Long time no see everyone. I know it's been forever, but I'll never abandon this story, I promise. Anyways, Here's chapter 11

"It's been a while since we worked out together," Sam grunted as he raised a barbell over his head. He and Brittany were at the gym and she was spotting him. Since Santana went to talk to Quinn, she decided to call Sam up too.

"Yeah, we've been slacking," Brittany said. "I think Sugar was here the last time too."

"How is Sugar anyway? It's still pretty weird that she just up and left like that."

"Well she sent me a postcard from Paris, so I think she's doing fine."

Sam shook his head, bemused, "I'll never understand that girl."

Brittany nodded, "She's one of a kind. You ready to switch?"

"Sure, your turn." Sam raised the barbell up to the hinges and got up.

Brittany adjusted the weight and started her reps, counting them in her head. But then she noticed Sam was singing.

"Are you singing 'Work it' by Missy Elliot?"

Sam gasped, "Does everyone know this song except me? I only found out about it this morning."

"Sam, I'm a dancer. Of course I know all of her songs. She's totally a legend. "

"That's what Mercedes said, but of course I had no idea," he sighed.

"Wait, why do you suddenly care about Missy Elliott?"

"It's not just her. It's every singer Mercedes likes that I know nothing about. She lives and breathes music, Britt. You should see the way her eyes light up when she talks about all her song ideas."

"I think I can imagine. Santana gets the same way," Brittany said, smiling slightly at the fond memory of a night where she and Santana talked for hours on end about all of her inspirations. Brittany knows Santana's favorite artist ever is Amy Winehouse and she knows one of her dreams is to do a tribute to her at the Grammys.

"-And I want to impress her," Sam said, bringing Brittany back to the conversation.

"That's sweet. But I wouldn't stress so much. You've only been on one date."

"Yeah, and I'm trying to get another one."

"Well I'm rooting for you." Brittany did a couple more reps before her muscles started hurting. "Hey, switch with me."

"Already? That was barely 25. You're getting soft, Britt." Sam teased, but switched with her regardless.

"Like you can do better?"

"I know I can do better." To prove his point, he got up and added an additional 15lbs onto each side.

"Whatever," Brittany said when Sam easily began lifting.

"So what are you doing next Saturday? There's this comic convention happening and I need a batgirl to go with my batman."

"One of your nerdcations? That sounds fun. But I may have plans with Santana, so I'll let you know."

"Even for roommates, you two sure do hang out a lot. I'm starting to think you chose her as your new best friend."

"Oh come on, don't be like that. You'll always be my number one guy. Santana and I are just…..well we're sorta…." Was she really going to tell him?

"Don't' sweat it Britt, I get it. Do you know how many bromances I've had? My buds and I once spent six days doing nothing but playing Call of Duty and watching WWE."

"Well Santana and I don't have a bromance. It's more of a g-girlmance, I guess? But more literal."

"Huh?" From the look Sam was giving her, she knew she wasn't making any sense. She has to be direct with this. Taking a deep breath, Brittany told him.

"Santana and I are dating," she said, instantly feeling a huge weight fall off her shoulders. Knowing she didn't have to lie to her best friend anymore was a huge relief.

"YOU'RE WHAT?" He yelled, momentarily losing his grip on the barbell. He had just barely stopped the weight from falling "WOAH!"

"Oh crap, are you okay?" Brittany asked, helping him put the weight back onto the rack.

"Yeah…I just…did I hear you correctly? You and Santana?"

"Uh-huh"

"You're dating…each other?"

"Yes"

"Huh," was all the blonde boy could say for a while as he thought it over.

"You're okay with this right?"

"Of course I'm okay with it. This is just so out of the blue. Since when do you dig the ladies?"

Brittany blushed slightly, "Oh um, I've always thought girls were pretty, but Santana's the only one I've had feelings for."

"Alrighty then, it's time to go." Sam said standing up.

"Where are we going?"

"Out for a drink. I want to hear the whole story so i can wrap my head around this."

"Alright, but let's hit the showers first. We kinda stink," Brittany suggested.

In true Sam fashion, he sniffed under his arms and grimaced. "I see your point. But I figured Santana would like you all hot and sweaty," he teased.

That earned him a slap on the arm from a very blushing Brittany.

