Harry Potter & the First Potter

Summary: There was a reason for the Sorting Hat wanting to put little Harry Potter in Slytherin House and it had nothing to do with Tom Riddle and everything to do with Harkonnen Potter, the first of his paternal family line. (this will be an AU type story.)

AN: The first science fiction book I ever bought was Dune by Frank Herbert. To me, he was a genius at bringing into a story about the environmental, political, and people's rights that you can be entertained and understand that some of what he is saying is irrelevant to our own lives today.

Prologue:

Hogsmeade Village

31, July 1215.

In the shadows of the mighty castle known to the medieval British wizarding world as Hogwarts one of the first teaching schools was a quaint little sleepy town known as Hogsmeade. If you were to walk through the town at this very moment you would see and feel a town in mourning for the first Governor of Hogsmeade died of old age surrounded by what was left of his family that loved him so very much. He was a proud and honest man to everyone that knew him, and that was what he wanted them to believe. He was known for fighting for the right cause not for what was easy. He was a friend to both his fellow man and creature. He was well known to be an honest man about everything in his life and the way he dealt with people. Even with him taking his last breath from this mortal plane the wise old man Harkonnen Potter only kept two secrets from everyone, and that was for his first fifteen years on this earthly plane he went by the name of Harry Potter born in July of 1980 and he was a time traveler from the years 1996.

One year prior to his death everyone saw a slight change in their beloved Town Governor. They could understand the change now with his passing. He was preparing for his death and that he knew his time was near. He was so very tired but he still had work to do. Harkonnen had to prepare his past 15-year-old self for what was to come. He was a man that lived and who believed that with the right people in place all work had to be done first and foremost before everything else should be done. Work should not be left to those with idle hands that would make things hard for mankind and everyone with the blessing of Mother magic gift. He installed this type of work ethic in his family and the people of the town and teaching school on the hill. So he was making damn sure before he went on to his next adventure that there wasn't any unfinished work hanging around even in his past life. He was not going to leave his past self unprepared in the past as he was. When his time came he was finally at peace to pass over to reunite with his beloved wife and concubine along with his parents. He left this plain with a peaceful smile on his face they would say.

If his calculations were right and he knew that they were for he was well known Ancient Rune Master he would appear in the smallest bedroom on Privet Drive after the first letter from Hogwarts came.

As his spirit left his body Harkonnen felt like a young man of 30 moons again and he would look like that too when he appeared in front of his past self and that was a good thing too because he knew his 10 years old self was stubborn to the core. He was well known for that too. When he appeared in the smallest bedroom on Privet Drive just like he suspected it took his younger self a while to be convinced. Konnen and Harry as Konnen asked Harry to call him not to confuse everyone with the two Harry's names talked until the early morning hours. Harkonnen had the Power to solidify himself for a certain time to help little Harry with the majority of things needed to be done at this time.

It took a week and a half to put everything into place so when Hagrid brought Harry to what everyone thought was his the first time in the alley since his parent's death was not the case. That day was the day after Harry was given the smallest bedroom. After little Harry finished cooking breakfast for little Harry who would begin to think of the Dursley as his primary blood relation, not his family. After the Dursley family went out for the day, Konnen and little Harry went to Diagon Alley and to the Goblin run Bank Gringotts. They looked completely different until they entered the Porter manager's office. Little Harry was wondering why they were in this office when their name was Potter, that was when he learned that a man named James Evan Porter the founder of Diagon Alley and Harkonnen Potter were one and the same being. Before long Bardstone, while a very ingenious and clever goblin along with the clan leader Ragnok got all of the Potter and Porter families' accounts in order.

Harkonnen passed on some information from a Goblin Seer in his time and with this new information that would send shockwaves through the goblin race and for which Ragnok the Goblin leader was very thankful for. Ragnok gave the order that after the close of business today Gringotts would be doing a whole system-wide audit of every vault and account within the bank. What scared some of the Goblins was that this audit was being done by the Fremen, the goblin's very own Unspeakables. After everything was said and done it was a known fact that heads will roll, clan members will die if not the whole clan as an example to not cheat your own kind. When news got out about the Fremen audit a lot of wizards will not be happy including many in the Ministry for Magic but when the goblins found the shreds of evidence that everything told to them was completely accurate there will be hell to pay on the wizarding side of things too because they would find themselves in violation of four treaties signed in good faith to end their last war together.

