~Enemies and Playmates~

Jade's POV.

"You can feel it to can't you. The connection between us." He said.

"I feel nothing." I snapped.

He smirked that devillious smirk I loved and hated.

"Our magic… it's ….We are… That's what you are to me and you know it!" He said pinning me to a tree.

I woke with another headache.

I grabbed the aspirin bottle that was beside my bed…only to find it not there. I opened my eyes and realized that I wasn't in my room.

I frowned and sat up. I cleared my bleary eyes, and blinked trying to rid the last of the sleep from them.

I heard giggling and looked down to see a partially dressed Lux.

I sighed as I remembered; I fell asleep in Lux's bed.

I bit my lip; I hoped she had a nice sleep.

I frowned as I thought about my dream. It was the first time that I had only heard bits in pieces.

It was like watching at TV show with someone constantly hitting the mute button.

It was frustrating.

And what was worse, the guy's voice sounded like the creep from school.

I shook my head before quickly grabbing some clothes for her to wear.

I opened the door to see Mia with confusion written over her features

Lux skipped past me and Mia venturing towards the kitchen where her breakfast no doubt awaited her.

I watched Mia shake her head; she had a slight smirk on her lips.

"Honesty sometimes I wonder who's really the parent." I said in irritation, her smirk reminding me of my dream before strolling toward my room to get dressed.

"Well good morning to you too sleeping beauty." Mia retorted sarcastically.

I shot her a dark look before walking into my room and closing the door.

A small part of me wanted to slam it. Maybe that would have elevated some of my frustration.

I sat in the shower, letting the hot water beat down on me. A shiver raked through my body, as the water scorched my skin.

I was a part-time masochism, but that was not the problem at hand.

Was it normal to have the dreams that I kept on having?

I clutched my head my head as the guy's voice played on repeat.

"You can feel it to can't you. The connection between us…"

Connection, was that symbolic? Was my conscious trying to tell me something and was using my imagination and dreams to get me to understand?

I cut off the hot water.

My skin was red. I sighed before grabbing a towel.

I pulled on some black skinny jeans along with black heeled ankle boots.

I walked around my room partially dressed looking for the right shirt to wear for today.

I grabbed one of my favorite t-shirts that said 'Take me to Neverland' along with a green cardigan.

I tossed my hair in a messy bun and bounded downstairs after collecting my cell and iPod.

"Are you alright?" Mia's concerned voice reached my ears.

I turned to look at her. "Yes, of course." I said abruptly.

I watched Mia frown; she looked as if she wanted to ask me something else but decided against it.

I walked by her sitting at the table and began nibbling on my oatmeal.

I began playing with my food seconds after. I wasn't hungry.

"You can feel it to can't you. The connection between us."

I quickly excused myself. I walked outside to get some air.

I sat on the stairs watching cars drive by. I placed my hands on my face. It was hot.

I took deep breaths as I felt the first signs of a headache coming on.

What the hell was going on?

~Enemies and Playmates~

Not long after that we headed out for Neil's.

"I really liked that story jade." Lux said as we sat in the car.

"The princess and the frog? Yeah, I guess it was ok." I could feel Mia's gaze on me face so I made sure not to make any eye contact.

Lux shot me a look. "It was awesome."

I smirked. "I don't know about awesome. Alice and wonderland in awesome, Peter pan is awesome. The princess and the frog was ok."

She shook her head, her blonde hair flying all about.

"No the princess and the frog is the best."

"So what… Is it your new favorite story?" Mia asked Lux

Lux nodded her head.

Mia gasped dramatically. "It even tromps Snow White?"

Lux nodded with a wide grin.

"Really? Even with the shadow people?" Mia asked.

At this I shot her a confused look. What the hell was she talking about?

Before I could voice my question lux looked at me with pouting lips and accusing eyes, all the while pulling that fairytale book from her backpack.

"You didn't say there were shadow people Jade!" She whined while flipping through the book.

I took the book from her, flipping through the pages. "That's because there aren't."

When I found the story again, I slowly flipped through the pages carefully analyzing each one. When I got to the last pages before the ones with the tears and blank pages I stopped.

It was exactly how it was last night. What was Mia playing at? A joke?

