I REWROTE THIS CHAPTER AND THE NEXT ONE SO I ADVISE YOU TO READ THEM AGAIN!

This story will be a Harry Potter/Merlin crossover.

Morgana Pendragon is reincarnated as Morgan Potter, and though she's still Voldemort's horcrux and she's known to the Wizarding World as the girl-who-lived, Neville Longbottom is the actual child of the prophecy, the one destined to kill Voldemort or die. Dumbledore is the only one who knows this because he's the only one who heard the prophecy in its entirety, a prophecy that definitely refers to a boy. Voldemort only heard the first three lines of the prophecy, therefore he didn't know the prophecy referred to a boy. So, both Morgan Potter and Neville Longbottom became Voldemort's targets.

This will be a Morgana(who is also FemHarry)/Voldemort fiction. Though Voldemort will look like an older version of Tom Riddle, not Voldemort-snake-face. And he will be saner than in Canon, though still very much evil.

Dark!Morgana/FemHarry, Evil!Morgana/FemHarry - though saner than in Merlin season5.

I don't have much to say beside the fact that it will follow the general storyline of the Harry Potter books, though there will be differences, obviously.

My Character - called Morgan Potter - will be a mix of Morgana Pendragon in Merlin and Dark!Evil!FemHarry (prodigy, powerful, smart and with sociopathic tendencies like Tom Riddle). And yes, she will look like Morgana in Merlin - Katie McGrath - because she is Morgana.

I've still put this story as a crossover because technically she is Morgana, though not only Morgana. She's the reincarnation of Morgana.

Merlin will appear too, though only during the events of 'the Deathly Hallows' and the Horcruxes' hunt, not before. Arthur as well will be in the story, though he won't know he used to be Arthur for a long while.

Before you start reading the story, there are still some info I'd like to leave you with so there's no confusion:

So, in canon HP, Merlin attended Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin House. However, in this story, Merlin, Morgana, Arthur, Mordred etc, lived before Hogwarts was founded. So, the Hogwarts founders lived in the 10th Century (Hogwarts is founded in 993 AD) in Canon HP. While King Arthur was, according to medieval histories, a legendary British leader who led the defense of Britain against Saxon invaders in the 5th and beginning of the 6th Century. So, I'm going with that time period, since in Merlin, Morgana actually led the Saxon army in season5, therefore it fits with the timeline of events. Between the 500's and the 900's, wizards and witches started to rely on wands for their spells and the language used for their spells changed from Old English to Latin as the standard one.

Another thing, while the events in Merlin are the same as this story, I'm going to add some stuff from the Morgana/Morgan Le Fay of Harry Potter. Morgan Le Fay in HP was highly proficient in the Dark Arts, she was very skilled in healing magic, she was an animagus (she could turn into a bird) – therefore she mastered Transfiguration (Human Transfiguration in particular) as well as Potions. She was also the Queen of Avalon.

I'm keeping all of these things for this story, and the bird Morgana could turn into was a crow, but since she's Morgan Potter now, she will have a second form as well, a Dark Phoenix. I think it's fitting since one of the abilities of the Phoenix is healing tears and a phoenix represents resurrection, but because it's a dark phoenix, it represents the dark arts as well. (A dark phoenix technically doesn't exist in the HP world but whatever, here it does).

Last thing, in the TV show Merlin, Merlin was a Dragonlord. In fact, he was the 'last dragonlord'. However, in this story Merlin is still a dragonlord, but not the last one. Just one of the last ones left, from a few bloodlines of dragonlords still left. Also, while in Camelot and the other kingdoms nearby there were only two dragons left: Kilgharrah and Aithusa, other dragons existed elsewhere. Dragons are a protected species but there are still many left in the world. In Merlin, only a dragonlord had the ability to make a dragon's egg hatch, but that won't be the same here, for obvious reasons. However, only beings with magic can make a dragon egg hatch. Dragons can live for thousands of years (don't know if it's true in either Merlin or HP, but it's true here – I don't think it's so impossible since in HP, basilisks could live for thousands of years. The same is true for dragons here). Dragonlords are the only beings with the ability to form deep bonds with dragons, able to control them and talk with them (telepathic communication – dragons can't actually speak aloud). Also, in Merlin Morgana is technically not a dragonlord, but her bond with Aithusa is too strong for her not to be one. It's very strange that she wasn't one. So, in this story, she's a dragonlord as well. In this story is the dragons themselves that choose the dragonlords they want to bond with, so that not every dragon can be controlled by all dragonlords. Therefore, in this story, Kilgharrah chose Merlin and gave his loyalty to Merlin, and Aithusa chose Morgana and gave her loyalty to Morgana. In a way, it's similar to the bonds between Targaryen dragonriders and dragons in Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire (though neither Merlin nor Morgana rode dragons, though maybe they will, eventually in this story, who knows). Hope that's clear.