As the first Goblin friend in their oral history Konnen and little Harry were taken to their infirmary where a goblin healer and goblin curse breaker could give little Harry a complete assessment. They were not pleased with what they found as Harkonnen knew they wouldn't be. They had five days before the Konnenas he was known to the goblin people, and Harry's actual birthday so it was decided that they would be honored to a very well kept goblin secret Only known by the Fremen, Ragnok the Great and Harkonnen who helped set up the room in the first place a time chamber.

While in the chamber little Harry would be healed completely. Everything from the blocks, trackers, and other spells placed on him without his or his parent's permission would be placed on an amulet that would be invisible to wizarding magic because it was goblin magic. Bradstone was the only one who could take it off of little Harry. The fragment of Tom's soul behind Harry's Curse scar was also removed to aid the goblins in finding the other ones made by Tom.

Harkonnen knew that Hagrid will be coming to retrieve Harry on their birthday so this first time in the chamber will be only for healing little Harry of everything wrong done to him. After little Harry returns from shopping with Hagrid, Harkonnen will return for little Harry to start his training in the time chamber, and to put the first of many quenches in Dumbledore's plans for little Harry.

The first being Harkonnen will get custody of Little Harry in both the normal and magical worlds so Harry's legal magical guardian Dumbledore has no say in little Harry's life from this point onward.

The Second before as little Harry steps on the train the notices for the Potter Will reading will be delivered on the 15th of August as a private reading only. Only those in the will can read the note and be allowed in the reading.

Another thing the goblins agreed upon was that every summer after school ended Konnen and little Harry would return to the Goblin time chamber to continue his training to help him in the past. There was an inherited test done on little Harry to know where they needed to begin his training and to everyone's surprise even Harkonnen as he didn't know that Sirius Black was his biological father. There was a letter in the Potter Family Vault that explain during their seventh year at Hogwarts Severus Snape in a towering rage over Lily Evans accepting James Potter's proposal went against the life-saving bond he had with James Potter and cursed him with an azoospermia charm to make the heir to house Potter sterile.

The evidence against Snape was hushed up by Malfoy and others in league with Lord Voldemort, also to no one else's surprise of Dumbledore having a hand in suppressing the info on Snape. Also in the letter was a closely guarded secret that was known only to the higher up in the department of mysteries that even with the new invention known in the muggle world as artificial insemination there was no way for it to work with magical DNA; it had to be done the old fashion way through intercourse. When James' sterility became known to Lily she was ready to go kill that Snape bastard herself. It was after six months of marriage before Lily after learning about Magical DNA to agree with the plan with Sirius to create a child. It was Lily's idea to create a contract known only between the three of them and the goblin contractor that any children created in this union between Sirius Black and Lily Potter would be blooded adopted into the Potter family within twelves hours of their birth that was why Konnen and little Harry were carbon copies of James Potter. The only test that would show Sirius Black was Harry Potter's biological father was a goblin inheritance test not the wizarding one done nowadays. It was kept secret that Sirius was little Harry's father.

Harkonnen would later read in the family Potter Head of House journals that Sirius and James were secretly known for having three-some with women before James settled down with Lily. It was also in the journal that Lily was pregnant at the time of her death with twins. (Personally, that was something Harkonnen could have lived without knowing and he was sure little Harry would feel the same way too when it was his time to read the journals. What child wants to know about their parents having sex at any age, and the loss of any sibling what might have been.)

Well, the Black family fortune will be going with little Harry to the past too. It surprised them all how vindictive their mother was to have left a potion in stasis for Harry to use and kill Severus Snape at the first opportunity. They have a saying in their family: don't piss off a red-headed woman because you will never know when she is coming back at you for it and you will never know what hit you in the end either. One of the house-elves at Hogwarts that still belonged to House Potter will know what to do. Harkonnen smiled in a knowing way he couldn't wait to see his Sunny again.