I turned the book towards lux so she could see that there weren't any shadow people in the book.

"See." I said with a triumphant smile.

Lux looked through the pages before looking back at Mia with a smile. "Oh I get it; mommy's just playing a joke on us." She laughed and I shook my head.

We arrived at Neil's place and after Mia unbuckled lux I saw her take a look at the story herself.

I watched her curiously. What was she expecting to find? It was just a story.

I saw her eyes widen before a gasp escaped her lips, she began to flip through the pages like she couldn't believe what she was seeing. I raised an eyebrow and just continued to watch her silently.

After a moment she gulped and closed the book setting it in the car.

I saw fear flash through her eyes as she turned and walked away.

I frowned looking between her and the book. I quickly grabbed the book before she locked the door as she had walked off with Lux in her arms.

We walked up to Neil's place I noticed a dark hair man wearing what looked to be a leather trench coat going in seconds before.

Mia opened the door and froze.

I stepped from behind her to see the man that had just walked in stabbing Mr. Gold. With a hook…a freaking hook.

"Tick tock, times up crocodile." He hissed.

I noticed Emma on the floor.

"You took Mila my love my happiness and for that now, I'll take your life…"

I reacted considering Emma was lounging on the floor and Mia was frozen.

I picked up a bin that was next to me and slammed it against the back of his head.

He fell to the ground unconscious.

I stood over his fallen form as Emma rushed to Gold.

I stared at the man's face.

Dark hair, whiskers over his face, sharp cheek bones. He was roguishly handsome, and yet he seemed familiar to me.

My eyes drifted from his face to his clothes.

Leather trench coat, black loose fitting blouse, leather pants and boots, and a hook for a hand…

I frowned. What was he? Some modern day captain hook?

Was he cosplaying? If so, he's taken his character a bit too far.

I looked over to see Neil there my mind seemed to zero in on two words.

"Enemy." "Hook."

I frowned. Hook? That wasn't his real name was it?

I looked down at him before I heard a whisper of another name.

"Killian?"

I looked at Mia from the corner of my eyes.

She still seemed frozen to the spot with lux in her arms.

She had a mix of emotion splayed across her face.

My eyes locked back on the man's face. So he was her Killian. Lux's father, and now my enemy.

He seemed to stir.

His ocean blue eyes locked on my green ones.

"Y-You. Why are you here?" He sputtered, scooting back from me in fear.

I from myself grinning maliciously even though I didn't have a clue why he was frightful of me; before kicking him in the face effectively knocking him out, unaware that everyone was watching our encounter.

I turned to see Neil, Emma, Mia and Gold staring at me, each with different expressions.

None of them I liked.

Gold looked smug, Emma suspicious, Neil wouldn't even meet my eyes and Mia looked sad like she was losing someone she loved.

I opened my mouth to ask a question when Mia finally stepped from her frozen state.

"Let's move Mr. Gold upstairs quickly."

Everyone nodded. Mia gave lux for me told hold who I had noticed had fallen asleep, which was great. She didn't need to watch Mr. Gold die…if he died.

Neil helped Mr. Gold up while Emma and Mia dragged the cosplaying pirate away.

I waited for them in the apartment with hennery and of course Lux.

"What happened?" Henry asked nervously.

"Some creep cosplaying as a pirate, went and took his acting too far, he stabbed his hook into Mr. Gold. And then I knocked him out." I said.

"A pirate…"Henry said staring at me with a curious expression. Not one filled with confusion and fear, suspicion rang in my head.

"Yes." I said looking at him curiously. "You're taking this news very calmly. Does this kinda thing happen a lot where you're from?"

Before he could answer the door opened and everyone else walked in.

Neil placed gold on the couch.

"Found a storage room and locked our stab happy pirate in there. He won't be causing anyone else any problems-" She said her blue eyes flashing in my direction before going back to Neil and Gold. "And get this he had a map on him. It looks like he sailed his ship here."

"How'd he get a pirate ship in new York?" Neil and Mia asked at the same time.

"It's cloaked." Emma grimaced.

I listened to them talk around me like I wasn't there.

I looked over at Henry who didn't seem at all bothered by all this crazy talk.

