Bella's POV

"Jake! Jacob Black no! Don't you dare!"

A blurry figure swam up behind me and two strong bronzed arms lifted me out of the water by the waist. Jake stood to his full height, I continued to squeal and grasped his shoulders, he then proceeded to dunk me into the water. All I could see and hear was a mix of water, body parts, and distorted laughter. Standing up gasping for air, I pushed my hair out of my face and squeegeed water away from my eyes. Jacob waded over towards me and pulled me closer to him.

"I'm sorry Bells, I just couldn't resist. You were completely zoned out staring at the sea, and I was calling your name. I had to get your attention somehow, I was getting lonely laying out in the sun by myself."

We practically had the resort beach to ourselves that was only a few steps from our hotel room. There were other people here, but not many. One other couple was present and they were occupied themselves. Jake kissed the corner of my mouth, and although it was innocent, it sent a spark to all the right places. I don't think I could be mad at him even if I wanted to be. Turning around to face Jake I raised my hands to clasp behind his neck. Now I could really see how beautiful this man is in just swim trunks and water glistening all over his sculpted body. It almost seemed ridiculous that someone as gorgeous as him would date someone like me, but not completely. The way Jake looked at me proved that he was just as awed by me as I was him.

"So I made reservations for dinner tonight. Tomorrow I thought we could rent a Jeep and explore the island some, and later that night we're going on the Bioluminescent Bay Tour. Think you can handle kayaking?"

"Kayaking sounds great, I haven't done it since I was a kid in summer camp. I'm guessing the dress you packed for me was for dinner?"

Jacob's sexy smirk answered for him.

"I know you don't always like to wear dresses, but I figured this was a special occasion."

We were wading deeper out into the water. It was so refreshing under the hot sun, I hoped I'd get some sort of tan, but that's wishful thinking. I was relieved to know that Jacob had packed plenty of sunscreen and even a bottle of Aloe Vera. He on the other hand was already tanning beautifully, it wasn't fair.

The night air was perfect, warm with a cool breeze coming off the water, and the sound of the waves gently crashing against the beach. The moon reflected bright off the water, fairy lights hanging from the trees lined the outdoor patio and square tables were set nicely with individual candles. Relaxing music floated through the air from hidden speakers setting the mood even more.

"Do you like it?" Jacob pulled out a chair for me, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to my temple. He took the seat to my left of the square table, his back to the inside, so we both had a view of the beach.

Jacob looked delicious in a plaid dress shirt, oxblood and white, that fit him just right with the buttons at his neck undone, and black jeans that showed off his wonderfully firm ass. In other words, mouthwatering. Jacob cleaned up nice and it was fun to see him dressed up for once.

"I love it, the atmosphere is so romantic. I wasn't expecting this." I couldn't stop smiling.

The waiter brought out menus and took our drink orders, then promptly left us alone.

"You look really good in the dress." I could tell he was already undressing me in his mind, and I didn't mind one bit.

Since I didn't do my own packing, Jake managed to pick a dress I actually wore frequently. A black fit-and-flare dress with a high scoop neckline, strappy detailing in the back, and illusion striped skirt. It was the little black dress with something extra. And the way Jacob stared at me all night made me feel confident that I looked great. Since I knew we'd be sitting outside I decided to put my hair in a sleek high bun, to keep it out of my face and food. I'd kept my makeup minimal with a generous amount of mascara, a light layer of tinted moisturizer to cover the redness of beginning stages of sunburn, and opted for a lip balm that gave my lips a bit of a darker tint. I didn't bother with perfume because I know with Jacob's heightened senses it'd be overbearing.

The waiter returned with our drinks and took our order for the night. Conversation between Jake and I flowed easily, comfortably, we genuinely laughed about things, talked about future plans, the Pack, I'd never been on a better date before. Butterflies were stirring in my stomach, even though we'd known each other all our lives and had seen each other in compromising positions, it felt like we were just getting to know each other.

Our food arrived sometime after and we both were visibly impressed by the presentation of the food. Unable to wait any longer we both dug in, chatting intermittently between bites. We took our time eating, and when the waiter came to check on us a second time he asked if we wanted dessert, but Jacob declined before I could say anything. In fact, he asked the waiter for our bill instead, and he quickly left to retrieve our tab.

"Hey I wanted to order something sweet!"

A devious smirk spread across his handsome face, "I've got dessert covered." And he winked at me.

Immediately my core began to pulse from the heated look he threw my way just as the waiter returned with our bill. Jacob quickly dished out cash and the tip, too anxious to wait for his credit card, and we quickly walked back to our room, giggling and whispering to each other like lovers do. When Jacob led us to the beach in front of our hotel room I wondered what he was up to.

"Jake?" holding my hand he guided me to a corner of the beach tucked under palm trees.

With wide eyes and a gasp I was surprised by what I saw.

"Okay now I know you like it." He chuckled.

In front of us, a large blanket had been laid out and in the middle a tray of delectable treats with small bowls containing different dips, I guessed chocolate and yogurt. We could still hear the sultry music floating through the night air from the restaurant and there was enough light from the moon and nearby fairy lights to illuminate the space perfectly. Jacob pulled me out of my momentary daze leading us to our romantic setup.

"I wanted to do something special for you. I know it's not the fanciest-"

"Don't. It's absolutely perfect Jake." I was amazed. Was I really this lucky?

Beaming Jacob started explaining what everything was and handed me a glass.

"Champagne?" I looked a Jake with a raised brow.

"Non-alcoholic, don't worry." With a nod of approval I took a sip. He was racking up the brownie points remembering I didn't like to drink.

Unable to resist any longer I dove into the desserts. I took a strawberry and dipped it into the chocolate fondant with excitement and savored the wonderful taste, my eyes nearly rolled to the back of my head. I actually moaned at how good it was. My bliss was interrupted by a snorty chuckle.

"What's so funny?"

"I just never heard anyone moan while they ate something. I'm not sure if it's sexy or funny. Probably both." The tone in his voice dropped to something sensual and he suddenly leaned in to kiss me. For the second time tonight I moaned at how good something tasted, I could feel him smile as he pulled away. "You had some chocolate on your lip. I thought I'd get it for you."

Smiling at the cliché, "You don't ever need an excuse to kiss me Jacob Black."

Feeling a surge of confidence I swung a leg over him, settling into a straddling position, and pushing the behemoth down on his back. Luckily the move was easy since my dress rode up to my waist. Surprise was plastered on his face and his large hands settled on my waist. With a sly smile I leaned in to kiss him and before I knew it Jake had pulled a wrestling move on me, flipping us over so that I was the one now on my back.

"Thank you Jacob. For this amazing trip. For giving me another chance. For everything." His face gradually blurring, so I couldn't gauge his reaction to what I was saying. A single finger gently swiped under my eyes.

"And thank you, for finally coming back to me."

That was all that needed to be said in the moment. Everything felt right for once, and neither of us wanted to ruin it, even if just for a night.
