"What have you done!?" Natsu watched as Lucy's body fell down on the ground, lifeless."You killed her!"Screaming over the ocean, anger flowing trough him. He stood there with eyes wide, staring at her, begging that she would wake up. "NO!" Not able to control the tears falling from his eyes. "No.. no. This can't be."

"This was a necessary measures." Full of rage, blackened the light in he's eyes, climbing up towards Zeref.

"You took away Lucy's future!" He misplaced his foot, falling back to where he started, running right back up the rife again. It was a long way up, but Natsu didn't care, nothing mattered. He had nothing more to lose. There was a hole in he's heart. "You will pay for this."Saying it between clenched teeth.

"Shoe yourself worthy, avenge her death." Feeling the fire burn inside him, climbed Natsu faster and faster to the top. When he finally placed that bruised and bloody hand at the top, where the monster Zeref were waiting for him. Then he laid eyes on the blond beauty, lying on the ground. Her pale skin and the scales from her tale were no longer glistening in the sun. Stumbling forwards to her body, falling to his knees.

"This is your fault. If you had not been so weak, she would be alive." Not even looking at the male, standing in front of him. With a hesitating hand, Natsu reached out to touch Lucy's blonde hair, stroking his fingertips across it. Gently he lifted her head on to his lap. Brushing away the few hair of strands, covering her face.

"I am so sorry Lucy. I am sorry that I could not protect you." Stroking her hair comforting, covering her face with tears.

"You killed the one and only person that could ever love you." Zeref hovered over Natsu's body. "Her death is on your hands." With no further warning, stood Natsu before him, punching him to the ground.

"She was killed by your hands, not mine!" Giving off another punch. "I did everything I could do to save her!" Rapidly punching him, until Zeref's face turned red with blood. It looked like Natsu was taking down Zeref, until he tossed Natsu off him.

"The great prince Dragneel is just weak, you are weak!" Natsu stood right back up on his feet, storming over to him, tossing himself at him. To no avail, Zeref was to fast for him, knocking him down once more. "Show me your strength!" Silence filled the air, except Natsu's panting. With hard eyes, looked Natsu at Zeref. He had no signs of visible wounds on he's face and he smiled widely at him. Swiftly grabbed Natsu a sharp stone from the reef. He looked confused at Zeref who stood there with open arms. Letting Natsu's emotion run out of control, could he feel the stone moving in his hand. As he let out a scream, pushed Natsu the stone in Zeref's chest. When he continued to smile, pushed Natsu the stone further inside, feeling the satisfaction of it. With wide eyes stood Zeref there, feeling onto the pain going trough him. He caught and blood splashed over at Natsu's face.

"This is for Lucy." Unable to control his tears, feeling the blood from Lucy's murderer slide down his hands.

"Thank you." Natsu looked shocked at the black haired male's reaction, who thanked the man who were killing him. " Now I can finally see her again." Natsu pulled the rock out, stabbing him multiple times, shouting in anger.

"It's not fair!" Leaving the stone in Zeref's chest. Natsu stepped back, watching him.

"To see Mavis again." Zeref fell to the ground, shortly to be surrounded by blood, covering his feet. Quickly looked Natsu behind him, running over to he's beloved. Wrapping his arms around her, holding her tight.

"How can I live without." Grabbing a hold of her cold hand, kissing it gently, before he placed it on his chest. "Come back to me." Wanting to feel her closeness once more. Before he kissed her on her lips. "I love you."

6 years later.

"Daddy, daddy!" Natsu watched as he's little girl ran towards him with open arms. "Grandpa is a poop!" Laughing t her as she threw herself at his legs.

"What is the matter Nashi?" Looking down at the teary eyes staring at him.

"Grandpa is a poop!" Saying it more fiercely the second time, as she were pulling Natsu's pants, wanting to be carried.

"I heard it the first time, what has he done now?"

"Grandpa lost and destroyed the game" Crossing her arms in annoyance, sniffing up her runny nose. "I told you. Grandpa is a poop." Natsu couldn't help but laugh at the young girl, lifting her up in his arms, walking out in the garden.

"You have to be nice to grandpa." He looked behind him, before he lowered his voice. "Grandpa is old and grumpy." Smiling over at he's father, who were only a few feet away. With a frown on his face, followed Igneel after them.

"Grandpa is not deaf you know!" Looking at Nashi who reached out her tongue to the older man, who did the exact same thing in return.

"Daddy?"

"Mhm?" With her big brown eyes, stared the little one up at him.

