I'm sorry! I'm a horrible person. I meant to write this like 3 months ago, then school picked up and I didn't have the time. I'm currently working on a new chapter of Oops so it should be up soon, if you follow that story as well as this one. I'm so sorry to leave you guys hanging! Thanks for sticking with me guys!

As always, all credit goes to Hiro Mashima and I own nothing. Feel free to review and comment. I'll do my best to finish this story soon. Thanks again for sticking with me!

Natsu stepped out into the bright light and was deafened by the roar of hundreds of people. He raised his chained hands to block out the sunlight that was blinding him and to take in his surroundings. As the guards continued to push him forward, Natsu realized he was in a large area, and he was quickly being moved into the center.

What the hell did I just walk into?

Just as this thought crossed his mind a voice boomed across the coliseum.

"Let's go girl, move it!" The Captain commanded as he dragged Lucy through a maze of stairs and hallways.

"What are you planning to do with us?" Lucy snapped, trying to sound braver than she felt. She was extremely worried about Natsu.

"Oh, nothing major really. Just force you to watch your friend fight to the death against my men." The Captain smirked. "Maybe that will teach you Fairies to keep out of other people's business."

"You will never beat any of us, let alone Natsu!" Lucy argued. "You can't win!"

"Oh, but I already have."

The Captain pushed open a final door that lead them out onto a sunny balcony and a cannon went off. The balcony sat high above a large ring and contained two chairs. All around was people screaming and cheering for whatever was about to begin. In the center of the ring stood a man with familiar pink hair. Lucy's heart leapt to her throat. There Natsu stood, his hands bounded in chains and his eyes wandering the crowd, trying to take in his surroundings.

"Take a seat sweetheart and enjoy the show!" The Captain sneers as he pushed Lucy down into a chair. He turned to face the crowd.

"Ladies and gentleman! Welcome to our Annunal Dragon Slayer Games! You're all in for a real treat today, for we have brought in a real dragon slayer. Please welcome Natsu Dragneel the Fire Dragon Slayer!"

Lucy stood up and ran to the edge of the balcony. She had to let him know that she was there for him.

"Natsu!" Lucy screamed hoping that is advanced hearing could catch her voice amongst the calls of the crowd.

Quickly Natsu's head jerked to look her direction, a look of relief crossed is face.

"Lucy! Are you ok?" Natsu asked.

"I'm fine! You…" Suddenly Lucy was shoved back into her chair.

"Stay seated you slut!" The Captain snapped at her and turned back to the crowd.

"What did you just call her?" Natsu screamed from below them. Lucy could see he was chomping at the bit to come to her defense.

"Ah, I see you're advanced hearing wasn't just a rumor. You really are the real deal, aren't you Dragneel?" The Captain smiled slowly.

"So what?" Natsu grimaced. "What do you want from us anyway?"

"Just a good show! Ladies and gentleman, here I present today's hero Natsu Dragneel. How would you all like to start the show?" The Captains raised his arms as people began cheering and calling out what could only have been battle types.

"Soldiers….Monsters…..Let him fight a real dragon!"

"So many good suggestions, and I really like the idea of having him face off with a dragon, but why don't we let him warm up a bit." The Captain chuckled. "Get it? Warm up, since he's a fire dragon slayer?"

The crowd roared with laughter. If the situation wasn't so dire, Lucy would have face palmed at the bad pun.

"Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, please join me in observing the first battle of the day. Guards unchain that man and send in 15 of our best magic soldiers. Let's test out this hero's skills." The Captain stepped back and sat down next to Lucy.

"I hope your boy is as strong as the rumors are, otherwise today is going to be incredibly boring and I'll have to find another form of entertainment." The Captain gazed at Lucy like an object and laughed harshly.

Lucy clasped her hands and leaned forward in her seat. Do your best Natsu and I'll think of a way to get us out of this mess!

The two guards that walked into the area with Natsu, removed his chains and quickly left the center of the arena to observe as numerous large men stalked their way towards him. Natsu shook his head to clear it. As angry as he was at about the situation and how the Captain was treating Lucy, he had to focus on what was going on in front of him. He knew that she could handle herself, at least until he could find a way to escape.

"Hey guys!" Natsu raised his hand in greeting and smiled, the grin not reaching his eyes. "You guys ready to have some fun. We could always just call it a day and you could let me go."

"Not a chance slayer, but maybe if you beg we won't kill you in front of that girl," One of the soldiers growled.

Natsu stretched his arms above his head and shrugged.

"Whatever you say big guy, but it's your funeral." Natsu put his fists in front of him and waited for the inevitable attack.

An antsy soldier was the first the swing, his sword alight with the power of lighting. Natsu quickly dodged out of the way as another soldier came in to take the first's place with a right hook coming towards Natsu's face. Just in time, he caught the arm and used it to throw the soldier into one of the others. Two down.

A new soldier, this time using ice magic sent a large spear through the air.

