get bombarded with questions.

"I still have all day to figure what to do," Asarirn began talking to himself. "I can't simply explain I was a weapon master. Someone who can't fully control his powers. I left because I was afraid of what others think of me." Asarirn stopped himself in his thoughts. "Can't be there are a bunch of girls is the reason why I have a hard time explaining what had happened."

Asarirn continued to think about his situation. In which ended by Asarirn started to scratch his head vigorously as nothing came to mind.

"The main thing is what would they say if I came back? I can't simply say I left because I lost control of my powers due to the fact I am Nightlyis Weapon Master. A Nightlyis who ignore their practice."

Before Asarirn could continue on with his deal, a caw sound caught his attention. He turned his head slowly towards the sound. Sitting on the edge of the rooftop was a crow. Asarirn stared at the crow as the crow stared back with its red eyes. Asarirn did not realize the crow was there until it made a noise.

The crow continued to stare at Asarirn as Asarirn held up his hand. With a quick snap of his fingers, he vanished in black smoke. The crow remained there for a few more seconds before letting out another caw sound. The crow flew away from the building and sour through the sky over the city.

-*RWBY*-

The bells of the school rang as that was the signal for classes to end. The room of team RWBY remained quiet for a bit more. After a couple of minutes, the doorknob turned and the door swung open. The girls of Team RWBY entered the room as they talked about their recent lecture. The girls used the time in between classes to return to their dorm room. They used the time to either switch out books for the next lecture, or some used as a breather. However, as they entered the room, everything turned to silence.

The team stared into the room as they expected someone to be there. However, there was no one besides them.

"He is still no here, huh?" Yang was the one to finally broke the silence.

Everyone remained quiet as the thought of their fifth member was never going to show up.

"Maybe he will show up for class," Ruby kept her positive attitude.

"We have one more class for the day, Ruby," Weiss shattered her dream. "The chances for Arranis to return are pretty low now."

Weiss was the only one to head over to her desk to pick up her next lecture's book while everyone stood at the door. Soon, the rest followed except for Ruby. She stood as she tried to figure out what did she do wrong. Yang noticed her sister's sadness. Yang walked over to Ruby and placed her hand on Ruby's shoulder.

"You did nothing wrong, sis," Yang sounded like she read Ruby's mind. "Arranis is properly going through some stuff right now." Yang smiled at Ruby for reinsurance. "Come on, we don't want to be late for our last class for the day."

Ruby nodded as she gathered the things she needed for class. With that said, everyone left the room for their lecture, leaving the room empty and quiet once more.

-*RWBY*-

The library is the area where students of Beacon goes to further their education. Every day, students spend time in the library in a group for group studies. However, today was something different for the library. There were a lot more whispers of students going through the library than your average day. What was the reason? The whispers seemed to be talking about a certain individual.

Asarirn Nightlyis sat in one of the empty tables of the library as he read one of the books that the library has to offer. Near him was a stack of books, estimated to be around six or seven books. As he read through one of the books, he heard the whispers around him. He knew very well they are certainly talking about him.

"Is he really the fifth member of Team RWBY," said one female student.

"He kept his face hidden from everyone," said another student. "I wondered if those girls ever saw what he looked like under that hood."

"With the hood, I believed that is what makes him mysterious."

"I think anyone with a hood like that would be mysterious."

"Have you heard what happened during the fight between him and Cardin?"

"To be honest, I believed Cardin did deserves what happen to him. All he is is a big bully."

"I don't know. This guy nearly killed him from what I heard."

Asarirn continued to read through the current book he had as he continued to hear the conversation of these students. Asarirn ignored them for the fact that listening to them was not the reason for him to be in the library today. The reason for him to be in the library was he wanted information. Ever since he arrived in this world, he tried to figure this world "rules" and ensure he does not reveal he was not born in this world. Sure, he trusted Ozpin with that secret, but he did not have much of a choice. Asarirn just finished the book he was reading without the information he needed. He reached for the next book as he sensed someone approached him.

"Is this seat taken?" Asarirn heard a calm male voice near him.

Asarirn looked up to see a familiar face. Unexpecting, Ren stood there with his hand placed on the chair across from Asarirn's. Ren had his school uniform on, considering classes are still in session.

"Help yourself," was the only thing Asarirn had said while continuing reading his book.

