Ash and Fire
The first dragon was not the last,
The one that crawled out from the earth.
And soon more of its foul kind followed,
And misery they birthed.
…
City after city burned,
It happened all the same.
Region after region fell,
Consumed in dragon flame.
…
I saw the fear in people's eyes,
Terror in what they said.
I saw whole countries turned to ash,
I saw the fires spread.
…
I saw civilization come to rubble,
I saw a ruined world.
I saw people turn to desperation,
No nation's flag unfurled.
…
And thus I see a darker world,
A world of ash and flame,
A world where dragons rule the skies,
A world of fire's reign.