"Fire Dragon Roar!" Natsu screamed, melting the spear and roasting a few soldiers. Make that 6 down.

The soldiers quickly realized that a normal battle wasn't going to work against Natsu. He couldn't help grin as some of the lesser soldiers exchanged nervous glances, they knew that this battle wasn't going to take long. Soldiers started teaming up and attacking from both sides, never managing to make a hit as Natsu expertly worked his way around the battle field. Soon, only one large soldier was left, the same one that Natsu shared words with before the battle began.

"Are gonna finish this?" Natsu grinned, motioning for the soldier to bring it.

"It would be my pleasure and honor to end your miserable existence, Fairy!" The soldier growled, slowly lifting a massive two hand sword.

The soldier raised his sword and went in for the charge. Natsu anticipating this, stepped to the side, only to find himself nearly impaled on another soldier's weapon.

"What the?" Natsu yelled as he jumped back.

"Metal magic." The soldier explained with a smile. "I can control various metal weapons."

"I've been standing back to watch you're attack pattern and learn from you. You've never seriously used your strength at all during this battle, you've been pulling your punches and dodging. The others were just test subjects so I can learn the best way to defeat you! You're weak, you're not really fighting! You're a coward…"

The soldier stopped in shock as Natsu grabbed him by the neck of his breast plate.

"You mean to tell me that I'm a coward for not killing the others? Is that what you're telling me? I have no need nor want to kill these men. I don't know why they chose to battle and follow your captain's orders, but I won't kill unless I have to!" Natsu screamed at the soldier, causing him to shrink back a bit. "The only coward here is you! You stood back while your comrades put their lives on the line. You observed instead of throwing yourself into the battle and protecting your friends! How could you do that? You're a coward and have no right to call me such because I'm not killing!"

"Shut up!" The soldier screamed, arching his sword up hoping to catch Natsu. "I'm doing what I have to in order to stay alive! If the others are dumb enough to run in and attack without a plan, then it's no fault of mine!"

The soldier slashed out wildly.

"I will not be defeated by the likes of you!"

"That's a shame, because I don't plan on losing either!" Natsu yelled.

"Fire Dragon Iron Fist" The punch landed with a crack, breaking the soldier's breast plate.

"Metal: Surrounding!" The soldier yelled, jumping out of Natsu's range. He summoned the weapons of the fallen soldiers and sent them to enclose on Natsu. "Metal Rush!"

"Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame!" Natsu surrounded himself in fire as he dodged away from the weapons that survived the fire.

"How does that metal taste, punk?" The soldier taunted, trying to see whether Natsu survived the attack.

"Eh, it's not really my thing." Natsu shrugged. "That's more of metal head's thing. What do you think of my flames."

Natsu pushed himself forward, catching the soldier by surprise.

"Fire Dragon Crushing Fang!" Natsu slashed and knocked the soldier back. He didn't quit from there and within moments, Natsu had the solder pinned and disarmed.

"Ya done?" Natsu grinned.

"I give! Just end it quickly, don't make me wait for death." The soldier paled.

"What do you mean end it?" Natsu asked, but then he heard the crowd around him.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!" The arena cried.

"What?!" Natsu shook his head in horror. He would never kill in cold blood.

"Just do it! Please!" the soldier begged.

"What's the holdup great Dragon Slayer?" The Captain asked, amplifying his voice like before.

"I defeated your soldiers, just like I was supposed to and now I'm waiting for your next 'game'." Natsu replied, turning to face the Captain.

"What do you mean they're all defeated?" The Captain asked in fake astonishment. "You still have that one behind you to defeat."

"I don't kill in cold blood. That man is defeated, so the battle is over." Natsu yelled.

"Tut tut, that's not how things work in the Dragon Slayer Games. You have to kill your opponent to go to the next round."

"Well, I guess then we'll be stuck in this round for a while."Natsu shrugged. "Got any food? I'm starving."

The crowd began to grow more and more violent all throughout the exchange. Anyone could see they were displeased with how the fight was going.

Maybe if I keep up this shtick, the crowd will riot and we can get out of here.

"Very well, if you won't listen to the rules, I guess I'll have to teach them to you." The Captain replied, removing his cloak and standing up on the balcony.

Natsu watched as the man gave orders to the soldiers on the balcony. Then the Captain jumped and landed perfectly at his end of the arena.

"Guards, get rid of the defeated and make sure you treat them as we treat all of the losers in the games." The Captain ordered.

"Yes sir!" The men saluted and began dragging the men away from the upcoming battle.

"How do you treat them?" Natsu asked, half afraid to hear the answer.

"Oh feed them to whichever dragon we planned to use in the finale." The Captain smirked as Natsu's face showed the shock of his words.

"You'll pay for hurting those men, along with the dragons, Vlad, and Lucy!" Natsu screamed, setting flames to his fist.

"Oh, I do hope so!" The Captain braced himself and raised his weapon as a voice called out:

3….2….1….Begin!
