Disclaimer: I do not own Kuroshitsuji

Finally, there's a new chapter ;_;

I must apologise... I completely forgot about fanfiction even after my exams ended about 2 weeks ago. Well, here is a new update, and I hope you will like it!

Do remember to review your thoughts and favorite and follow if you liked it :D

The 'canon' plot begins in this chapter, if not who knows how long I will keep dragging this on. Nevertheless, this is in no way following the canon plot all the way. The canon plot follows Ciel and this story follows Anais. There will be several interlocking events, but Anais won't be following Ciel around a lot.

(Note: This chapter is on the first episode of the anime with the person called Damian, while the first chapter in the manga is with Lord Klaus)

Enjoy.

(Here's a fun fact, this story was originally intended to be a Ciel x OC, but I'm a fan of Lizzy, so... xD)

Anais stood in the corner of the room, her hat ominously concealing her features as she continued to quietly observe the game from a distance.

It was simply a coincidence that Anais had chosen to visit Ciel the same time he had a guest. Apparently, his name was Damian, and he was an affiliate of Ciel.

That evening, when she visited, she was quite surprised by the Japanese rock style garden, but however, she did like it a lot. Though, Anais could not help but wonder why Sebastian would change the normally lush and greenery-filled garden with tastefully patterned rocks. The Japanese-style inspiration appealed to her, yet she did not understand the sudden change. That was before, she knew that there was already a guest present, of course.

While Sebastian had kindly offered her a seat, she declined, instead she was granted permission to wait for Ciel while he was talking to Damian. Her own reasons for visiting was straight-forward- Anais was extremely grateful for that cunning boy's advice that he had given her so far, even though they were nothing but former childhood friends.

(Sebastian seemed to be mildly annoyed at her for not calling before she visited, however if he was, he hid it well with his signature wide, closed-eyed smile.)

Anais opted to lurk creepily at the corner of the room, for she was currently disguised as her brother, Anubis. Her wig was tight-fitting and her outfit was convincing enough, however, she would rather not risk a stranger seeing through her disguise.

It was probably for the best that she kept far, far away from Ciel Phantomhive when he's playing games, anyway.

Unwittingly, she then picked up what the man was saying.

"-About that, if I were to receive assistance in the form of £12000 pounds... I'm sure this will not prove to be without benefit for you as well, Earl. "

Anais quietly lifted up her head to cast a glance at the man called Damian, and could not help but wonder what game he was playing at. The man would then continue, and Anais could not help but wonder if Damian had noticed the unimpressed expression on Ciel's features.

"I would become the legs of the Funtom Company in Southeast Asia and leap right into-"

"Lose your legs in the Forest of Confusion."

Ciel muttered as he deliberately cut off Damian, who gave a look of confusion. Anais wondered if she was the only one who detected the irony- Right after Damian had stated that he would be the legs of the Funtom Company, he lost them in the game...

"It's your turn again, I lost a turn earlier, after all." Ciel stated as his cold blue eyes stared at the man seated in front of him.

Holding her hat down, Anais resumed leaning against the wall, however carefully listening in on the conversation. Despite her intrusion, Ciel did not seem to care as he looked intently at the top Damian had just spun, before he abruptly corrected Damian.

"You lost your legs, didn't you? From this point on, you can only travel half the distance."

A dumbfounded look flickered over Damian's features, before he blinked and let out a laugh.

"Ah, this is quite a severe board game, isn't it?"

A small smile appeared on Anais' face. It was nothing less than expectation, for undoubtedly Ciel himself was the one who created the board game.

Damian then continued as he glanced at the board game in front of them.

"Is there no way to restore my legs?"

The smile was instantly wiped off her features as she glanced at Ciel, as if gauging his reaction. A dark shadow crossed his face, obscuring most of his face, as he stated, and Anais could've sworn that his voice grew colder.

"Something once lost will never return. You understand, don't you, Lord Anubis?"

