Chapter 3

One year has passed since he came to the past, since he became the father Minato longed for and deserved, and since he became the First Sennin. Fox Sennin to be exact. And it had been one amazing year. He had found some really good friends. He even met his own mother in his time, genin now. Of course it was hard seeing his mother again, but he was glad she was okay and alive.

Down the road, you could see two people walking alongside eachother. Both were blonde. One tall and one... not so tall. This, was Naruto and Minato on their way to the Academy. Today was a very special day for Minato. Today was the graduation day. Today was the day he would be a ninja. A ninja going out on missions, just like his dad! Minato looked upon his father.

Naruto had grown a little bit more over the year. He was a little bit taler than before. His hair was the same, but he has gotten bangs, not too long, but so they reached his chin. His shinobi atire hadn't changed that much either, except insted of sleeveless shirt on both sides, it was long on his right and short on his left, and instead of red, it was black. On the arm that was sleeveless, he wore bandages.

Minato on the other hand has changed the most out of our favourite blondes. He has hanged his entire shinobi atire with black ANBU styled pants with bandages on his ankels with black shinobi sandals, and he now had a high-collar grey jersey with dark grey stripes down the arms. His hair consisted two bangs that reached his chin, just like his dad.

As Naruto and Minato walked down the road, with Naruto holding his sons hand, you could see people pointing and whispering how look-alike Minato were his father.

Naruto looked down at his son. He was proud. Of course, it had been weird being the father of his own father, but he just couldn't let his father, in his time, grow up all alone. So in the beginning, it war difficult to be a father, as Naruto had never been one, but after a while, he got the hang of it, and he couldn't be happier.

They were now at the entrance of the Academy playground. Minato was starting to get a little nervous, and Naruto could feel it. He knelt down in front of his son, placed a hand on his head and smiled.

"Don't worry son. I know you'll be doing just fine. Just know that I'm proud of you no matter what, okay?" Naruto said as he looked at his son. Minato smiled and felt warmth at his fathers words. He smiled back and gave his father a hug.

"Thanks dad. I'll make you proud!" He said. Naruto chuckled softly and hugged his son closer to him.

"I'm proud of you all the time, because you are who you are. I believe in you, son." Naruto whispered into his ears. He could still remember those words his own father had said to him when he was close to losing it when Pain attacked Konoha. He smiled to himself as the roles had now changed, and Naruot was now saying them to his son, father in his time. That was his past. This is his future. His son is his future.

With a final squeeze, he stood up and rufled his sons hair, making him grumple and try to fix it, to no use.

"Good luck, Minato" Naruto said as Minato began walking towards the Academy.

"Thanks dad!" Minato shouted back as he began running so he wouldn't be late. Naruto smiled and began walking away. He had a meeting with the Hokage.

Hiruzen sat in his chair in his office, thinking back to when he first met Naruto. The young man had changed quite a few things in the village. He helped everywere he saw the need, and he was respected highly amongst the other ninjas. On missions, he was immediatly made the captain, as he was the strongest out of those on the mission. Not that he complained. Naruto had an aura that made everyone want to follow him.

Hiruzen smiled to himself. That's what he liked with Naruto. He could feel the power coming from Naruto, but he didn't brag about it. He made others feel safe around him. His aura comforts people.

Speaking of Naruto, said man was knocking on the door, braking the Hokage out of his train of thoughts.

"Enter" Hiruzen said. Naruto entered and stood before the Hokage with his hands behind his back, ready for comands.

"You called, Hokage-sama?" Naruto asked. He liked the Hokage. Just because he had very much power, he didn't send Naruto on mission that might kill him. Hiruzen smiled and nodded.

"Yes, Naruto. I have a mission for you" he said. He opened his drawer and took out an A-class mission, looked it over and gave it to Naruto. Naruto took it and read it over. He rolled the scroll and put it in his pocked and looked at the hokage again.

"As you can see, we live in a time were war could be right around the corner, and what I would like you to do, is to give each Nation and village our peace treaty." Hiruzen said. "It may be hard, but I believe you can do it. After all, it was you who got all the other nations in your time to work together, am I right?" He chuckled. Naruto chuckled with him and nodded.

"Hai, Hokage-Sama. That's right. I can do this. Who will I travel with?" Naruto asked.