Were these people insane? I looked over at Mia; she seemed to be going along with it. Why?

I looked down at Lux sleeping in my arms. Would this madness end? I stood up walking into Neil room and placing Lux on the bed.

"We need to get him to an ER fast." I heard Mia say as I walked next to Neil to get a closer look at Mr. Gold.

Blood and a yellow substance seemed to be leaking out of Mr. Gold.

Dreamshade…The word echoed through my mind. I blinked. Where the hell did that come from?

"No… it's pointless." Gold sputtered.

"What the hell is that?" Emma asked.

"It poison. It's one of Hook's once making. There's no antidote on this… it's not from here." Gold said briefly glancing at me.

What did he mean not from here? And why the hell did he look at me.

"Hey hey hey there's gotta be some way we can save you." Neil said.

"There is, there is…"

"Storybrooke." Emma said. "There's magic there now, we need to get him back."

Magic?

"I'll get a car to take us." Mia said pulling out her phone.

"No no no, there's not enough time. We need something fast… The captain's ship." Gold said.

"The Jolly Roger instead of a car?" Mia said doubtfully.

"The fastest vessel in all the realms…" Gold said to her.

In all the realms….

"That's great but who's gonna captain it since the only guy qualified wants you died." Emma asked Gold.

Neil looked up at me. "Jade and I can do it."

That shocked us all. Mia and Emma looked at me as I stared at Neil like he was crazy.

"Bae…" Gold said.

He looked at Gold. "Yeah…we can do it."

"You know how to sail a pirate ship?" Emma asked him.

"Yeah." He said looking at her with a grimace.

"Enough!" I snapped glaring at everyone. "What the hell is wrong with you people?"

"Jade language." Mia snapped at me.

I glared at her. "Do you really believe this? I've never sailed a day in my life. And what all this crap about magic? This man is going to die if we don't get him to a hospital and ya'll are talking about taking him to a place that sounds like it came out of a mother goose nursery rhyme, on a creeps pirate ship! Are you all high?" I snapped.

Mia and Emma's eyes widened as they took a step back from me fear flashing through their eyes.

I took me a moment to register the sharp pain to my neck.

But as my vision got blurry and my body grew numb I knew without a doubt what had happened. I had been sedated.

I looked up at Mia to see tears in her eyes.

I glared at her. "How could you?" I whispered before darkness took over.

~Enemies and Playmates~

Mia's POV

It was him.

His eyes.

His voice.

His existence.

"You took Mila my love, my happiness and for that now, I'll take your life…" Killian hissed at Mr. Gold or rather rumplestilkin.

I stood frozen, this wasn't my Killian. This was a stranger.

Gone was his smile.

His laugh.

His warmth.

This was a stranger and yet I couldn't stop his name from falling from my lips in a whisper.

"Killian…"

He didn't acknowledge me, though I didn't expect him too.

Jade reacted, grabbing a bin and slamming it into the back of Killian's head.

I resisted the urge to scold her. She was doing the right thing, Killian needed to be knocked out.

He fell to the ground unconscious and my heart clenched in my chest.

I watched as Jade stood over Killian examining him and Emma rushed to Gold's side.

"Gold you alright?" Emma asked.

Neil rushed down the stairs. "What the hell is going on?"

"One of your dad's enemies found us." Emma said glancing at me briefly before glaring at Killian.

"Hook." Neil said at the same time I said. "Killian."

Emma looked between us with confusion. "You know him?"

I nodded slightly. Neil didn't even answer her though.

I stared at Killian face lost in my own emotions.

What was he doing here? Well obviously he was here to assassinate Mr. Gold…why did he leave me? No letter, no text. Nothing. Just vanished without a word.

I stared at his face, it was amazing really, he didn't even seem to have aged since the last time I saw him…

He seemed to stir.

His blue eye locked on Jade's.

"Y-You. Why are you here?" He sputtered, scooting back from her in fear.

I frowned did he know her? No that's not possible unless… I looked at Neil, he shot me a look.

One I did not like. It had 'I told you so' written all over it.

If Neil was right and Jade was really from his world, it made me curious who she was….what she was…

My eyes widened in shock as she kicked him in the face effectively knocking him out.