Ren pulled the chair out and sat upon. As he sat down, Ren has his hands together and simply stared at Asarirn. Asarirn knew very well he wanted to talk to him about the whole situation. However, Asarirn kept reading his book.

"I heard you haven't returned to your dorm for the last couple of days," Ren finally said something. Asarirn didn't respond as he continued to read the current book. "I also heard they have been worried sick ever since your disappearance. Was it because of what happened between you and Cardin?"

Asarirn finally stopped reading as he lifted his head from the book. He looked at Ren as he closed the book.

"Why do they care?" Asarirn spoke as he continued to stare at Ren.

Ren only responded with a smile. "Because of all of the past experience you had with them. They see you as a trusted person, a powerful comrade, and especially... a friend."

"I'm confident I am not their friend," Asarirn said with a slight bit of doubt.

"Oh, trust me, you are their friend. Even you don't see them as one, they count you as one."

Asarirn was rendered speechless because of what he heard from Ren. He doesn't know what to do then. Even up until now, he has no idea on what to say.

"Because of what happened to me during that fight, I don't know how they would respond to that. I just don't know what to say to them."

"The most important thing to them is for you to return home."

Asarirn was in deep thought as he was trying to figure out what to say to them. Again, his mind was filled with endless possibility on how to go about it.

"I will think on that," Asarirn said which caused Ren to smile. "I have a couple of question for you. If you don't mind."

"Ask away."

"First Question. Most of the time, I see you with the orange hair girl all the time. This is the first time I don't see you with her. Did something happen?"

"Nora?" Ren asked for clarification.

Asarirn nodded.

"Don't get me wrong. Nora has always been by my side all this time. The case is I said I was going to the library, but she made it clear she didn't want to go because she finds libraries boring. I simply told her I would be here."

"I see," Asarirn nodded his head. Considering the short amount of time Asarirn has been with them, he knew very well Nora was a loudmouth. He really can't afford to be spotted by her, which can turn into another cat and mouse game, if Nora tells Team RWBY.

"What was your second question?" Ren asked as a reminder to Asarirn.

"What can you tell me about Semblances?" Asarirn did not beat around the bush.

Ren slightly tilts his head to the side as that was one of the questions he was not expecting to be asked. Considering everyone in the whole Remnant knows the origin of everyone's semblance. However, lately, he has been hearing Arranis was not from any of the main cities. Maybe he did not receive some education in regards to that field.

"Well," Ren started to explain. "Based on our history of people are born from dust, our semblances are a manifestation of our souls. Even though, our aura protects our soul, our semblance releases from our souls. Some say our semblance appear based on our personality, or others say our semblances define who we are. There are a few that won't use theirs unless they are in extreme condition."

Asarirn noticed Ren narrowed his eyes as he stared down at the table in front of him. Ren kept that look only for a brief moment before he fixed his gaze back at Asarirn. With that, Asarirn could tell that would be a touchy subject if he would ask. He decided this would be the best if Asarirn did not say anything about it.

"Right," Asarirn listened to the explanation. "Would it be possible for someone to have multiple semblances? Or possible to obtain new ones?"

Ren immediately shook his head in response to the questions Asarirn had asked. "Never in history, someone had multiple semblances or ever replaced theirs'. To make things simple, one semblance per soul."

"I see," Asarirn said as he gave a quick glance over his hand.

"Besides," Ren continued, "I do not know why you want a different semblance. I believe the one you have right now should suffice."

"Mine?" Asarirn sounded a bit confusing. He simply stared at his hand.

"Your semblance," Ren mentioned once again, "your ability to control elemental properties."

"Right," was the only thing Asarirn said. Asarirn was under the impression this world does not understand the concept of magic. He decided to keep that to himself and deceived everyone that his magic was his semblance. "Thanks for the information."

"All I can say-" before Ren could finish what he was about to say, there was a loud voice called out.

"REN!" a female voice came from outside of the library but could be heard perceptible within the library. Ren knew exactly who that was.

"That's Nora," Ren told Asarirn. "She must have got bored of waiting for me and is looking for me."

"Right," Asarirn sounded a bit concern. He figured Nora was a loud mouth among Team JNPR.

"As I was saying before," Ren continued on, "all I can say if you needed someone to talk to, I don't mind listening."