"No one. This is a solo mission. I believe you can do this alone?" Hiruzen asked. Naruto nodded. Hiruzen smiled.

"Then you are to leave tomorrow night. Maybe you can take young Minato with you? It is, after all, his graduation day, and isn't that the best present to have to go on an A-class mission with his father? I believe in Minato as I believe in you. Maybe you can train him along the way?" Hiruzen said. Naruto miled and nodded. He bowed to the hokage.

"Thank you, Hokage-sama. That would be great." Naruto said.

"Then you are dismissed. Say congratulations to Minato from me." Hiruzen winked. Naruto nodded and bowed before he left. One thought running trough his mind. 'How could he know Minato passed?' Naruto shook his head.

'Old man, you never cease to amaze me.' He thought to himself. He then remembered that he had to ask the Hokage about something. He turned around and knocked again.

Naruto entered the Academy grounds to find many parents congratulating their kids. He looked for Minato, and found him with his friends, Mikoto Uchiha, Umino Matsumo, Kushina Uzumaki and Hanjuro Matsumo, the elder brother of Umino Matsumo by a few months. He smiled and walked towards the group.

"Ohayo, Minato, Mikoto, Kushina, Umino and Matsu. Congratulations becoming genins!" Naruto said. Minato smiled and gave his father a hug. Mikoto and the rest of his friends thanked him.

"Ohayo dad! I'm finally a genin!" Minato said proudly. Matsu and Umino stared wide eyed at Naruto. He was said to be one of the strongest in the village. And this man was Minatos father. He could match the power with the Hokage! No wonder enemies were afraid of him. Naruto chuckled and hugged his son back.

"I told you you could do it. I believed in you," Naruto said. Kushina and Mikoto smiled at the scene.

"Ohayo Naruto-san! What have you been doing today?" Kushina asked while tilting her head to the side.

She looked up to Naruto because he was so different from others in the village. His aura was comforting. And he never said anything bad about her hair. He said it was beautiful and that he liked it. It reminded him of his friend that had the same hair collor. It warmed Kushinas hearth.

Naruto smiled and ruffled her hair, making her grumble a little bit.

"I've been training, doing some erands and visiting Hokage-sama. I have a mission tomorrow," Naruto said. That got Minato's attention.

"A mission? Really?" Minato asked. Both happy and sad. Happy his father is doing mission, but sad that his father was going away from the village. Naruto looked at his son and smiled.

"Hai. But I'm not going alone," Naruto said. Minato tilted his head to the side.

"Who are you going with?" Minato asked.

He didn't get it. His father was strong enought to go alone. He didn't need anyone else. Of course if it is a hard mission, it could be great to have a little help. Naruto chuckled and shook his head.

"I'll tell you later," he winked before taking his hand. They waved goodbye to the rest, and left to og home and celabrate.

Minato tugged his fathers hand, and looked up at him. Naruto looked down at his son. He took the hint, and lifted his son on his shoulders. Even though Minato was a genin now, a grown up in the eyes of the ninjas, he still liked being on his fathers shoulders. Minato smiled and looked down at his father. Naruto chuckled softly to himself and looked up at his son.

"How has your day been, Minato?" Naruto asked. Minato looked forward and noticed that the sun was going down.

"It's been great. I'm anctually the Rokkie of the year! I beat Hanjuro, but we are still best friends," Minato said. Naruto smiled.

"That's great, Minato! And it's great that you and Hanjuro are still best friends, because that shows that you have an unbreakable bond," Naruto said. Minato smiled and nodded. He looked up at saw their house.

At dinner time, Minato remembered that his father promised to tell him who he would take with him on his mission tomorrow.

"Dad? You said you would tell me later who you would take with you on the mission you are going to tomorrow," Minato said. Naruto blinked for a second, and nodded once he remebered.

"That's right, Minato. I did tell you that," Naruto said. Naruto leaned forward on the table, on his underarms, and looked into his sons eyes.

"The mission I'm going to tomorrow is a very special one, nd the person I'm taking with me is also very special. As you know, we live in a dangerous time, were war could be right around the corner, right?" Seeing Minato nod, Naruto continued," My mission is to travel around the nations to give each village our peace treaty." Minato stared at his father with wide eyes.

"Wow," Minato whispered. Naruto chuckled and nodded.

