I'll try to make chapters longer btw. My minimum was a thousand words buuuut... that still feels too short to me..

"What the heck!?" Sonic thought frantically. His heart beating harder in his chest. The teen's hands were against the other's chest, where his head was currently lying. The king had his arms around his torso and the cherry on top of the cake? Their legs were intertwined together under the dark covers.

The hunter calmed his breaths and tried to gently ease his way out of the other's grip, which resulted in a tighter hold.

"No, no, no..." Sonic whispered. He sighed and layed quietly in thought. "Do I really want to wake him up..?"

Just then the teen's stomach began growl, he hadn't eaten since yesterday morning before he was taken. A scary thought entered his mind then, what would it be like not being able to eat his favorite foods? Go out into sunlight? He would miss sitting down at the table with all of his friends eating a delicious home cooked meal and laughing with everyone. The possibility made him want to cry..

Sonic was snapped out of his thoughts when the other groaned and rolled over, releasing him from his grasp. Taking this opportunity the hunter quickly moved away and sat up on the edge of the bed. That's one problem solved. Now, what time of day is it? He got up and moved to a window on the other side of the room. It was covered by a thick curtain to block sunlight. Moving slightly revealed it to be morning, perhaps eleven? So he was practically cuddling with Shadow for what must have been hours at that point. Great..

A louder grumble was sounding from his gut now, this one painful. He was starving. The blue haired teen's eyes were drawn to the dresser top, a note along with a bell was neatly with his name on it.

"Dear Sonic,

If you are reading this then you must have awoken and questioning what to do now. Ring the bell and my assistant, Silver will guide you. I will awaken when the moon rises this evening so feel free to wander as you please with, Silver. He will also take care of your need for food and drink. You are my guest.

-Shadow"

Guest, huh? Sonic certainly didn't feel like a guest. He felt more like a puppet on a string and Shadow was the puppeteer. As much as he would gladly argue against being a guest but right now his stomach was yelling at him to feed it.

Sonic rang the bell, being careful not to wake the sleeping vampire. Suddenly there was a light knock on the door and a white haired male opened it.

"You must be, Sonic! I'm Silver, nice to meet you!" Silver stuck out his hand and smiled. Sonic hesitantly shook the others hand when he noticed the clearly visible fangs in that smile.

"..Nice to meet you, too." He said cautiously.

"Is there anything you need?" Silver asked. "King Shadow told me personally to help you with anything you need. "

"Thanks, but right now all I need is something to eat." Sonic said placing a hand over his stomach.

"Of course, follow me." Silver lead the way to what looked a massive mess hall. So even vampires sat down and enjoyed a meal together. However, the happy image in Sonic's head was quickly twisted to monsters ravenously feasting upon human limbs and blood. It almost made him lose his appetite.. Almost. However the table cloth was surprisingly clean so Sonic supposed they must have some sort of manners..

Silver pulled up a chair for Sonic and went to what seemed to be a kitchen to the side. Several minutes later Silver came back with what seemed like a hot bowl of oatmeal and a glass of water. Sonic looked at it skeptically for a minute then looked to Silver.

"Where'd you get this?" He asked.

"Oh! I bought the necessary ingredients in the nearby town and got clean water from the river." The assistant replied.

A vampire buying food? Now Sonic's heard everything. Before he could dissect further another painful pang hit his stomach. He needed to eat first and ask questions later.

After shoving a spoonful in his mouth he couldn't believe how good it tasted! For someone that can't taste it Silver did good cooking it. The bowl and glass were empty in minutes. Sonic sighed out his contentment.

"Thanks, that was really good!"

"No problem, just doing my job. I don't see how you mortals can stomach that stuff though, it tastes disgusting to me.." Silver said.

"Heh, I could say the same to you about blood."

Silver laughed and Sonic thought he could make out the faintest of "Not for long."

He hoped he heard wrong and that he imagined the cheery atmosphere draining away was in his head.

"S-so um.. where is everybody?" Sonic asked.

"It's daylight so I imagine sleeping in their rooms."

"Oh.. of course." Sonic said.

From their Silver lead Sonic on a proper tour of the castle. Time flew by and before he knew it the white haired vampire was leading him back to Shadow's quarters.

"His majesty, requested to spend time with you tonight so I'm afraid that this is where our time ends." Silver said opening the bedroom door.

"Oh ok, thanks, Silver."

The assistant smiled and closed the door behind him.

Sonic sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. He learned a lot about vampire culture today. It seems that everyone has given up on his friends saving him but him and his faith is still wavering..

He shook his head to rid himself of that thought. The room slowly began to grow darker.

"It must be nightfall..."

His suspicions were proven correct when he felt the bed shift behind him and felt arms wrap around him.

"Good night, I trust, Silver took care of you?" The king asked.

"Y-yeah.. thanks for that.."

Shadow grasped his wrist and placed a silver chained bracelet around it. The sole charm was a highly detailed red rose that looked to good to be fake.

"What's this for?" Sonic said examining the bracelet.

"A gift." Shadow replied.

The king let go of the hunter and moved to sit beside him.

"Hey, Shadow?"

"Yes?"

"Are you really sorry? For my parents?" Sonic said.

"Of course...wait. What were their names?"

"Huh? Um, Aleena and Jules...why?"

The king quickly got up and took the others hand.

"Come with me!"

Shadow ran through the halls of the castle slowly coming back to life with the rising moon, Sonic following behind.

After reaching a certain door three floors up, the king told Sonic to close his eyes. Once that was done the vampire knocked lightly on the door.

"Who's there?" A female voice called out.

"King Shadow, I have something very important for you. " The door quickly opened and Shadow lead the hunter into the room. "Open your eyes."

Sonic did as instructed and they widened at the sight in front of him. A young woman with long purple hair wearing a white dress with gold accents. Next to her was a man with blue hair to rival the teen except he had a tuft of brown in his bangs. He wore a red vest and white trousers.

"Mo-mom..? Dad..?" Sonic asked with tears in his eyes.

Immediately the two adults wrapped their arms around the teen and babbled on about how they missed him and how they loved him and asking how Scourge was.

"I love you too.. h-how are you here though..? I thought you died.."

"I thought we were dead too.." Aleena said. "But when we woke up we were here and this young woman named Rouge just said 'welcome to the family'."

"It was hard adapting at first but we managed.." Jules added.

"Never mind about us! How are you here?"Sonic's mother asked.

"I... I got myself in way over my head but it's ok now.." Sonic glanced over to Shadow. "Um, I'll be back in a minute." The teen got out of his parents grasp and took the vampire king out of the room and shut the door.

"Shadow..."

"Y-" Before the king could finish his word the blue haired teen crashed their lips together. After what felt like eternity Sonic pulled away hugged the king tightly.

"I want you to turn me.."

If it wasn't obvious I'm totally inspired by Beauty and the Beast and Tokyo Ghoul right now lol.

Btw I'm starting my own YouTube channel soon or well revamping my channel really. I'll be doing speed paints, story times, let's plays and maybe some animatics ^^ The channel name is Blue Star Nights if anyone is interested. ^^