I hope you like it. Tell me what you think!

- I made a video about Morgana and Tom, by the way. It's not a trailer or anything but I created the video with this story in mind. Hope you like it, here's the link(without the hyphens): h-t-t-p-s-:-/-/-www-.-youtube-.-com-/-watch?v=Wy6wsRPcnDE.

Chapter 1

THE LAST HIGH PRIESTESS

"You are Morgana Pendragon, High Priestess of the Triple Goddess, and last of your kind."

(Alator of Catha - Merlin 4x07)

"What if magic isn't something you choose? What if it chooses you?"

"Every day I must look Uther in the eye knowing that if he were to discover who I really am, he'd have me killed."

"I have magic, Merlin. Uther hates me and everyone like me. Why should I feel any differently about him?"

"You don't know what it's like to be an outsider. To be ashamed of how you were born, to have to hide who you are. Do you think I deserve to be executed because of who I am?"

"We can find another way."

"There is no other way."

"I can see deep into your heart. And it's cold, cold as stone. You play Uther's loving ward, you play it so well. You fool him but you don't fool me. You would see Uther dead. And Camelot destroyed. There is evil in your heart."

"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO THE THRONE!"

"No, she does not, but I do. I'm your daughter after all."

"First I want you to suffer as I suffered. To know what it is like to be alone and afraid, to be disgusted with who and what you are... "

"These people are innocent!"

"As were so many that you put to death."

"What have you become?"

"It's what you taught me father."

"I blame Morgause and her magic for corrupting you."

"Once again how wrong you are. Morgause saved me, made me feel I wasn't a monster. I didn't choose my gifts, like I didn't choose my father. Yes, magic made me who I am, but so did you Uther Pendragon."

"I want you to live long enough to see Arthur die by my hand."

"Do you really hate me so much?"

"You cannot begin to know how much I hate you."

"It's over Morgana."

"No, you're wrong. This has just begun."

"The one they call Emrys will walk in your shadow. He is your destiny, and he is your doom."

"Don't think I don't understand loyalty just because I've got no one left to be loyal to."

"You're consumed by bitterness Morgana. It spread within you like a disease."

"Go ahead, make peace with Arthur, but I will not rest until all of Camelot bows before me."

"What happened to you Morgana? I thought we were friends."

"As did I. But alas, we were both wrong."

"I am going to enjoy killing you Arthur Pendragon."

"What did I do to make you hate me so much?"

"It's not what you did, it's what you are destined to do. I'm sorry, Gwen but I can never let that happen."

"KILL HIM! That's all they had to do! I am a High Priestess! I have the power of the heavens in my hand and yet he continues to defy me!"

"I want his annihilation, Mordred. I want to put his head on a spike and watch as the crows feast on his eyes."

"I'm sorry for what our father did to you."

"Uther was never my father."

"But we are brother and sister."

"Funny how you choose to remember that with my dagger at your back."

"What happened to you, Morgana? As a child, you were so kind, so compassionate..."

"I grew up. You are right to cower before my hand. I am more powerful than you can ever imagine."

"And yet with all that, you choose to do nothing but hate."

"Uther taught me well."

"Such hatred as yours can never triumph. I hope one day you will find the love and compassion which used to fill your heart."

"There is someone you have been searching for. Someone who has always eluded you."

"Emrys."

"I know where he is."

"Where?"

"Camelot. And I have his true name. It is Merlin."

"Why do you hide? You still afraid of me?"

"I fear no one. Least of all you."

"You have defied me for the last time, Emrys!"

"I WANT HIM DEAD!"

"EMRYYYYSSSSSS!"

"The battle's not over, Mordred. We will have our revenge."

"What a joy it is to see you, Arthur. Look at you. You're not so tall and mighty now. You may have won the battle but you've lost the war. You're going to die by Mordred's hand. Oh, don't worry, dear brother. I won't let you die alone. I'll stay and watch over you... until the wolves gorge on your carcass and bathe in your blood."