The obscure tone of his voice and the deliberate way he addressed her immediately caused Anais to look up, an immediate instinct to be addressed as 'Anubis', and she couldn't help but give a closed-eyed smile as she grasped the hidden meaning behind his statement. Reaching up for her hat, she once again lowered it over her eyes, as her lips rose in a smile as she replied to his statement.

"Of course I do, Earl Phantomhive."

It was then did Damian jump in his seat and turn around quickly, as he failed to realize that there was another person present with them all along.

(Honestly, Anais had no idea if she should be offended or not.)

"Lord Anubis! Do forgive me for not noticing you earlier!"

Anais simply nodded, for anything else that she did would be out of character for Anubis Kane.

It might have been her own suspicions, but Damian seemed to be extremely jumpy, not only in his reaction to whatever actions Ciel pulled, but also in the way he would constantly laugh nervously. As Ciel glanced up, his blue eyes were trained on her green ones as he returned his attention to Damian, snatching something away from his grasp before speaking, his tone low and ominous.

.

"Your body is burned within the crimson flames."

.

Ciel's gaze was casted below at the board game, before they sharply and abruptly rose to glance at Damian. A look of horror flickered over Damian's face as he glanced down at the board game, undoubtedly horrified by the outcome.

" -The preparations for dinner have been made."

A rich voice made itself known as the was a tiny creak of the wooden door, accompanied by Sebastian standing in the open doorway.

Immediately, Damian seemed to have recovered as he straightened up, sounding quite eager to get up.

"Oh, dinner in that stone garden? I have been anticipating it greatly."

Ciel was still in his seat, as he then calmly remarked.

"Well then, let's leave the rest for later."

Damian froze, before he sat back down to his seat, before hastily proclaiming.

"Ah, but even without continuing the game it is quite clear that I'm going to los-"

Ciel stood up and spoke, before muttering, his voice sounding normal yet steely at the same time.

"I don't like quitting in the middle of a game."

As Anais straightened from leaning against the wall, she then halted as a look of annoyance flickered across Damian's face as he spat out, probably by accident.

"Child..."

He must have realised that he said it too loudly, as both Ciel and Anais spun to stare at him, and the temperature of the room seemed to drop by a dozen degrees. Immediately giving a forced smile, he spoke a little too hastily as he covered up his earlier statement.

"A-ah, I mean, having the flexible spirit of the child must be one of the requirements of a manufacturer! That is why the Phantomhives are the number 1 toy manufacturers in this country!"

At the door, Sebastian cast a dark look at the man, evidently seen through his features.

"-It is really admirable!"

Damian would then rise from his chair as he added, sounding a little too enthusiastic. Anais frowned.

It was painfully obvious that Damian was playing his own game. He did seem to be a tad too fake, as if disguising his own ill intentions. Anais gave a slightly audible sigh as she exited the room, following after Sebastian, Ciel and Damian, as she fixed her gaze at the man in front of her.

This man would soon painfully learn not to mess with the Phantomhives.

"Regretfully, we have not prepared a meal for Lord Anubis due to his... unexpected arrival."

Anais smiled in both amusement as she glanced at the butler. No doubt that the butler could have easily whipped up something for her, but didn't do so because he was still annoyed at her tendency to drop in like the Phantomhive Manor was her own home. As she looked at Sebastian, who was giving her an innocent closed-eyed smile, she gave a sheepish nod in apology before she straightened, adjusting her hat as she did so.

"Pardon my intrusion, I will make sure to call before I visit again in the future, Sebastian. However, I will be leaving shortly to have dinner with someone, so it is not a problem."

As Damian (and Ciel) gave surprised looks at the bowls full of rice and beef, before beginning to question if this was really dinner, Sebastian immediately replied, a gleam in his eyes as he began to passionately begin his explanation on the history of Beef Tataki-don, complete with hand movements and sounding like he was well-versed in Japanese Culture. Anais couldn't help but stare at the sudden change.

"And that! Is the power of the dish known as... Donburi!"

Damian was left speechless as Sebastian ended off his speech calmly, while Anais could spot the 3 servants with sparkles surrounding them in a nearby flowerbush.

