Hey peoples! Lily-chan here! I'm glad you guys are liking my chapters so far. I am continuing on with the story. Don't worry. I promise to try and keep updating as much as I can. It really depends on homework, projects, and finals. But I will put time into the story. Also, to clear up some confusion, the Karin Bashing will be very minor and it will dissolve at the end of the story. I hope you guys like the two characters that were added in. Now on with the story!
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.
~Chapter 5~
Previously on The True Legend Of The Harunos…
"Yes Snake. It's the same MO. The heart was surgically removed without any damage being done around the area where the heart is located. The wounds and method of bonding on her wrists would suggest that it was antemortem. The removal of her heart was the cause of death." The commander replied as she evaluated the body.
"Alright, let's head back to the village. Owl, you and Snake will take the body to the medical examiner for an autopsy. Panther, please take this copy of the report and place it on my desk. I'll report back to Lord Hokage." Commander Scorpion instructed.
"Aw. You poor thing. Can't stand being around your best friend. But, seriously, aren't you guys like fully grown adults now? I'm sure you can handle Naruto by now. Man, why can't you two be like Sakura? She's very mature and knows how to deal with similar situations." Bara said.
"As time passed, the Haruno tribe prospered and lived in peace. A few years later, a mysterious woman came into their lives. She had magnificent pink hair that flowed like sweet cherry blossom petals. Her eyes were as clear as the moonlight. Others would say she was a creation from the heavens. Her name was Mia Ōtsutsuki. The three of them became very good friends. However, the friendship was not meant to last… Legend has it that there will be a child who is destined to wipe out the Corrupted Haruno for good." Sakura finished the story.
"So, Kakashi, what did you want to talk about?" Maea asked as Kakashi gazed upon the village. Kakashi said nothing as he watch the sun begin to set, marking the end of the day.
"Maea, do you remember when we first met?" Kakashi finally spoke.
Maea looked him with a confused expression. Not knowing where this was going, Maea smiled and decided to go with it.
"Yeah. If I remember correctly, we ran into each other and it ended with you on top of me. As an apology, you treated me to a dango shop. Heh, I also remember you being very cute and awkward." Maea's smile turned into a smirk.
"Did you have to mention that part?" Kakashi sighed as he reached into his pocket.
"Maybe, but I've always treasured that meeting. Because of that meeting, I was able to get know you and you know what?" Maea asked as she walked up to Kakashi and hugged him from behind.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Maea said and Kakashi looked at her with a shocked face.
He didn't how he was so deserving to have such an angelic and magnificent. Even as a shinobi, she was still able to retain her grace and compassion for humanity. She doesn't even have anyone's blood on her hands. Finally gaining the courage, Kakashi turned towards her and hugged her like she was his final lifeline.
"Maea before I met you, there was always something missing in my life. It was like a dark void in my heart. Yes, there was Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Gai, and all of the others. But, with you, it's like I can move through life without a care in the world. After years of blood and sorrow, I was able to meet you and I finally gained the missing piece in my life. Surprisingly, the piece had a lot of spunk, kindness, and a huge attitude when something really pissed her off." Kakashi said.
Maea looked him with tears of joy getting ready to spill. Kakashi got on one knee and continued.
"Maea, you are the moon that lights up my night. Without you, I would lose that brilliant light forever. I can never imagine myself with anyone else who isn't you. And so, I, Kakashi Hatake, would like to ask you a question that will change our lives forever." Kakashi continued with his confession and took a deep breath and took out the ring.
"Maea Rose Taiyo, will stay with me for the rest of our lives and marry me?" Kakashi asked.
Maea's eyes widened at Kakashi's proposal. Smiling widely as tears streamed down her face, she nodded her head and said, "Yes! I will!"
Then, just before the sun setted, Kakashi pulled Maea into an embrace and kissed like it was their last.
The marketplace was packed with both civilians and shinobi. Among the crowd was a pink-haired woman and a man bearing the Uchiha crest on the back of his shirt. Roaming throughout the marketplace, Sasuke helped Sakura with her errands as they talked about what's been going on in their lives.
"So, how is Bara doing nowadays? I haven't heard from her in a while. Is she busy again?" Sakura expressed her concern.
"Oh. She's been doing alright. Actually, she's been able to return home recently. So, that's a good sign. However, it seems she been over stressed lately. At this point, I'm guessing she is very busy about another case." Sasuke replied.
"Well, that does go with her job. Maybe, she'll be able to take a vacation soon. I'm just glad she's safe and well." Sakura said with relief in her voice. As Sakura and Sasuke continued down the road, Sasuke noticed that Sakura was distracted and very tense. Every now and then, Sakura would look in the distance with a worried look on her face. It was only when Sasuke called out to her that she focused on the present.
"Yes, Sasuke? Sorry, I was just thinking. What were you saying?" Sakura asked.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed at Sakura's changed in behavior.
"Are you sure you're okay? You've been acting out of place." Sasuke said with concern.
Sakura nodded with a warm smile on her face. Knowing Sakura was going to keep it locked in, Sasuke decided to let it pass. As they passed a herb shop, Sakura's eyes lit up at the sight of the plants. Grabbing Sasuke's arm, the Uchiha displayed a small smile as Sakura looked through the different types of herbs.
'Well, at least she's back to normal.' Sasuke thought as Sakura came across a rare herb she was looking for. As Sasuke came out of his thoughts, he saw Sakura with a plant in her hands that he suspected was not a common plant.
"Um, Sakura? What is that?" Sasuke asked nervously. Blinking at Sasuke, Sakura held a mischievous smile on her face.
"Oh, this is just a green pitcher plant. Not much. Why?" Sakura asked with an innocent look on her face. Sasuke's eye twitched as he remembered her saying the same thing about the venus fly trap.
"Right…" Sasuke said as they walked to Sakura's house. On the way to Sakura's house, Sasuke took notice of the red tint to the sky but just shrugged his shoulders.
"So Sakura, I was thinking, if you're free tomorrow, would you like to go to the waterfalls outside the village?" Sasuke suggested.
"Sounds intriguing. Is anyone else coming with us?" Sakura asked as she smirked a bit at Sasuke.
"No, I figured you could use a break yourself from the hospital and the children's clinic." Sasuke said as a blush appeared on his face. Sakura smiled and walked up to Sasuke and wrapped her arms around him.
"I'll see what I can do." Sakura replied. A small smile appeared on Sasuke's face and returned the hug. Once the moment passed, the two shinobi separated and Sakura began to walk into her house when suddenly a massive earth shake came out of nowhere and grabbed everyone's attention. Sasuke quickly grabbed Sakura held on when it stopped suddenly. Nothing happened. They both began to relax when a bigger shake came about. Followed by the shake was a loud painful scream that had everyone covering their ears. Turning where the noise was coming from, a stream of smoke could be seen within sight. Sakura's eyes widened in shock and realization. Narrowing her eyes, she started moving towards the Hokage's tower.
"Sakura?" Sasuke questioned.
"We have to go to the Hokage tower. I'm guessing Kakashi-sensei will be needing all available shinobi for this. Plus, there's something that he needs to know." Sakura told Sasuke and they both ran to the tower.
