Hey, guys! This is an idea I had a while ago, and I decided to put it on paper. I don't own the Librarians, sadly. :(
"I'm offering you a life of mystery and misery, of loneliness and adventure. More than that, I am offering you an opportunity to make a difference, to save the world every week, twice before Friday. Are you in?" Flynn asked the group. They all seemed a little shocked, and Jenkins looked downright angry, but Flynn was the librarian, and it was time to take advantage of that.
Stone looked at him, shocked, and pointed at Cassandra, "Even her?" The incredulousness in his voice actually a little insulting to Cassandra.
"Yeah," Flynn nodded. Cassandra may not have made the right decision, but she was scared and alone and desperate. And she redeemed herself. She could have saved herself, but she didn't.
"She sacrificed her life to save Flynn's," Baird said, looking straight at Stone. "I trust her."
"I'll give it a shot," Stone said, shrugging. "If we're helping people, sure."
"It will provide an opportunity to steal new things. I'm in." Flynn supposed that Jones would say something like that, but he had a feeling that Jones really wanted to help people, and try being the good guy for a change.
Flynn looked at Cassandra for her answer. Instead of giving a verbal response, she just looked up at him with tears in her eyes and ran over to give Flynn a hug. It had been a long time since anyone had giving him a real hug, one where you squeezed the other person tightly and let all your emotions be conveyed by the connection between the two people. Flynn was a little surprised at first, but then he smiled and returned her hug. The feeling he had in this moment was very similar to when Judson called him his son, but it was different. It was like he was in Judson's place. He was the father.
Cassandra pulled back and nodded, the tears still running down her face. Flynn smiled at her and wiped away her tears with his hand. Cassandra had said that it had been a long time since she had a family that was proud of her. Flynn was determined to give her that family. To give all of them a family, really. "Hey, it's your library, now," Flynn said, knowing that she would understand. It was his library, but she, and all of them, were part of his family, and, in a family, nothing belonged solely to just one person. "At least this little part of it. And don't worry, I'll be back to check on you in a few weeks. Try not to die." He smiled at his new Librarians-in-Training. They would make a rather nice family, something he hadn't had in a while, either.
Thanks for reading! R&R