"Ren!" Nora sounded a lot closer.

"I will keep that in mind." was the only thing Asarirn said.

"Ren!" Nora walked around the corner of the shelves of books. Nora still had her school uniform on. Ren faced in Nora's direction as he heard Nora called out his name.

"This is a library," Ren reminded Nora. "We have to be quiet for the other student."

"Who were you talking to?" Nora ignored what Ren had said. "I heard you were talking to someone." Nora peered past Ren to see who that person was.

Ren turned back towards the table. To his amazement, Arranis, the person he was talking to, vanished without a trace. Ren can only smile from all that.

"No one at all," Ren Told Nora.

"Well, alright then," Nora could have sworn he heard Ren was talking to someone but decided to shrug that topic off. "Ren! I'm hungry." Nora's stomach growled.

"I suppose it is that time for dinner," Ren made the comment. "Let's go get something to eat.

Nora almost jumped in excitement as she was going to eat. Both Ren and Nora departed for the cafeteria with dinner in mind.

-*RWBY*-

Later that night, the team of RWBY resides in their dorm room. After a long day of lectures, the team wanted to stay in their dorm room for the night. However, that was not the last of their school work. The whole team remained quiet in their room as they are entranced by studying.

Every one of the girls is all ready for bed as they were already wearing their sleepwear. Weiss had her usual nightgown with her white slick hair down. She occupied one of the desks of the room as she read one of the schoolbooks and writing notes down in a separate sheet of paper. Blake had her sleep kimono robe on but kept her black ribbon on to conceal her Faunus cat ears. She occupied her bed as she laid back as she read her textbook in bed. Yang had her simple black shorts and her special orange tank top. She sat on Arranis' bed with her legs crossed because she would find a pain to climb up and down from her bed to grab a book. Yang read through her textbook and underline anything she believed what was important to remember. And the leader of the group, Ruby, had her black top with her pajama pants. She occupied her bed above Weiss as she laid on her stomach and read her textbook.

After a while of complete silence, one of the girls had enough of the silence. That person was Yang. She ended her studying by frantically scratching her head with both hands.

"I can't take this anymore!" Yang burst through the silence as she fell with the bed catching her underneath. "We have been in classes all day today, I don't see the point in studying in our free time."

"Welcome to school," Blake said with her sly remark.

"I wanted to join this school, so I can punch monsters in their faces, not to learn the different properties of plants," Yang continued with her outburst.

"Being a Huntress does not mean to become a barbaric fighter," Weiss explained as she kept her eyes on her book without breaking her concentration. "The things we learn are the sole purpose of surviving out of the kingdoms and effectively executing Grimm without dying."

"I understand all this stuff," Yang remained laid back on the bed. "I thought there are more important things to take care of."

"Like what?" Blake asked while switching to another textbook.

"I thought we were going to find Arranis," Yang explained. "You know our missing fifth member."

"There is no point," Blake stated.

"What?!" Yang seemed surprised as she sat back up.

Ruby jumped off her bed in order to be part of the conversation. "She right," Ruby agreed with Blake. "There is no point on trying to find Arranis. We already had a hard time finding him the night before. Who knows, how do we know we won't find him at all. We will be just wasting our time. Besides, I feel like we should leave him alone."

Yang fell back on Arranis' bed. "Lame," was the only thing Yang said. Her chances of getting out of studying for the night gradually decreasing.

Another five minutes passed since that last conversation with everyone back to studying. Yang had the urge of doing anything that wasn't involved with studying or anything involving school work. She gave a look at her teammates. Weiss and Blake were studying with their eyes glued to their textbook. Over to Ruby's bed, Yang can see Ruby's head, since Ruby's bed was elevated above the ground. Ruby occasionally scratched her hair as she tried to understand but kept forcing her to study. Yang had an idea for a break from her studying.

Yang closed the book along with a stretch of her arms. She simply stood up from the bed and casually walked over towards the door. Before she could grasp the doorknob, someone stopped her by calling out Yang's intentions.

"Where do you think you're going?" Weiss' voice caused Yang to freeze.

"You know, I wanted to take a breather from studying. I wanted to get some fresh air before I get back at the good old studying," Yang tried to convince her teammates.

