Part Two of the last thing… (I don't remember the name. Whatever.)
The winter child sighed. He had tried to be happy, but he looked dejected and miserable. The other four guardians were standing in a group off to the side, discussing it.
"He's been this way since Gaia took away his voice – he can't even laugh because that's not considered silence."
"He look depressed, no? Toy cheer him up?" North asked, obviously concerned. Bunny shook his head.
"We need to get him, Gaia, and maybe the summer spirit all together. Then we can get everyone to explain and Jack 'll be able to talk again," he said. "Maybe Jack was right – this might have been a terrible idea."
"You were just doing what you both wanted – you guys want kids and Mother Nature can help you get them if her and Jack are on the same page. It'll work itself out, I'm sure!" Tooth tried to reassure. It sounded weak.
"Will it, though?" Aster replied, a sigh resounding in the group.
Sanderson, who had been the only one really talking to Jack anyways, was trying to get their attention.
He was getting ignore.
"I sure it work!" North boomed. His optimism, while sometimes irritating, was comforting. "Jack will talk soon, because we talk to Gaia soon! She is reasonable and work with us when she can, though she be unpredictable."
"You've literally spoken English for as long as I've known you, and I know you can speak it so much better than you have been, Nick, what the hell?" Bunny interjected. Sanderson raised up in front of his face, pointed to where Jack was sitting.
Or, would have been sitting, if he were to have stayed put. Instead, the only trace of Jack was an open window and snow pouring into the room due to the storm outside.
"Well then, this is going to be… fun," Tooth said, smiling.
Line break
Jack entered the room, his grip on his staff especially tight as he walked into the palace of Mother Nature. When he finally approached the throne, he knelt down on one knee, lowering his head and staff as a sign of respect.
She smiled smugly.
"Rise and you may speak," her voice boomed. Jack rose slowly, looking at her feet, as was tradition – unless invited to the Palace of Gaia or directly commanded otherwise, one did not look at Mother Nature's face.
"I am Jackson Overland Frost. In our first and previous meeting, I behaved in an uncalled for manner, lacking kindness where it was shown. I have come to apologize to you, my queen, and offer you my services as the Winter King," he said. He bowed at the waist about 45 degrees, as was customary. "There is only one thing that I ask in return."
"You have the audacity to request something after an apology such as this? It must be something very important to you, or you would not request it," she reprimanded. Jack had to actively force himself to not roll his eyes.
"I wholeheartedly apologize, but I had ulterior reasons for attending your feast. You see, I did not wish to know you because the first things that I heard of you were of you worse feats. I realize now that giving you a chance should have been the first thing that I did, for that was very hypocritical of me," Jack began. "The reason that I went to your face, however, had nothing to do with accepting you as my Queen. It was because of my mate. He wanted me to not only meet his mother figure on this planet, but he wanted your blessing and to request children. You see, as not only two males, but two different species – one of which would be extinct without magical interference – we are unable to create children of our own accord. We have been mater for over 50 years, and we were courting for 50 years prior to that."
The Queen was silent for a moment.
"Homosexuality is a sin."
Sorry! I not only didn't update for forever, but I ended it short and very badly, but I have a fabulous plan for Mother Nature. You'll come to love her I swear… if you're okay with homophobia I guess maybe, you'll see.
