Chapter: Unlock The Map
She's laying in a bed of seaweed, surrounded by flowering coral in beautiful shades of fiery orange and bright pink with brilliant blues… a shadow passes overhead, a school of fish swims past… There's a sound. Like a breath… it's a soft whisper… Týphōnë realizes it's the sound of the ocean… breathing.
"…come home…"
Týphōnë sits up. It's a garden, seaweed and sand and corals… but there's trees, too. Orchards… she glances up, there's a soft glow and more fish swimming past.
"…this is where we belong…"
Týphōnë looks around, trying to understand what she's seeing. She feels like she belongs here, like she fits so completely, every other place, the home she had thought was hers… those were all lies, just places that had offered her somewhere to be… until she was home.
"Týphōnë."
She knows the voice. She turns to the left and finds the shape of a woman haloed by a blue light. "Mother…?"
"…come home, Týphōnë…"
She struggles to get up, each time her feet slip, her hands are tangled in the seaweed so she tries to crawl but she slides back down, further from the woman. "Mother!"
"…find your way…the Pillars…"
"The Pillars?" Týphōnë feels a rush of anger. "The Pillars of Hercules? The Gods are Dead!" she smacks her fist into the seaweeds, now just mulch. There's a pain in her chest, like a bubble that finally bursts and she screams at the ground.
"We. Are. Gods."
Týphōnë draws in a deep breath. She feels the warm caress on her face, a gentle touch that glides down to her neck and then leaves.

Týphōnë slowly opens her eyes. For just a moment… its almost the same sky… until his shadow obstructs the view. She closes her eyes and turns her head, her hand slowly makes a fist and the ache is gone almost instantly. When she opens her eyes again, he's staring down at her. She can see his lips moving but there's a muffled echo in her ears so she's not sure what he's saying. Then she notices the soft touch of his hand, the gently glide of his fingers through her hair…
Dean's watching the drowsy shift of her eyes and frowns with worry. He's got her pretty much submerged in the water, making sure to wet her cheeks, forehead… and talking to her. Asking questions he wouldn't dare ask her in front of Sam. Geeky shit about her life back when; did they have toilets? Was there really a Spartacus? And had she ever met Cesar? Or what about Gods, had they existed or were they just fairytales, too? Had there really been a Hercules?
Týphōnë reaches up, she grabs his wrist and Dean watches the gaping hole from the knife finish healing. She takes a breath and there's a ripple all around them before water starts to bubble and rush. Dean's surprised shout is due to the push of water forcing him to his feet. He stumbles, losing his grip on her, then the water just falls away to splash around his knees and then he's staring at Týphōnë as water slowly pools back into the pond all around her.
She looks around, trying to catch any remnants of what that had been. The voice…that woman… that had been her Mother. Týphōnë has no doubts about that. She had told her to come home, and that place had felt so familiar, it was like an ache in her chest now. The loss of it… of home.
"Hey, you listening?" Dean sloshes forward and snaps his fingers in her face. "You ok?"
Týphōnë finally focuses on Dean. She glares at him. "You broke the connection to them."
"What?" Dean frowns, not a clue what the hell she just said to him, though her tone was plenty clear.
Týphōnë turns towards the barking Hound and finds the other Hunter waiting at the edge. She has to find her way home and now she has a place to start.
"Whoa…" Dean watches her take that first step and the second and by the third step she's walking on water. He debates following her lead... but then just lifts his boot out of the water and plants it down… "Fuck!"
Týphōnë doesn't turn back at the splash of water Dean makes. She barely listens to the curses and then he shouts when she has a gentle current shove him to the shore at Sam's feet.
"What the hell, lady?!" Dean gets up, glaring at Týphōnë who steps out of the water and she's completely dry.
"I need to find The Pillars of Hercules." She ignores the glare but when Dean sloshes forward, she closes the distance between them and grabs the front of his shirt. Dean startles, he's got hold of her wrist and just stares as the water rushes over their hands. He still doesn't let go of her wrist when his clothes are dry.
"Uh," Sam clears his throat and takes a hesitant step towards them. He reaches to the shred of her sweatshirt but the Hound snarls in warning and Sam decides to take a step away. From what he could see, there's no scar, not even a faint bruise, nothing at all but smooth skin… "So, uh, you knew they were there."
She doesn't respond and Dean is annoyed enough to give her wrist a sharp tug. That gets her attention, and she turns narrowed eyes to him. "I smelled them."
"Yeah, the demons but what about the chics?" he rolls his eyes when she just glares at him because she doesn't get the slang. "The slice girls. The women trying to kill you."
"They are Scyths." Týphōnë pulls her wrist from Dean's grip and turns away from them. She starts for the car and sees the streaks of blood on the shiny black paint. It plays out in her mind again, the blades the Scyth's used, their faces an echo of the warriors they had been in her time.
"Uh, wait." Sam calls after her. He shoots a glance at his brother but Dean's just glaring at her retreating form. Sam hurries after her, and the Hound streaks past them, leaps over the fence and waits.
Týphōnë forms another water xiphos and slices the barb wire in her way. She stomps towards the Impala and halts at the back passenger door. Her blood is all over the leather seat, on the floor… Týphōnë takes a step back and her eyes find the streaks of blood on the window. She raises both arms, hands open wide. She closes her eyes and with a sharp tug of her hands there's a wave of water from the pond rushing towards her.
Dean shouts in surprise and warning but the water just goes around her. One half washes over his Baby and the other splashes into the back seat. "What the hell are you doing?!" she's going to ruin the leather. That's his first thought, and he's running towards them knowing he can't stop her.
Týphōnë drops her hands and the water splashes in pink puddles all around the Impala. Dean's boots get wet, again and he's cursing. When he looks inside, his hands slap down on the leather seat to find it dry. And clean. Not a drop of blood is left.
"Take me to where I may find The Pillars of Hercules."
Before Dean can yell at her, Sam steps forward. "Why? What's so important about them?"
Týphōnë hesitates. She needs their help to get home but she doesn't know if she can trust them to help her get there. They've been attacked by demons and now the Scyth as well.
"Hey!" Dean grabs her arm. "You want our help, you start talking." He turns to the snarling Hound and glares at him too. "Back off, Cujo. I will put more than just one cap in your ass." Right now, he's got zero patience for either of them.
"Not here." Týphōnë intervenes. "You both spoke of a place to keep me from the demons. I will tell you there." She pulls from Dean's grip and takes her seat in the back. With a slight nod of her head, the Hound knocks into Dean and jumps into the back seat where it curls up half on the seat, its head in Tÿ's lap and the rest of him on the floor.