"No, the time for all this bloodshed is over. I blame myself for what you've become, but this has to end."

"I am a High Priestess, no mortal blade can kill me."

"This is no mortal blade. Like yours, it was forged in a dragon's breath. Goodbye, Morgana."

She woke up with a gasp, the images of her nightmares forever burned behind her eyelids, the phantom pain of a blade running her through, from belly to back, staying with her for a few long moments. It was not the first time she had had those strange dreams, but it was the first time the images had been so vivid. They were more than dreams, they were memories, she was sure of it.

She was her. In these dreams, she was always her. The incredibly powerful and beautiful witch that had been able to raise an army against Camelot and Arthur Pendragon. Morgana.

But it was impossible. How could she be the mythical figure of the stories? They were just stories, nothing more. None of those people had really lived, magic didn't exist. How could she be her, the most powerful magical being that had ever lived besides Merlin himself, if those stories were to be believed?

She shook her head but no matter what her brain was telling her, a part of her couldn't dismiss entirely the hope inside her that she was something more than what her relatives and all the people in her life considered her to be. She wanted to be more. She wanted to prove to everyone who had ever dared tell her that she was nothing, that she was better than them, better than everyone else.

And what about those strange 'accidents' that had happened since she was four years old? Things that had suddenly exploded around her, or had caught fire or had started shaking when she had been angry, scared or upset? Or all the times she had been able to throw Vernon or Dudley across the room the few times they had dared tried touching her, wanting to hit her, to show her 'her place'.

It seemed they never learned. Their fear lasted for a little while but then, they seemed to forget what she was capable of and tried to hurt her again. But every time, that something inside her reacted to the danger and fought back. They had never been able to hurt her since she was six years old, the first time she had been able to throw one of them across the room and against a wall.

Was it possible that what she could do was magic? It didn't seem as unbelievable as believing that she was the...what...'reincarnation' of the legendary 'Morgan Le Fay'? And yet, both of those things seemed to be true.

How could she explain those strange dreams otherwise? And what about her other dreams? The dreams about things that had not happened yet? Dreams about the future, exactly as Morgana was able to do.

She looked around, at the bedroom that had become her room since the first time she had been able to defend herself against Vernon. She looked at her reflection and noticed the similarities between herself and the woman in her dreams. She was younger of course, she was only eight years old, but they had the same pale skin, the same dark, wavy hair and the same pale green eyes. The only difference was a strange, lightning bolt shaped scar on her forehead.

She wanted to be like her, the woman in her dreams. Morgana Pendragon. She was evil yes, but she was also beautiful and powerful and inspired fear, awe and respect in everyone who met her. Morgana would never have let anyone treat her like the Dursleys treated her. Morgana would have hurt them, possibly kill them, just for daring trying to treat her like she was nothing.

Morgan swore to herself that, from now on, nobody would ever treat her like the Dursleys had dared treat her. But first, she needed to learn magic and become powerful once again, powerful as she was in her dreams. Fortunately, she had enough knowledge from her dreams about the spells she had used as Morgana – a High Priestess of the Old Region – that learning to control her powers would not be so difficult. At least, she hoped so.

She decided to try a simple spell, one used to conjure fire. She closed her eyes, in deep concentration, visualizing in her mind a tiny flame appearing in her hand, a flame that wouldn't burn her. She imagined the warmth of it, the brightness, as detailed as she could. Then she finally whispered: "Forbærne." She opened her eyes and sighed in disappointment when nothing happened.

Then a thought filled her head. Whispering the words of the spell, intent and concentration, they weren't enough. That wasn't how magic worked, or at least, that wasn't how the magic she had wielded in her dreams worked.

She tried to remember what she had felt in her dreams while using magic. The magic she had wielded in her dreams was deeply connected to her emotions, negative emotions to be exact like fear, hatred, rage, anger, sadness, grief, despair, disgust. Even the times she had lashed out against the Dursleys when they had tried to hurt her, she had felt deep, negative emotions.