She turned to see us all staring at her, as she stared at us with a look of confusion like she was unaware of her actions.

I didn't like Gold's expression. He was smug. I cut my eyes at him. I had a feeling he knew more about Jade then he was letting on.

Emma looked suspicious and Neil wouldn't even meet her eyes.

I looked at Jade sadly. As much as I didn't want her to go to this Storybrooke place I knew I would have to take her back.

"Let's move Mr. Gold upstairs quickly." I said as I saw jade open her mouth to speak. I couldn't lie to her, I wouldn't, but I also couldn't answer her questions either…

Everyone nodded.

I gave Lux to Jade and sent her to Neil's apartment.

I helped Emma carry Killan upstairs while Neil helped Gold.

We found a place to put his unconscious body.

I laid him down as gently as I could.

"So?" Emma said looking at me.

"So…"

"What's going on with Jade?"

I shrugged. "Nothing more than teenage stuff."

I inwardly flinched at my little lie, but I didn't like the way Emma looked at Jade. She was just a child still, not any ones enemy. She wasn't a threat.

"You never told me she knew how to fight."

I waved it off. "I work NYPD, did you think she wouldn't?"

I inwardly flinched again, regardless of my job, I've never taught jade how to fight, or anything violent like what she displayed.

"I'm more interested in this place called Storybrooke."

Emma looked at me skeptically. "How much do you know already?"

I told her bits and pieces of what Neil told me, only enough for her to know that I knew, if she wanted to know more about Neil then she could ask him.

Emma sighed. "Well I could tell you the long story of how my son tracked me down and brought to Storybrooke, how I found out the mayor is the evil queen and my parents are snow white and prince charming and I'm the savior, how everyone in the town is someone from a fairytale…but were will be going back soon so you could just see all the magic for yourself." she grimaced.

"This little town sounds a bit draining."

"You have no idea."

We were half way to Neil's door when Emma stopped and looked at me. "Does Jade know anything?"

I looked her dead in her eyes. "No, and quite frankly I don't want her too."

Emma frowned but nodded. We walked into Neil's place and saw Neil placing Gold on the couch.

"Found a storage room and locked our stab happy pirate in there. He won't be causing anyone else any problems-" She said her blue eyes flashing in Jade's direction before going back to Neil and Gold. "And get this he had a map on him. It looks like he sailed his ship here."

"How'd he get a pirate ship in new York?" Neil and I asked at the same time.

"It's cloaked." Emma grimaced.

I watched as Emma walked over to Henry.

"Don't worry he's not going to hurt anyone."

Except Gold…but I didn't bother saying that out loud.

"But is Mr. Gold going to be ok?" Henry asked.

"He's going to be fine." Emma said with a smile.

I watched from the corner of my eye as Jade walked into a different room with lux, she was probably going to lay her down.

I went to help Neil when I heard Henry.

"Mr. Gold are you alright?" he asked.

I watched wide eyed as Gold grabbed him like he was a rag doll.

"You stay away from me. You caused this. You brought us back here." He hissed before pushing him away.

I glared at Gold, while Emma walked over to Henry.

"Hey kid, the batteries dead go in the room and see if you can find a charger ok?" Emma said handing him a phone.

"Ok." He replied before leaving. He didn't mention Gold's words or even spare him another glance…

"We need to get him to an ER fast." I said as I watched Jade walk next to Neil to get a closer look at Mr. Gold.

Blood and a yellow substance seemed to be leaking out of Mr. Gold.

"No… it's pointless." Gold sputtered.

"What the hell is that?" Emma asked disgusted.

"It poison. It's one of Hook's once making. There's no antidote on this… it's not from here." Gold said briefly glancing at Jade.

What did he mean not from here? And why the hell did he look at Jade?

"Hey hey hey there's gotta be some way we can save you." Neil said.

"There is, there is…"

"Storybrooke." Emma said looking at me. "There's magic there now, we need to get him back."

"I'll get a car to take us." I said pulling out my phone, I didn't want to go to Storybrooke but I guess we didn't have a choice.

"No no no, there's not enough time. We need something fast… The captain's ship." Gold said.

"The Jolly Roger instead of a car?" I asked doubtfully.