"You're not trying to get out of studying, are you?" Ruby hopped off her bed to confront her sister.

"I would never do such a thing, now would I?" Yang tried to play innocent.

Everyone gave doubtful looks at Yang. Yang felt there was no way of convincing them otherwise. In the end, she let out a sigh of defeat.

"Okay look. I just wanted to take a breather from studying," Yang explained. "All I wanted to do was get some fresh air outside. And I promise I will be back in a few minutes."

"Well okay," Ruby smiled at Yang. "Just make sure you don't take too long. Remember we have an upcoming exam. I just want my whole team to be ready for it."

"I will be right back," Yang said as she held up a thumbs up for reassurance. Yang left the room as she closed the door behind her.

-*RWBY*-

Yang proceeded through the hallway of the dorms in order to reach the stairway to the roof. Since their room resided on the top floor of the building, getting some fresh air would be quicker by going to the rooftop than going all the way down to the ground level. Yang slowly walked up the stairs as she tried to delay herself from going back to her room to study.

"You know when your team is close to you is when they know you are trying to skip out on studying," Yang chuckled to herself.

Yang continued to walk up the stairs until she had reached a door that led to the rooftop. There was a small window on the door. She checked the window to ensure there was nobody else on the rooftop. Yang heard from Team JNPR, occasionally Pyrrha and Jaune would go to the rooftop for some private training. Considering Wonder Boy was having trouble standing on his own. However, that was not the case. Jaune and Pyrrha were not there for the night but someone else was. She cupped her hands around her eyes as she leaned in close to the window. Through the window, she could see a dark figure sitting near the edge of the rooftop. A closer look at the person revealed that the person was wearing a black robe with red trims all over. Yang widens her eyes in amazement as she stood back from the window. She could not believe she found Arranis happened to be here on the rooftop. This was her chance to greet him with open arms.

Yang slowly and gently pushed on the door to open. As the door slowly opens, ensuring not to make any sound from the moving mechanism of the door, the cool night breeze rush in through crack of the door. She felt nice and refreshed from the cool breeze brushing against her body. Yang was actually relieved she wore only just her orange tank top and her little black shorts. But that is not important at the moment. She kept on slowly moving the door until the door was fully open.

Yang stepped out to the rooftop. She began her long process of closing the same door she had open before. Yang slowly closing the door as she was out on the rooftop. She would consistently gaze back over to Arranis to ensure he was still there and unaware of her presence. As the door fully closed without making any sound, Yang faced towards Arranis. She began slowly pace towards Arranis without trying to make any noise. Yang took some notes from Blake since she was nimble like a cat.

Yang managed to reach the halfway mark between the rooftop door and Arranis.

"I know you are there," Asarirn called out to Yang, forcing her to stop in the mist of her tracks. Asarirn did not move at all after he called out to Yang.

Yang dropped her attempted at stealth and simply walked over to Asairrn. She got close enough to Asarirn but kept some distance so she believed she was not causing any pressure.

"So, how's it going," Yang finally spoke, trying to make some small talk.

"Nothing at all," Asarirn responded without turning his head to acknowledge Yang.

Yang moved up to the ledge next to Asarirn. She sat down with her feet hanging off the edge. Yang would recurrently swing her feet back and forth as she had no fear of heights.

"You know the whole team misses you," Yang continued on. "For Weiss, you do not expect her to care but she does care about her missing teammate. My little sister, Ruby, talked about you all the time after you left. She acted like she has a crush on you, but I know she wants you back."

Asarirn didn't say anything or made any gesture liked he cared.

Yang gave a sadden look as she felt she cannot convince him, but there was a question she wanted to know. "Are you planning to come back?"

"I don't know," Asarirn finally said something.

"You know we are supposed to be a team," Yang tried to push Asarirn. "You are a part of Team RWBY. If anything, that had happened to you, we can help you push through it."

Once again, Asarirn didn't say anything.

"Is it something to do with those black wings you had when you fought Cardin?"

"That is not of your concerns," Asarirn said with cold tone.

"We can help you if you have problems," Yang pleaded with him.

"There is nothing you can do to help," Asarirn stood up on the edge of the roof.

"So, what?" Yang sounded like she was losing this conversation. "Are you planning on leaving?"

"That's the plan."