She wondered if it was possible to use magic while concentrating on positive emotions but in her dreams, her magic had reacted only when she had been angry, afraid, full of hatred or despair. Never while happy. Even the healing spells she had performed, came from a place of calculated opportunism, never from a place of selflessness. She was incredibly gifted in healing magic but the only times she had ever used spells to genuinely help someone, had been to heal Morgause and Mordred, the only two people she had actually cared about. And yet, even in those instances, her magic had reacted to her selfish desire to heal them so that she wouldn't be left alone, so that she wouldn't lose them and therefore suffer because of it. The more magic she had used, in fact, and the more 'consumed by bitterness', as Queen Annis said, she had become. Losing Morgause, having to kill her, in fact, had only made those feelings worse. The only positive emotions she remembered feeling since she had learned to use magic had been when Aithusa had been by her side. Her beautiful white dragon – stunted, crippled and unable to speak because of the torture and imprisonment Sarrum of Amata had bestowed upon them both – had healed her when she had been on the brink of death and had remained by her side ever since. They had comforted each other, relying on each other when they had no one else. Aithusa's loyalty to her had been absolute and, in turn, Morgana had loved her like she had loved no one else since losing her sister.

Morgana tried to concentrate on that feeling at first, of the love she had felt for Aithusa, so warm and comforting, but it was overshadowed by sadness. Morgana had no idea what had happened to Aithusa when she had died. Was Aithusa still alive, somewhere? Or had Merlin killed her as well?

Anger ran, scorching hot in her veins, and she sighed. She couldn't summon positive emotions strong enough to control her magic. In fact, even in this life, she didn't have much experience with positive emotions, the Dursleys had always tried to make her as miserable as possible. In the end she tried to concentrate on the feelings the Dursleys inspired in her, since such emotions were at the forefront of her mind. She concentrated on the hatred she felt for them, the anger, the disgust. She wanted to hurt them, torture them, kill them even. She hated them so much, with an intensity that almost frightened her. She thought about Merlin as well, the person she hated most in her world. She let those feelings consume her completely, filling her heart and mind with it, acute enough that she could almost taste them.

She closed her eyes and tried again. And then she felt it. It was like a button had been switched on inside her.

She could even see it now. There was a ball of dark red light, as big as a golf ball, hot like fire, so very bright, with tentacles spreading on her chest and stomach. And there, in the very centre of it, a black core of light. It was like a tiny dot, but as soon as her focus was on it, it started to grow. It pulsed with energy, the more she concentrated on her emotions. And it grew and grew and grew, until it enveloped the ball of red light completely. The tendrils leaving the ball of red light turned black as well, and Morgan, thinking about how she had wielded magic in her dreams, concentrated on a single tendril. She imagined it growing longer until it traveled down her right shoulder then her forearm until it reached the palm of her hand. And then, she once again imagined a flame appearing on her palm while whispering the word of the spell.

This time, she knew without needing to look, that it had worked. Still, she opened her eyes anyway to check. She noticed out of the corner of her eye, her eyes reflected in the mirror in front of her turning gold. And there, in her palm, a tiny flame burning bright and warm. She smiled in satisfaction, feeling elation and pleasure traveling her body in waves. It felt good, doing magic. It filled her with a sense of potency, like she could suddenly do anything she wanted.

She didn't feel tired. On the contrary, she was suddenly filled with energy.

Still, she tried to calm down, knowing that what she was feeling was sort of like a high, as if she had consumed some kind of drug. Even in her dreams she had felt the same, the first few times she had practiced magic consciously. She remembered Morgause telling her that it was normal, to feel that way at first. Magic was addictive, but she simply needed to learn to control it, instead of being controlled by it. She would get used to it soon, like she had done in her dreams.

The most important thing was that she knew now. She could do it. She could wield magic. Her dreams were real. It was all true.

She didn't know yet, what to do with her newfound powers, but whatever it was, no one would stand in her way. Soon, she would be as powerful as she was in her dreams and then, she could do anything she wanted. Maybe she could even find more people like her. She knew they were out there, somewhere, probably hiding from the magicless people who would kill them if they knew magic still existed, just like Uther used to do, just like Arthur used to as well.

She would find them, she decided. Maybe she will resume her quest to free all magical beings, so that they will be able to practice magic in the open, without fear. That was what she had always wanted. Not having to hide who she really was. Being able to practice her magic in the open, and for those like her to do the same.

Yes, that seemed like a worthy goal. She just needed to become powerful enough to accomplish such a feat first. And then she will make it so that magical people will rule over those without magic, just as it should be.