"Can you tell the story one more time?" Clinging around his neck. A sigh escaped Natsu's lips, as he knew that there was no chance escaping her request. "Pretty please?" Natsu looked over at a tree in the garden where a beautiful woman laid under it, giving him a great idea.

"Why don't you ask your mother, she tells it so much better than I do." A smile spread across his face. She sat and read a book, while she rested it on her clearly visible baby stomach.

"Mommy!" Swiftly she slides out of her fathers arms, running over to her mother, with an uncontrolled speed.

"Careful with your mother, Nashi!" Said Igneel as he came running after her, lifting Nashi up from the ground. "How are you feeling, darling?" Asking her concerned.

"Like I am about to explode." With relief in her voice, watching her father in law holding her child in his arms, trying to get loose.

"If you don't stand still, grandpa will eat you up!" Nashi screamed in joy, when he growled into her hair. Natsu seated himself next to his wife, gently kissing her cheek.

"You look beautiful today." She thanked her husband, by placing a kiss on his lips.

"You are not so bad yourself." Tugging him by the shirt, kissing him more passionately. Natsu didn't miss his opportunity to be close to her, wanting to taste her more. Placing his hand behind her head, kissing her slowly, trying to hide his eagerness."Be careful, my hormones are acting crazy. Especially when I want you so badly as now." Whispering into his ear, making Natsu smirk in satisfaction, while she slides her hand down his thigh. Igneel coughed uncomfortably at them. The two of them turned around to see their daughter and her grandpa looking disgusted at them.

"Ew." said Nashi blunt.

"I can feel the baby kicking!" Said Natsu, trying to turn the conversation quickly. "Come and feel it Nashi."

"Let me feel!" She was quick to place a hand on her mothers stomach, staring intense into her fathers eyes, trying to feel another kick. Looking disappointed as she could feel er sibling move, removing her hand.

"No, try one more time." grabbing Nashi's hand in his, tracing it around on her mothers humongous stomach. "You just have to be patient." Sticking her tongue out in concentration. When the baby finally kicked, sparked Nashi's eyes with joy.

"I felt it!" Grabbing her grandfathers hand, wanting him to feel the baby move as well. "Can you feel it grandpa!?" Even that he had experienced it so many times, was it still putting a smile on his face. Nashi placed her head next to his hand. "Do you think he can hear me?" Pressing her lips onto her mothers stomach. "Helloooo!" Natsu stroke his daughters hair, as she laid still, trying to listen if the baby responded.

"You can try telling it a story? Said Igneel. Then it hit her, that's what she came all the way out for. That and her grandfather was a poop.

"Yes! Mommy!" Looking at her with hopeful eyes. Natsu looked relived, as he wasn't going to be the one telling it, again.

"Alright sweetheart." She knew very well which story she wanted to hear, as she asked about it daily. "Once upon a time-"

"No, start at the ending!"

"Fine." She was used to her daughters stubbornness, when it came to this story. It had become a habit to only tell the story's ending, her favorite part. "The mermaid princess laid still on the ground. The prince ran towards her, wrapping his arms around her. He tried to wake her up, but she wouldn't wake up. The prince cried over his beloved." Nashi looked at her mother with big eyes, excited to hear what happened next. Even tho she had heard the story a thousands time before, sat she still before her, dying to hear the rest. "Now he had a hole in his heart. The prince held her close, holding onto the little what was left of her. And for the last time, he kissed her lips goodbye." Nashi gasped surprised, covering her mouth with her hands.

"Then what happened!?"

"The wizard had finally been returned with his love, the fairy princess."

"But what about the mermaid princess mom!?" Holding onto her grandfathers hand, as it were depending on her life.

"Because the mermaid princess forgave the wizard, something magical happened."

Natsu laid over her body, never wanting to leave her side. The hole in his heart could never be filled, not as long she was dead. He wanted to be with her, even if it meant death. As Natsu were thinking the darkest thoughts, consuming him with grief, began the reef to tremble. He looked around to see what was going on, then a beam of light struck him, sending him flying away from Lucy's body. The ground began to collapse underneath him, cracking up. He wanted to save her, unable to except that she had passed. Trying to move over to where she laid was impossible. Natsu couldn't even stand up straight. The bright light was still shining, it was shining around Lucy. Her body were glowing.