"You know I will follow you until I can convince you to come back," Yang tried to not give up this fight.

"I doubt you would."

"What do you-" Before Yang could finish asking what he meant by that, Asarirn simply walked off the rooftop of the building. She watched as Asarirn descended toward the ground. Before Asarirn would make contact with the ground, a purple magic appeared on the ground underneath him. A small vortex of wind brewed in between of them as Asarirn's fall was broken by the vortex. Asarirn landed perfectly on the ground as the magic dissipated into the air. Asarirn only glanced back at the roof for Yang's reaction. Yang felt she can tell he had a small smug look under his hood.

Yang tried to find a way to follow him, but for some reason, she had one idea in mind. "I'm going to jump."

Asarirn cocked his head a little bit as he was somewhat confused by what she had said. "I doubt you would," Asarirn tried to sound he was right.

Asarirn turned around as he began to walk away from the dorms. He walked a couple of steps before he stopped. Asarirn stood there for a couple of seconds before he let out a deep sigh. Asarirn quickly swung his body around as he whipped out his hand. The same purple magic circle from before appeared in front of his hand. Another of the same magic circle appeared on the ground in front of Asarirn. A small vortex of wind rapidly appeared from the ground, catching Yang before she could hit the ground. Yang smiled as she gave a look that she somehow knew Asarirn would catch her before she could hit the ground.

Asarirn let out another sigh as he closed his hand. The magic dissipated into the air. Yang gently touched the ground as the vortex vanished. Asarirn turned around once more and began walking away. Yang simply watched him walk away without saying anything. Asarirn walked a couple more times and then stop. He only turned his head back.

"Are you coming along?" Asarirn asked.

Yang smiled as she jumped in excitement. She quickly darted to catch up to Asarirn. Asarirn started to walk away as soon as Yang caught up. She followed along.

-*RWBY*-

In the creed of night, Asarirn and Yang walked along the courtyard, located next to dorms. The area consisted of picnic tables if they wish to have lunch outside. Next to that area was a nice garden section with a flower batch surrounding a small pond. Great area for a simple stroll through the day. There are some benches located throughout the garden. The whole area was illuminated by the lamp posts. Asarirn walked up to one of the said benches and sat on one side, leaving the other side open for Yang. Yang just sat next to Asarirn without saying anything.

"If there are any questions you want to ask me, go ahead," Asarirn spoke, "I will answer the ones I can."

Yang sat there for a moment as she tried to figure out questions to ask. She knew there are some things she wanted to ask but Yang knew very well he would not answer. There a question in particular in mind she wanted to ask.

Flashback...

The black wings on his back flapped uncontrollably as Asarirn struggled to regain control. Asarirn grasped his head with his left hand.

"YOU'RE NOT THE ONE WHO'S IN CONTROL! I AM!" Asarirn roared.

Asarirn held out the clawed arm. Both the black claw and the wings vanished into black smoke. Asarirn collapsed onto his hands and knees. He breathed heavily as remained where he was.

Fast Forward...

The girls of Team RWBY were discussing some important matters in their rooms.

"Remember that night before our entrance exam, when we first talked to each other," Blake began to explain, "Remember the book I was reading that night."

"If I recall correctly," Ruby tried to recollect her memories, "it was a story about a man with two souls, struggling to have for control."

"Exactly," Blake confirmed.

Flashback end...

"Do you have a second soul that's fighting you to have control of your body?!" Yang somewhat asked excitedly.

"What?! No!" Asarirn surprised to hear that.

"Oh, I thought you have a second soul or something?" Yang misunderstood.

"What makes you think of that?" Asarirn had to ask.

"Didn't you say that after you fought Cardin?" Yang clarified. "You know those black wings you had."

Asarirn sat there as he pondered through his memories. Considering a lot of things happened all at once after Cardin fight. The shattered blade, those shadow wings manifesting, and a projection of an old teacher. Took a bit to remember that bit Yang had mentioned. To Asarirn he remembered Dark Asarirn tried to force his power on him but resisted him.

"That's something different," Asarirn explained vaguely. "Let us say I'm two halves of one person. I'm missing half of myself."

"Like a split personality disorder," Yang still confused about what Asarirn trying to imply.

