Bonus Chapter! The stories come to an end. I feel sad now, seeing it finished. I'm trying hard to come up with a new story idea though, and hopefully I'll be able to think of something soon. I already have something in mind, so we'll see how it turns out!

I don't like making one-shots so expect stories that I make to be multiple chapters!

**In case the aging in this chapter is confusing, I'm going to make it so Lucy was twenty-two in year X794 and Sting, who is roughly a year or so older is 24 in the year X794***

Oh my gosh I can't for the life of me do anything that involves numbers today, so if I make a mistake with ages, leave a kind review and I'll fix it immediately. Please & Thank You

Chapter 56: What Awaited Us

Sting's POV

Eucliffe Home

Year X857

He was getting slower with each passing day, he knew that, after all he was turning eighty seven in a few days. Unfortunately his wife was looking worse for wear. She was confined to a wheelchair again, the same as she was so many years ago, her hair was the color of snow with a few odd streaks of grey here and there, and they keys next to her side had dwindled as she aged as well.

Sting feared he didn't have much time left with her.

The wrinkles on her face and body told many stories, as well as her accumulation of scars, she had been through tough times and troubling times throughout her long life, but she always kept a smile on her pretty face. She was as beautiful as the day they had met regardless of her aged and worn body.

He hoped he would meet her again in their next lives, no, he was certain that they would. The little red string that bound them together would make sure they met again.

Sting watched her silently from his resting place on the couch, the two were alone for once today and it was peaceful without their children and their children's children running amok inside their old home.

He had retired from the guild life long ago, when he turned seventy five and began to see his wife deteriorate before his very eyes, he knew he didn't have long left with her then, but she had pushed a few more years out of life.

He'd handed the Sabertooth guild hall over to their eldest daughter, Mitsu. Their daughter was already sixty three years old, her blonde hair was turning a dark grey, but her eyes still held the same sparkle as they had when she was younger. She was a fantastic guild leader and an even better mage, she seemed to have better control of the light dragon slaying magic then Sting ever had, and soon she would be passing her title down to her eldest son Kai. Mitsu had ended up marrying a mage from Lamia scale the daughter of Lyon and a woman whose name slipped his mind. Together Mitsu and her husband had, had six children altogether, two boys and four girls, all as rowdy as their mother had been. After she handed over leadership of the guild to Kai the two planned on settling down on the countryside somewhere.

Then there came the twins both fifty five now. He remembered when those two were born, they had been expecting one, but not two. Kozue their little boy and Rika their girl were currently travelling across the country in search of more keys. The two had both inherited their mothers magic and split Lucy's keys equally between them. The two of them would be back before long though, as he had communicated with them via lacrima to update them on their mothers poor health. Neither was married though, they preferred living by their own terms and close to one another, so they never settled down, at least not yet.

Then there was the baby of the family, Rhys, their little boy, who had just turned forty seven, he was married to the daughter of Gray and Juvia Fulbuster from Fairy Tail. Together they had four children two boys and two girls with a bundle of twins on the way. Rhys had inherited Sting's dragon slaying magic the same as Mitsu and he showed great progress throughout the years, he would surpass even Mitsu eventually.

Their children's children had also inherited the magic of their parents, what with heredity and all that being involved, his and Lucy's magic would get passed down from generation to generation and he was glad about that.

He looked at his wife once to check her breathing, which seemed to be steady as she slept in her wheelchair, so he allowed himself to drift back into thought...

He thought of Rogue and his wife, Yukino had unfortunately passed away last month as she was sleeping, it killed Rogue to watch her be put in the ground but he followed soon after. Sting assumed he died of heartbreak. He missed his friends dearly but he knew Lucy had lost people recently to, they all had for that matter.

Orga, Rufus, one died of old age and one died at the young age of fifty as they took on a mission that had been to hard on their aging selves.

Then there came Laxus who died at the old age of one hundred and five, That had been a tough time on the Fairy Tail guild. But he had given the title over to his eldest son a few years before his death, the silver haired boy had his mothers kindness and his fathers bravery. Mira and Laxus had made a fine family for themselves over the years. Mira was still alive and well for the most part, she was one hundred by now and confined to a wheelchair but hers and Laxus' children took good care of her.

Then there was Natsu, Erza and Gray, who were all alive still, nearing the same age as both Lucy and himself.

Natsu had settled down in X797 to a woman he had met on one of his many travels, after the two had met Natsu had dragged her back to the guild with him and they'd been together ever since. She had violet hair and bright blue eyes, but now Natsu's wife was an old woman, just like the rest of them. Together the two had, had six children four of them being girls. The teenage years was when Natsu's vibrant pink hair started to turn grey.

Erza had of course married Jellal. Although the two had managed to keep it a secret for close to five years, it was only when the scarlet haired mages belly started growing that people figured it out. Eventually Jellal came out of hiding and the three settled down together for the long run. Three precious children later and they had slowed down in their lives.

Of course there was the inevitable marriage of Gray and Juvia. That was the biggest thing to happen in X799. It took Gray a while to propose but eventually he manned up and gave the blue haired girl a ring. together they have six beautiful children. Sting and Lucy see Gray and Juvia often as their youngest had married one of their two daughters. Juvia was heartbroken when she started having all boys after the two girls.

Life had really caught up to everyone and Sting knew that time was running out for both him and Lucy.

Time was an inescapable feature of this existence. He watched with aging eyes as his children grew older and had families all of their own, he cried when his close friends passed on to the next life, but he had hope they would all meet again, wherever they may end up meeting. He wasn't scared to die, but he was scared of never seeing his loved ones again.

Throughout the years he'd had many adventures with his family, his skin was littered in scars that told a tale of adventure. He'd been raised by a dragon in this lifetime, he'd had two best friend -Lector and Rogue- and made many enemies along the way. He'd fought dragons and seen the end of time itself only to have it restored once more before his very eyes, he'd met the love of his life and married her, made a family with her. He'd seen mountains sink into the sea and miracles happen right before his very eyes. But most importantly, he had, had a grand life, living with her, with Lucy.

His eyes glazed over in tears as he reminisced about the past, he didn't want this life to end just yet, but he knew his and Lucy's time was coming to a close.

And as he gazed up at his wife who was slumped over in a wheelchair he started sobbing at the sight of her paling skin and her unmoving chest, her hand was clutching a scrap piece of paper it seemed, with tears in his eyes and small sobs wracking his body he slowly moved his aching muscles to grab the letter from her hand...

A single sentence is all it held...

"I'll see you again, promise"

Crying softly, but holding a small, fragile smile on his face he leaned down to give her one last kiss and whispered his goodbye in his wife's ear...

"I'll find you, always. I promise"