"Indeed. Wow. As for the person I'm taking with me, is no other than... you." Naruto finished. Minato was in awe.

"M-me?" Minato asked.

"Hai. And along the way, I'm going to train you, how about that? What do you say? You want to come with me?" Naruto asked, already knowing the answer.

"Are you kidding? Of course I want to come! Thank you, Dad!" Minato said excitedly. He was so excited. He was going to travel around the nations to bring peace, with his father! He jumped off his chair and ran towards his father to give him a hug. Naruto lifted him up and put him on his lap, so that it would be easier to give his son a hug.

"That's good. No problem, buddy. This could be our time to bond some more, to have more father-son time," Naruto said. Minato nodded against his cheast. Minato lifted his head from the hug, and looked at his father in confusion.

"But what about my team? When will i get my team? Won't that be in two days?" Minato asked. Naruto nodded.

"It was Hokage-sama who said you could come with me, so I bet he has an idea. We can og and talk to him tomorrow? Since you don't have school tomorrow?" Naruto said. Minato nodded. He was beginning to feel tired. He yawned, and Naruto took the hint. It was now time for bed.

After sending Minato upstair to brush his teeth and to change to his nightwear, Naruto began cleaning off the table. Naruto began to think back to when he first got here, how weird everything was and different from his time. How weird it was to be the father to his own father. But at the same time, it felt good. It was like it was ment to be.

Naruto could remember having dreams like this, where he met a young boy with blonde hair and blue eyes, just like him, but he just thought it was him as a kid, but now that he thought about it, the boy was Minato all the time. There are some memories that are a bit cloudy, and he wish he could remember. 'It will come in time,' Naruto thought to himself. He was brought out of his train of thought at his sons voice.

"Dad?" Minato said. Naruto turned around and lokked at his son.

"Hai, Minato?" Naruto answered. Minato fidgetet a bit, before he looked at Naruto again.

"Can you tell me a story?" Minato asked nervously. Naruto smiled.

"Of course, son," Naruto answered. "I'll be up in a sec," he continued. Minato smiled and ran up the stairs to his bedroom to wait for his father.

Just as promised, Naruto came up after a few minutes, and entered the room. He took a chair and sat it beside the bed.

"What do you want to hear?" Naruto asked. Minato thought for a second, before he smiled.

"Can you tell me about your team when you were a genin?" Minato asked. Naruto was a bit taken aback since it's been so long since he was a genin, but he nodded and smiled.

"Sure, you ready?" Naruto said. Minato nodded

"Okay, here goes. There once was a Pink haired kunoichi, a black haired avenger and a yellow haired knucklehead. This was Team 7, the best team that ever excisted..." Naruto began as he told his son about all the missions he and his team had gotten. About all the good times and the bad times.

"… And then we became the unbreakable team," Naruto finished. He heard light snoring, and noticed his son had fallen asleep. He smiled softly and pulled the blankets up so that it covered his sons whole body. He kissed his forehead and whispered.

"Good night, son. I love you," and left the room, never noticing the small smile that grew and the small whisper back.

"I love you too, dad," Minato whispered back as he turned to his side.

Morning quickly came, to fast for Minatos liking, but then he remebered that today was a free-from-school-day. He decided to get up to have breakfast with his dad, and go visit the hokage. He stood up from his bed, and walked to the bathroom to get ready.

Downstairs, Naruto was also awake. He was making breakfast for both him and Minato.

Speaking of his son, he could hear the small muffled sound of feet coming down the stairs. Looking towards the door, he could see a very tired looking Minato making his way toward the table. Once he found his seat, his head slumped against the table, making Naruto laugh.

"Good morning, buddy. Did you sleep well?" Naruto asked. Minato lifted his head from the table to look at his dad, and smiled.

"Hai, I did," he answered. Naruto walked toward Minato with his plate with eggs and bacon. He ruffled his sons head, making the hair Minato tried but failed to even out, and making Minato grumble half-heartedly. He said his thanks, and began eating.

"That's good," Naruto said. He began eating too. Once they were done, Naruto cleaned the table while Minato went to get ready.

"We leave in five minutes, buddy," Naruto called up the stairs. Hearing the OK from Minato, he went to get his things. As they walked out of the house, they could see the sun a little bit above the mountains, making the sky orange. A beautiful sight.