"The fastest vessel in all the realms…" Gold said to me seriously.

"That's great but who's gonna captain it since the only guy qualified wants you died." Emma asked Gold.

I saw Neil looking at Jade and my jaw clenched. Why couldn't they leave her out of this? "Jade and I can do it."

Emma and I stared at jade as she looked at Neil like he had lost his mind.

"Bae…" Gold said.

He looked at Gold. "Yeah…we can do it."

"You know how to sail a pirate ship?" Emma asked him.

"Yeah." He said looking at her with a grimace.

"Enough!" Jade snapped glaring at everyone. "What the hell is wrong with you people?"

"Jade language." I snapped at her. Regardless of the circumstances there was no reason at all for her to use such language.

She glared at me. "Do you really believe this? I've never sailed a day in my life. And what all this crap about magic? This man is going to die if we don't get him to a hospital and ya'll are talking about taking him to a place that sounds like it came out of a mother goose nursery rhyme, on a creeps pirate ship! Are you all high?" She snapped.

I watched the entire time she ranted as darkness seemed to ooze from her small body.

I took a step back, my eyes widening as gold summoned up his strength and stuck a syringe and needle into her neck.

It took her a moment to register what happened to her but when she did, she shot me the most betrayed look I had ever seen.

Tears entered my eyes as she glared at me.

"How could you?" she whispered before fainting.

Before she hit the floor I caught her. The darkness that seemed to ooze from her disappearing as soon as he pricked her.

~Enemies and Playmates~

I glared at Gold seeing as this was all his fault.

"No need to thank me dearie." Gold said sitting back on the couch.

"Good, because I wasn't." I snapped.

I moved Jade away from him and to a different chair.

Neil was texting on his phone.

"What are you doing?" Emma asked.

"Getting us a car." He answered.

"Thought you were suddenly a pirate and we going to take a ship." Emma sipped, which earned her a glare from me.

"Yeah well we still got to get his ass to the ship."

"So you know hook…" Emma trailed off

"It's a long story. Short version this world wasn't my first stop when I left home." Neil said.

"No?" Emma dug.

"If it was I'd be a couple hundred years old right by now."

His cell beeped. "That should be our ride. Hang tight." He said leaving.

"Emma you need to see this." Henry said bringing her cellphone.

"What is it kid?" Emma asked.

"It a text from David and Mary Margret. You need to read it now."

Emma read it before sighing. "Bad news Gold."

"What's worse than incurable poison?"

"I don't know you tell me. You have a dagger hidden in Storybrooke that's the source of all your power?" Emma asked.

"Get to your point." Gold snapped.

"Cora's after it. The only way to get it is to have David and Mary Margret get to it first."

"Let Cora try." Gold said with narrowed eyes.

"You can't seriously be willing to risk this? Not with your son coming back with you to Storybrooke." I said with a frown Emma nodding to show she agreed with me.

"Ms. Sanchez, Ms. Swan that dagger hasn't left my side for centuries, it's not about to now." Gold said with a sigh.

Emma stared at me before staring at Henry.

She shot me a pleading look.

I sighed placing Jade on the other couch before walking over next to gold.

"Here's the thing…your dying." I said bluntly. "And right now we are your best hope…well Emma is rather."

"Times come for you to start trusting someone…" Emma said taking over. "if I were you I'd start with family."

When gold spilled the beans on where his dagger was located, Emma and hennery stepped out to call her parents.

While Emma was away I stood over Gold.

"I want you to tell me why you tranquilized my daughter." I demanded coolly.

He chuckled darkly. "Why do I need to answer you, when you already know the answer to your own question…"

I shook my head. "I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not Emma or Neil, do not play your games or riddles with me."

"She's not from here, just like she is not your daughter. But I have a feeling you were aware of that already. She needed to be sedated because her power is dangerous when she's not in control." His eyes shined as he looked past me and too Jade.

"She is a spicy little one, it's good to know she didn't lose her fire…"

I glared at him. "What do you know about Jade?"

"I know that's not her name…" He said with a grin.

"Listen here you little imp-" I was cut off when Emma and Neil came back in, I guess it was time to go.

Off to Storybrooke.