"Again, nothing like that. I'm someone who is incomplete without my other half"

"I see," Yang sounded as she was still confused. If she tried to press the topic further, she believed he would close himself off. "So, anyhow, do you really think you could of beat Cardin fair and square."

"Definitely," Asarirn straight to the point. "I personally do not like his behavior towards the other students. I could of defeat him with or without my blade."

"That sword must have been important to you," Yang stated.

Asarirn moved his head down. Yang could tell he really cared for that blade. "Yeah," Asarirn nodded his head.

"Do you have any family?" Yang rolled over to the next topic. "Are they from around here?"

"I do, not from around here. I think"

"What do you mean 'you think?'"

"I haven't seen them in a while."

"How long since you last seen them?" Yang wanted to know since she cared about her own family.

Asarirn took a moment before he answered the question. He let out a sigh before answering, "Too long."

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"That's okay."

Asarirn moved his attention towards the sky. Despite the time of night, the shattered moon gave off a natural moonlight. Anything would be touched by the moonlight would give off a dark shadow. Surrounding the shattered moon were the stars. Each of them glistered with some of them forming patterns or the other shined brightly on their own.

"My mother, once told me," Asarirn pointed to the sky. "does not matter how far away we are, we share the same sky. Despite the distance, we are connected by one sky. If I ever felt alone, I look into the sky. Under one sky, we are truly not that far from each other."

Yang looked at Asarirn while he was gazing at the stars. Even with him looking up, his hood was slightly large enough to cover his whole head. Yang gave up trying to see his actual face and looked up at the sky. Upon seeing the stars, Yang never had the chance to be amazed by how bright and beautiful the stars were that night. For once, she could sit there all night long and gaze upon the stars.

"Wow," Yang was amazed to hear something like that from Asarirn. "You have such a caring mother."

After a while of star gazing, Yang's eyelid felt heavy to her. She believed she has been out here for quite a while and she getting tired. Yang's head dropped down as she was drifting off to sleep. Her body leaned over and caught by Asarirn's shoulder while he was still watching the stars.

Asarirn felt something leaded on his shoulders which stopped him from looking at the stars. He turned his head to find out what. He noticed Yang leaned on his shoulder with her eyes closed. Asarirn slowly leaned away from Yang. That only caused Yang leaned further. Asarirn kept leaning away to the point he was laying on the bench. He stretched out one of his legs. Using that leg from before, Asarirn took a big step out from the bench causing him to be free.

Asarirn stood up as he looked back at the bench. The sleeping Yang was the only thing see in his sights. Asarirn's eyes trail along every inch of Yang's body. Starting from Yang's bare slender legs up to the little black shorts. The very shorts fitted around, outlining her privates and shown the outline of her plump bottom. The fitted orange tank top that shows off how large her breast was resting on her chest.

The images in Asarirn's mind that caused Asarirn to fill with lustful thoughts. Asarirn looked at his hand. What is the harm in having a quick feel? He quickly shook the very thought out of his mind. He knew he was not that type of person. Asarirn let out a sigh and glanced over to Yang.

"You should cover yourself more," Asarirn whispered under his breath.

Asarirn walked over to Yang who remained asleep. He kneeled down next to Yang. Using one hand, he flipped Yang over onto his back giving her a piggyback. Asarirn stood up as he adjusted himself. With Yang's arm hung over Asarirn's shoulder and Asarirn held her up by her legs, Asarirn was ready to move.

Asarirn walked a couple of steps and then stopped. There a question popped into his head. Is it now a good time to go back? Asarirn didn't give that much thought before he made his decision. He proceeds to walk in the direction where the dorms lie.

-*RWBY*-

Quite a bit of time passed since Yang left for her late-night breath of fresh air. Ruby was pacing back and forth in the dorm room worrying about her missing older sister. Weiss sat in a chair with arms and leg crossed, annoyed by the fact that Yang was neglecting her studies. And there was Blake. She laid in her bed reading one of her novels she had nearby. Blake did not really care for Yang disappearance. For some reason, Blake knew she would bail on studying.

"I should have known she would skip out on studying," Ruby said as she continued to pace back and forth. "I don't want to be the only one suffering through this. If I have to study, then everyone has to study."

There was a knock on the door that caused Ruby to stop in her tracks. The girls jolted their heads to the door of their room. Ruby gave an angry look as she suspected behind the door was her older sister. She marched to the door as she was ready to lecture Yang. Ruby opened the door.