As they walked down the road towards Hokage Tower, the people who were up and working already, waved to the two Namikazes. They waved back, Minato a bit more excitedly. Minato wore his headband proudly, and Naruto couldn't be more proud of him. He ran a hand trough his own hair and smiled. There were still something that bothered him. It felt as if he had been here before. Before he even went to the past. He would need to speak with the Hokage about it.

As they finally made ith to the Tower, they walked in, and was greeted by the people walking and working there. They greeted them back and made their way up the stairs.

Hiruzen heard knocking and called 'Enter'. As he did, both Namikazes came into his office.

"Good morning, Hokage-sama," Both Namikazes said. Hiruzen motioned them to sit down. As they were seated, Minato raised his hand. Hiruzen chuckled and motioned him to speak.

"Hokage-sama, I'm going with my father on a mission, but when will i get to know who is on my team? I wont be home for that," Minato said. Hiruzen smiled and nodded.

"I know that, and that's why you get to know your team now," Hiruzen said. He took out a file and handed it over to Minato. Minato, though confused, opened it and stared at the file. He looked at the Hokage, looked at the file again, looked up at the Hokage again withthe biggest smile he could do, then back at the file, before handing the file to his father. Naruto, confused, opened the file, before a smile broke out on his face. Apperiantly, the Hokage had talked with the council as he said he would.

'Team 7

Jounin-Sensei: Namikaze Naruto

Team:

Namikaze Minato

Uchiha Mikoto

Matsumo Hanjuro'

*Flashback*

"I forgot to ask you about something, " Naruto said as he entered the office again.

"What about?", Hiruzen said. Naruto sat down and looked seriously at the Hokage.

"I want to become a Jonin-sensei, and I want to be Minato's Sensei. I have a feeling that something is going to happen when he is on mission, and I mean something really bad. I can feel it in my gut, and I cant let him get hurt," Naruto said, determination clear in his eyes. Hiruzen looked thoughtful for a second, before he turned his chair so he was looking out the window.

"You are aware that Minato will get hurt at least once on his missions, that's the life of a Shinobi, right?" Hiruzen said after a few minutes.

"Hai. I am, Hokage-sama," Naruto answered. "But if I can stop it, I will. He's my son, and I cant stand it if my son is hurt. I can't," Naruto finished. He heard Hiruzen sigh. Hiruzen turned around again and looked at Naruto seriously.

"I will talk with the council. I can't promise anything, but I will try. Is that okay?" Hiruzen said. Naruto nodded. He stood and bowed to the Hokage.

"Hai, it is. Thank you, Hokage-sama," Naruto said before he left the office again. Once he left, Hiruzen let out a sigh.

'Naruto, my boy, you are one fine young man,' he thought to himself, before he went on with the work every kage hates – Paperwork.

*End flashback*

'Even when I'm back in time, I'm in team seven,' Naruto thought to himself. He handed the file back to the Hokage and looked at Minato.

"What do you think son? Happy with your team?" Naruto asked. Minato nodded excitedly.

"Hai! And You are my sensei! Even better!" Minato answered. Both elder men chuckled. Naruto stood up and bowed to the Hokage.

"Thank you, Hokage-Sama," he said. He motioned for his son to follow him. Minato nodded and stood up before turning towards the Hokage. He bowed low and thanked him. He then followed his father out of the office and towards their home.

Later that evening, Naruto and Minato were packing their bags and getting ready to leave on Minato's first mission.

"Hey, dad?" Minato said.

"Hai, Minato?" Naruto answered as he entered Minato's room.

"How long will we be gone?" Minato asked. Naruto thought for a minute.

"A few weeks perhaps, depends on how qiuckly we can do the mission. Remember, we will use a lot of the time to travel," Naruto answered. Minato nodded and continued packing.

Soon, they were at the gate ready to depart. Naruto turned to his mini-self.

"Ready to go, son?" He asked. Minato looked at his father, determination clear in his eyes.

"Hai. Ready as I'll ever be," Minato answered. Naruto nodded before he turned his head forward again.

"Let's go," He said before they began running towards the forest, ready to bring peace over the world But what they don't know, is that danger roams just around the corner.

That's it for now, guys! Hope you like it! Please review and give me some tips to something I can to differently!