Suddenly, as Sebastian ushered Mey-Rin to pour the wine, the red-headed maid swayed forward as if in a daze- Before proceeding to pour the wine outside of the glass, onto the tablecloth.

Her own eyes widened as the wine dangerously trickled towards the edge, in the direction of Damian...

.

WHOOOOSH

.

All of a sudden, the pure white tablecloth that was stained with the wine vanished out of sight, before being safely folded and tucked into Sebastian's arms.

Upon Damian's surprised expression, Ciel calmly talked it off as he continued eating, a smirk plainly visible on his face.

Sebastian, who had taken to standing next to him, gave a bow as he spoke, his voice retaining its normal tone.

"I am sorry to have disturbed you. Please enjoy your meal at your leisure."

As Damian then blinked in disbelief, before giving out a few loud laughs, he then commented on how talented Sebastian was, to which Ciel then responded.

"He only did what was natural, as my servant."

Sebastian then spoke.

"It is as my master says..."

He paused, the corners of his lips curling slightly.

"I am just one hell of a butler."

.

Anais shook her head quietly in disbelief as she secured her hat, glancing at the butler. What was she supposed to feel, anyway?

She had her own suspicions... but now it was just nearly clear to her that there was no way that Sebastian was really a human.

Ah.

After visiting the washroom to make sure everything was in place, Anais had stopped when she heard a voice, one that belonged to Damian, specifically, and her green eyes narrowed as she overheard his conversation on the phone. Damian had just plainly revealed his whole scheme to trick money from Ciel in Ciel's own home.

It was painfully obvious, however, he is a careless one...

Stepping away from the door, she looked up and started to walk away, a small bubble of fury in her stomach from the choice of words Damian used when speaking to his acquiantance.

Surely, to have called Ciel Phantomhive a child...

Anais guessed that it did prove that Damian was ignorant, after all. It never does any good when you look down on your opponents- a concept strongly enforced on her by her brother.

After walking a few meters away, she glanced up to spot the familiar black-clad butler, with an unreadable expression on his face.

Smiling, Anais would walk in front of him as she gave him a nod, before speaking as she took off her hat.

"Sebastian-san, I will be taking my leave now. I will probably be dropping by again tomorrow, for Ciel was busy today, so if I could trouble you to convey this to him as well..."

Anais sheepishly gave a small bow, watching as Sebastian focused his red eyes on her before placing his gloved hand on his chest, bowing as he gave her a smile.

"Of course... Lady Anais."

"Thank you very much, Sebastian-san. I do sincerely hope that man enjoys the Phantomhive's hospitality."

Anais gave a smile at the look of amusement on Sebastian's face.

It was then did she feel one of her eyes dilate and flash pink. As a look of horror crossed her face, she immediately put on her hat, and turned away, hurriedly uttering a farewell to Sebastian as she made her way outside of the Phantomhive Manor.

A thoughtful look crossed Sebastian's face before he turned and walked away.

Time was not to be wasted. It was time to show the man the Phantomhive's ultimate hospitality.

As Anais rode in the carriage, she nervously could not help but hope that Sebatian had not noticed her abnormal flashing of the eyes, however, something deep inside her told her that he indeed had.

Sighing, she rubbed her head, which had started to ache.

Anais was currently seated in the carriage, and Andrew was still preparing for the trip to the Midfords.

Marchioness Midford had insisted that Anais had dinner with Edward that evening so that they might get to know each other better, being engaged to each other now.

She still found the whole idea strange, however the engagement band on her ring finger told her that it was all reality. Unconsciously, she started to fiddle with the two rings on her fingers- the golden engagement band, and the old silver antique ring. Her fists tightened as the carriage started to move, before she bent down to retrieve a box full of makeover materials- namely a dress, simple make up, hair accessories and a comb.

In the distance, Anais could have sworn that she heard a loud, and absolutely terrified scream coming from the direction of the Phantomhive Manor, and there was no doubt who it belonged to.

A look of amusement flashed in her eyes. As much as she felt sorry for Damian, it was unquestionable that he had it coming all along.

After all...

One does not simply play games with a Phantomhive. Especially, not Ciel Phantomhive.