Brittany had been so happy about with how everything turned out with Sam that she raced home to tell Santana about it.

She found the girl sitting at the dining room table with reading a newspaper with….glasses on?

"Since when do you wear glasses?" Brittany asked curiously.

Santana looked up from her article in genuine surprise and quickly removed her glasses. "Jesus Britt, you scared the crap out of me,"

"My bad," Brittany laughed, "Now since when do you wear glasses?"

Santana looked down at her newspaper, clearly embarrassed, "They're my reading glasses. I try not to wear them in front of other people because they make me look like a giant nerd."

"I think they look hot on you," Brittany said in a way that make Santana's mouth go dry.

"You do?"

"Yeah, you have a sexy substitute teacher look going on. I like it."

Santana licked her lips a little too wetly for comfort. She put her glasses back on, but she needed to change the subject before things got out of control.

"So what did you and Sam get up to tonight?"

"We went to the gym and then out for drinks. I told him about us too."

"Oh? And how did he take that?"

"He's totally okay with it," Brittany grinned. "I don't even know why I was nervous to tell him. But what about you and Quinn? How'd that go for you?"

"It was...good," Santana said, choosing her words carefully. "She apologized, I told her she was forgiven, and I told her I'd see her around."

"That's great. So are you two at least friends again?"

"Hmm," Santana had not thought about that. It didn't feel quite right calling Quinn her friend considering how long she's spent avoiding her. But given their history, it didn't feel right calling her an acquaintance either. They were somewhere in the middle. "I'd say we're almost friends. How does that sound?"

Brittany shrugged, "As long as you're happy, I'm happy."

"I am happy. Now we have two less things to worry about."

"You still worried about your meeting with your boss tomorrow?"

Santana shook her head. "Not as much as I was earlier. Mercedes and I came up with a solid presentation so if he doesn't give us a deal, screw him."

"I'm sure you guys will do great," Brittany said and let out a small yawn, despite herself.

"You tired?"

"A little. But I'm not ready for bed yet."

"Hmm, how bout we get our cuddle on, on the couch? We can put on Netflix"

"Okay!" Brittany exclaimed, shooting up from the chair and making her way to the couch. She stopped halfway to ask, "No horror movies, right?"

"Ugh gross, of course not," Santana agreed as she followed the blonde. She was grateful that both of them had the same tastes. It would make future date nights a little easier to plan.

'Slow down,' she thought to herself. 'We still haven't gone on a first date yet.'

As per usual for them now, Brittany laid down across the couch, leaving enough room for Santana to fit just behind her. It was a little unconventional, but the arrangement allowed for Brittany to wrap her arm around the smaller girl while allowing both of them to talk to each other face to face.

"So what movie are we watching?"

"I chose Inside Out. Is that okay with you?"

"I'm fine with anything," Santana said truthfully. She almost laughed at hoe predictable the choice was, but felt it might embarrass the girl. So they watched the first 20 minutes in relative silence, only speaking to laugh at the jokes or to point out jokes that kids may not have gotten. It was when Brittany had left for a quick snack run that Santana decided to make to move.

"I'm back, you can unpause," Brittany said moving to get back into her spot.

But Santana didn't unpause the movie. Instead, she put the bowl of grapes the blonde had gotten on the coffee table, and pulled Brittany in close.

"What's going on?" she asked.

"It's nothing bad, I promise," Santana assured. "I was thinking-no, I was hoping you would go out with me tomorrow night?"

"For real?" Brittany gasped slightly. She had been waiting for this moment for days. "Obviously I'll go out with you. So I can call you my girlfriend now?"

Santana could feel the blush coming, "W-Well, I was going to be all romantic and ask you on the da-"

"Forget the formalities, we don't need them. Am I your girlfriend, Santana Lopez?" Brittany grinned.

"Yes" Santana answered immediately. She didn't even care that her big moment was taken from her.

"Finally," Brittany grinned again and pulled Santana into such a searing kiss, her whole body felt like it was on fire. But she kissed Brittany back harder and longer, until their lungs screamed for oxygen.

She knew she was falling again hard. And maybe this time was faster than the last, and maybe that made a bit scarier too.

But damn, if it wasn't worth it.

Hope you all enjoyed and I'll see you next time.