The light became brighter by the second, blinding him. He couldn't see. Where was she. But then, the ground underneath his feet disappeared, sending him into the dark cold water. Stones were falling around him, while he was trying to make his way back to the surface. He could see the bright like shining from above, but it got weaker and weaker. Just as Natsu took a deep breath of air, were the light gone. To his surprise were the reef gone, it was all gone.

Lucy.

Lucy was gone.

Natsu shouted all he could into the night. Desperate tried Natsu to find her body. Before it sunk to the depth of the ocean. He had to find her. She had to be here somewhere. Behind him came both Juvia and Levy, diving after their friend. Natsu waited for several minutes, that felt like hours.

When they both came back up to the surface, wore them depressed faces. His heart sank to the bottom of the sea, watching them return empty handed.

"We couldn't see anything.. it's to dark down there." Wiping away her tears. He wasn't the only one who had lost someone dear to him.

"It's not possible." Natsu stared empty out in the air, where the reef had been. "She's gone." Levy covered her face with her hands, crying her heart out. Juvia wrapped her arms around her crying silently into her friends shoulder.

"LUCY!" Shouting from the top of his lungs. His voice carried out in the one, for every person to hear.

Then it happened. The trembling they had already felt, came back.

Natsu looked confused underneath, to see a dim light grow stronger and stronger. Staring at it, before he swiftly dived under water, swimming the fastest he could towards it. The closer he got, could he see a figure in the distance, approaching him. Just as when he was getting closer, the light faded away. Natsu could feel the air leaving his lungs, as he saw a human figure only a few feet away. His heartbeat rose rapidly, when he could see the figure clearly. With long beautiful hair, bright as the sun, there was no mistake about who it was.

Lucy.

Just before it blacked out for him, could he feel Lucy's embrace, holding him close, feeling her love in a deep kiss. He would never loose her again. Ever.

"Then they lived happily ever after. The End."

"No! Mommy! Nashi fell on her back in excitement, wanting to hear more. "And then what happened!?" Not letting it go, that the story was finished.

"They got married and got a beautiful daughter." Jumping right back up to listen more. "Then they moved into a big castle, to be king and queen-" Natsu wrapped his arms around his wife waist, placing his face in the crock of her neck, finishing the story for her.

"The mermaid princess was the fairest in the land and the old king accepted their love. They grew old together and loved each other til the end." Clapping with her hands in joy, Nashi looked satisfied with love story she got.

"Grandpa, let us play!" Forgetting that she just had been mad at him."You are it!" Hitting him in the arm, before she run off like a fool.

"That's cheating, I wasn't ready! Come back here!" Following after Nashi.

"Natsu?" Noticing that her husband had not stopped touching her neck, only to kiss it instead.

"Mhm?" Not really interested what she had to say, he was to busy embracing the woman he loved. Slowly he moved over to feel her breast , gently messaging them.

"You can at least try to be more discreet.." Trying to hide the pleasure he was giving her. Biting her lip, as her urges were taking over. "Besides, your father is just over there, playing with our kid. Not even looking up from her neck, kissing his way down to her cleavage.

"It is not like he does not know, you are pregnant with our second child after all." Grabbing a hold of her, lifting her up in his lap. "After our wedding night, I think the whole castle heard us." Smiling satisfied with himself. "I was not the one who were making loud noises of pleasure-"

"Don't pretend like I was the only-" Silencing her with a kiss. "One." Natsu continued kissing her, all over her chest.

"What about we go back up to our room and do it once more like on our wedding night?"

"Daddy!" Natsu's excitement instantly vanished, as he gently tossed his wife off his lap. "Grandpa is a poop!" They looked at each other and smiled, grabbing each others hands.

"I love you Lucy, now and forever."

Ello!

Again I will say it's been a while. But this year have been such a rough time, in a good way i must add. My boyfriend and I have finally bought a place and i have been renovating it since summer. So finally! Now I got time to write, but in my defense, I had already written the last chapter by hand, but in all the moving I had lost my book.. and I finally found it the other day. And when I got a message about updating one of my stories, I though hell ye! You deserve it.

I thought I couldn't end this year without finishing 'Mermaid', it was about time. This story has been so dear to me and I have loved written every single word. It's been a while since I first published it, but hey, I finished it! Thank you all for reading my story and been trough it since the beginning. And I hope my writing has improved, for all of you who know I have dyslexia and my reason for writing FanFiction.

For all of you who are waiting for other stories. 'Fairy Tail Industries' are of course the next in line, thank you for being patient.
BTW, it's like 03:42 and I'm still writing this. It's late, but I wanted so badly to finish this!
