Hi guys! Ok, so I know it's been forever since I've updated...well, anything really, but life has just gotten crazy these past months. I've been really doc-blocked recently, and only now has inspiration (aka, me quitting being lazy) struck, and I felt I should update SOMETHING. So here we are. I hope you guys like it! JSYK, I don't know if I'll get around to this one again for a while, after this Darkness in the Jedi Order is next to be updated, but like I said, I've been doc-blocked, writers block, ect., so I am literally committing an hour to trying to update this and putting the first things I think up onto paper. Bare with me, my fellow authors, for we are united! :) Enjoy!
It had been about a week now. Ahsoka had been so stunned when she first saw it, she was convinced she was seeing things. It was impossible, there was no way. But after having time to think about it, she realized how horribly things actually made sense. She knew the two were close; they had been friends since childhood, and practically joined in the hip when they were younger. But still... the only thing that didn't add up was Anakin. It didn't make sense...Anakin had never lied to her. Anakin wouldn't lie to her. Or would he? All of these thoughts had been swimming around the girls head since she saw it. She had taken the dress back to the temple with her, and told Obi-wan she wasn't home, then gone to her quarters. She almost wished she had something else to think about; at least, something that didn't hurt to think about. Ahsoka hated the idea that her master had lied to her, but the way things looked, that's exactly what he had done. He had flat out lied, and in her eyes was worse than breaking the Jedi code.
The Padawan stood up, stretching her sore muscles. She had had a fitful sleep last night, and felt like her spine was in the shape of a pretzel. As she prepared herself for the day, she heard a noise she hadn't heard in what seemed like a long time. The sound of her master's door opening and closing. She was kind of surprised, after seeing the...incident, she hadn't seen her master since. She exited her room and knocked on his door.
"Come in!" She hit the button, and saw her master over in the corner of his room, unpacking a backpack of clothes into his dresser. "Hey Snips, what's up?"
"I..uh...haven't seen you in a while," she said, looking at the floor. He hadn't noticed, he was busy unpacking his belongings. "Where'd you go?" Without looking up, he answered in a flat tone.
"Kashyyyk. Master Luminara needed my help." She shuffled her feet, slightly hoping her master would look at her instead of being so busy unpacking.
"Oh. You didn't tell me, so I just... didn't know. Just wondering. Sorry to bother you, master." Before he could respond, she quickly bowed and left the room. As the door slid closed behind her, two tears had already dripped onto her face. She entered her own quarters, and headed straight to the fresher. She turned on the faucet in the shower, removing her clothing and stepping in before a sob managed to escape. She placed a hand against the wall, and let herself cry for a couple of minutes. It wasn't the mission that upset her, it was the fact that he didn't tell her. She would have understood if he couldn't tell her. Top secret, lack of communication, ect., but it was that it didn't even cross his mind. In less than two minutes, he had already proved her point. She always had his feelings and concerns in mind, but he hadn't paid her a second thought. If it had only been top secret, or a lack of communications, she wouldn't be so upset, but she doubted it was any of those. He simply hadn't thought of it, which meant that he didn't care as much about her as she did about him. He hadn't even said hello when he returned, just went straight to unpacking.
She felt even more betrayed by the minute. She looked up to him, idolized him, and depended on him for virtually everything. He probably has no idea how much it even hurt you, but I doubt he really cares. A snarky, sarcastic voice in the back of her mind told her. Not the only thing he's "failed to mention". I even bet he told Padme about the mission, and went to see her as soon as he got back. She desperately wished her own negative commenting would stop, but she was probably right. It was obvious, he cares more about Padme then he does about her.
After taking a couple of deep breaths and letting the tears stop, she finally shut the shower off and stepped out, wrapping herself in a towel. She felt a bit better, letting out all of those negative thoughts. She wasn't too good at bottling up her emotions as other Jedi were. If she didn't let them out, the bottle would break and let them all out at once.
Hi guys! Really short, I know, I'm sorry, but I think that's as good as I can do for now. Bye bye!
