Hey guys! Here's, yet, another chapter! I won't be able to update that much for awhile since my family is coming to visit. I'll update whenever I can! Hope you all enjoy! Oh and to let you guys know, we're nearing the end of the story :( But don't worry, I might decide on making a few one-shots if you guys want. Let me know if you guys would enjoy some one-shots! It's been fun writing this story for you guys! :D

"What was that?" Vidarr asked.

"I-I don't know. But I'll check it out" Ayla answered, looking at the place where they had heard the screaming coming from with a worried look. The screams sounded a lot like her friends which made her worry even more.

Ayla transformed into a Night Fury and flew off to see what was happening with her friends. As she coming closer to their hideout, she saw a group of dragons fighting off some humans with weapons and traps. She quickly flew over and landed behind the dragons, letting out a fierce roar as a way to frighten the humans off. When the humans ran away, Ayla switched back into her human form.

"Guys, what happened?!" Ayla exclaimed.

Veila was the first to change back to her human form while the others were still transforming.

"Well, we were talking to Rusty and Ymke when suddenly these humans came in attacked us. We changed into our dragon forms to fight them back and that's when you came." She explained.

Ayla nodded and looked around. "Where's Ymke and Rusty?"

"Oh, well, um about that...they took them..." Veila said.

"What?!" Ayla exclaimed and looked at Veila with wide eyes.

Veila chuckled nervously and rubbed the side of her arm as Ayla began to pace around. After awhile of walking, Ayla looked up at her friends with determination in her eyes.

"We have to get them back." Ayla said.

"How are we going to do that?" Sigrid asked.

Meanwhile...

"Let us go!" Ymke yelled as she was being pulled by a man.

The man didn't respond and continued to trudge through the forest. Ymke looked over to where the man was bringing her and Rusty to and gasped at what she saw. It was none other than the ship that she was once on.

She tried her best to prevent the man from going closer to the boat, she didn't want to be anywhere near it. But unfortunately, the man was stronger than her and pushed her onto the deck. Ymke noticed a pair of feet in front of her and looked up to see none other than the captain of the ship, Ace.

"Um...hi...Ace..." Ymke greeted in a quiet tone.

"Ymke, where have you been?" Ace asked in a calm tone.

"O-Oh, you know, hunting halflings." Ymke lied.

"Oh really? Well, do you know what happened to that Halfling that was on the ship?" Ace asked.

"N-No sir." Ymke lied once more.

"That's a lie. You know, I've been watching you." Ace said as he began to walk around her.

"Y-You have?" Ymke asked.

Ace chuckled. "Yes I have. I have a question for you. Do you know anyone by the name of Ayla?"

Ymke silently gasped and looked at Ace with wide eyes.

Ace smiled. "So you have! Ha, so it's true. You have made friends with the beasts."

"They're not beasts!" Ymke yelled.

"Oh? Then why were they attacking us when we were just trying to get you back?" Ace asked.

"They didn't know that you guys weren't going to hurt them. They were trying to protect me and Rusty." Ymke explained.

Ace chuckled once again.

"What's so funny?" Ymke questioned.

"Nothing, just that you let those creatures trick you. Do you really think that they were trying to protect you?" Ace asked.

"Well yeah...I mean..." Ymke responded.

Just then, a loud roar could be heard from a distance and suddenly, a Night Fury landed on the ship. It curled its tail around Ymke and growled at the others.

"Ayla, what are you doing? You have to get out of here!" Ymke whispered.

"Ah! So this is Ayla." Ace said as he examined her. "Lovely to see you back."

Ayla roared at Ace and went closer to Ymke, tightening her grip on her friend even more. Her eyes had become slits and bared her teeth as she growled at anyone who came close. This caused Ace to let out a laugh.

"You don't scare me, I know your weaknesses." He explained.

Ayla tilted her head in confusion but suddenly felt drowsy when a piece of Dragon Nip was place on her head. She soon collapsed to the ground and fell into a peaceful sleep.

"Ayla! What did you do to her?" Ymke said.

"Simple, I just placed a piece of Dragon Nip on her nose, making her feel drowsy and eventually causing her to fall asleep." Ace explained, looking over at the sleeping Night Fury.

"Now, put them in a cage." He told the others before walking away.

"What?!" Ymke yelled before she suddenly felt something hit the back of her head and everything became black.

When Ymke had awoken, she felt a pain on the back of her head. "Ouch..." She whispered and looked around, noticing a familiar dragon figure lying down on the opposite side of the cage.

"Ayla, is that you?" Ymke asked.

The dragon let out a weak croon and looked at Ymke. Its eyes became wide and it smiled at Ymke who, in response, smiled back.

"Thanks for staying by my side back there." Ymke told her.

Ayla nodded and turned her head towards the only opening in the room when she heard a few roars. She smiled and turned back towards Ymke, who had also heard the series of roars.

"What was that?" Ymke asked.

"That was my dad...and pretty much the rest of the island..." Ayla answered, though she knew that Ymke couldn't understand her and looked back at the opening.

So it begins...