"I know you skipped on stu-" but Ruby stopped as she saw the person behind the door.

The last person she expected to behind the door was Arranis. On top of that, Arranis was carrying Yang on his back. Ruby noticed Yang appeared to pass out.

"May I come in?" Asarirn asked, trying to pass Ruby's shock.

Ruby quickly moved out of the way, allowing Asarirn to entered the room. Asarirn walked into the room, grabbing the attention of the other two girls. Weiss and Blake hopped off from where they were sitting.

"Is Yang asleep?" Ruby asked with a bit of concern in her voice.

Before Asarirn could answer that question, Yang shot her head up with one fist into the air.

"Surprise!" Yang examined "I was never asleep!"

Asarirn immediately released his grip off Yang's legs without her knowledge. Yang quickly fell to the ground, landing on her rear. She rubbed her rear after the impact. Asarirn only took a step away from Yang. The other three girls have no idea what was going on.

"Hey! What was that for?" Yang asked as she continued to rub her rear.

"That's for lying" was the only thing Asarirn said.

"Fair enough," Yang said as she stood up from the ground.

Ruby dared to ask the question but she wanted to know. "Are you finally back?"

Asarirn turned to Ruby as she had a concerned look on her face. He nodded "I guess I am. I had some stuff to take care off."

Almost immediately Ruby could not hold her excitement. "Hooray!" Ruby jumped in joy. "We got back our fifth member!" Before she could continue on with her little dance, she quickly apologized. "Oh right, I like to say sorry for Blake shooting at you at the warehouse district."

Asarirn froze without giving that away. He quickly remembered Three said something about magic arrows he described during the sealing ritual. But he did not know Blake was the one that shot at him. He decided to play it off without raising any suspicion.

Asarirn looked over at Blake. "That's alright," Asarirn forgave her. "As I said, I had some stuff to take care off. I do apologize for causing any suspicious behavior."

Blake gave a head nod as she acknowledged his forgiveness. Blake walked over to her bed without saying anything. She picked up another book as she sat down and began reading.

Ruby turned back to Asarirn with a smile on her face. "Things happened for a reason. We must learn from our mistakes in order to prepare ourselves for the future. if you haven't broken your vow, then nothing can stop you."

All the other girls looked at her funny since that came out of nowhere.

"Where did you hear that from?" Weiss asked.

Ruby pondered for a bit to find the answer. After a minute, she came out blank. "Honestly, I can't remember where I heard it from, but that's what came to mind. Maybe I heard from a fortune cookie or something."

Asarirn stood there shocked under the hood. For some reason, he could have sworn he had heard that phrase somewhere before. But any attempt to remember only come up blank. However, Asarirn could not help but smile under the hood. Maybe this was the right decision to come back.

"Well I hoped everyone enjoyed our little reunion," Weiss proclaimed. "But I do want my beauty rest and I want to wake up on time for school."

"I agree," Asarirn nodded. "I do miss my bed."

"Well Team RWBY!" Ruby got everyone attention. "It is time for bed!"

Everyone got into their respected beds expect for Ruby. She was the last one because she wanted to be the one to turn off the lights. After seeing everyone in bed, Ruby flipped the light off. She could not help but glance over to Asarirn who already cover himself with a blanket. Ruby smiled before heading to her own bed. After she gone under her blanket, she said one last thing to the group.

"Good night, everyone," Ruby said to the group.

"Good night," all the other girls replied back.

A couple of seconds later.

"Good night," Asarirn replied back.

Ruby smiled as she closed her eyes. Before her mind drifted into sleep, she could only tell herself that she was glad to have Asarirn back on her team. Maybe good things are coming along. After that, the whole Team RWBY, including Asarirn, drifting into a peaceful sleep.

Author's Notes: Finally, a new chapter!. I can't believe it has been over a year since I last posted a chapter. I guess time flies when you have been busy with work and stuff. But I do appreciate everyone who has favoriting and following this story. I have been reading the reviews people have left me and I'm glad people are enjoying this story. On a side note, I'm planning on going back to some of the chapters and fixing them after I reread my story. Nothing to major, just fixing some spelling/missing words. Don't worry, I'm working on the next chapter. Until next time.
