Gumball was puzzled. He didn't know why, but Penny had been ignoring him lately. Ever since he found out her true form... ever since they kissed, she just stayed away from him. He didn't know why she was ignoring him. All he knew was that it hurt. Alot. He tried talking to her at school, but she would just ignore him and walk away quickly. He tried calling her and she even picked up the phone once, but once she heard his voice she hung up. He couldn't under stand why. Did he do something wrong. Did she regret coming out of her shell. Did she regret... the Kiss. He had to find out.

Gumball opened his locker and started shoving books in his backpack. It was the end of the day at elmore high and everyone was gone. Gumball had told Anias and Darwin to go home without him and that he needed some time alone. He really did want to be alone. He was depressed from being ignored by the girl he loved. He didn't know why Penny was ignoring him, but it felt like being stabbed to death. He just had to find out why. He closed his locker and picked up his backpack. He foud himself stairing at Penny who was doing the exact same thing. She looked up and their eyes met.

"Penny..", Gumball started with pain in his voice. "Please talk to me."

Penny looked down. Then she turned around and quickly walked away.

Gumball had enough of this. He dropped his backpack and started to chase after her. Penny turned her head and saw Gumball running after her. Her face was pained as she started running away.

"PENNY WAIT!" Gumball shouted.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" Penny yelled back.

This made Gumball even more determined to catch her. She was pretty fast though. It was a good thing he got rid of his bag. Penny turned a sharp corner. He tried to turn it too but slipped and rammed into the wall. Pain shot through his arm, yet he kept running after her. She started slowing down until finally Gumball caught her. He gripped her arm and pulled her close to him. She instantly broke out in tears.

"Penny tell me whats wrong, why won't you talk to me?" Gumball asked softly with tears in his eyes.

Penny looked at Gumball. She was crying so hard she couldn't talk. All she did was hug him before she spoke.

"I.. didn't.. want.. to hurt.. you." She said quietly between sniffles.

"Hurt me how?" Gumball asked. He was now crying himself.

It took a while for Penny to say something.

"What my Dad said about me being unstable was true, I was afraid I could loose by temper and go on a rampage again. And I was afraid I would hurt you." She explained. She burst in tears again and hugged Gumball hard.

Gumball didn't know what to say. She was avoiding him so she wouldn't hurt him. He felt like one pain was healed but a new one took it's place. This new pain was from seeing Penny, a strong, intelligent girl, broken down because she was scared of hurting him. Gumball knew what he had to do.

"Penny listen, I could be beaten to a pulp or worst and that pain woldn't come close to the one I feel now. I can't live without you. With you out of the picture, I wouldn't function. I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't sleep, I wouldn't drink, with you gone. I would just die. You are light of my life, and seeing you all broken, makes me want to just... hurt myself." He hesitated. "Penny I love you too much to see you like this."

Penny looked at Gumball with a small smile. Something Gumaball hadn't seen in what felt like years. He couldn't help but smile back.

"You really mean that Gumball?" Penny asked.

"Of course I do." Gumball said.

Penny smiled. She wrapped her hands around his neck and pressed her head against his.

" I love you too Gumball Watterson."

She pulled Gumball in for a kiss and they stood there until they had to break away to breath. They began to walk home hand in hand. Gumball totally forgetting his backpack.
