A conversation on the Phone

"Edmund! We've got to go!" Peter shouted by the door, while grabbing his keys. "I'm coming! Just getting my book!" Edmund shouted from upstairs. Peter goes into the kitchen where he sees Lucy on the computer and Susan getting a glass of milk. "I hope you don't mind me taking Edmund to soccor practice. It is my turn to take him." said Peter to Susan. Susan looked at him, closing the fridge she nodded. "Sure, just bring him back." she joked. "Ha-ha." Peter sighed. "At least I passed my driving licence on the first go." Peter teased back, which was actually true. "Would you too shut up? I'm trying to get hold of someone to get the internet back on." said Lucy, holding the phone down. "Alright." said Peter. Edmund came rushing in with his soccor ball and book. "I'm ready Pete." said Edmund, getting excited. "What book are you reading?" asked Susan. "Summer Falls by Amelia Williams." Edmund said quickly. "Nice." Susan said and placed her cup of milk down on the kitchen bench beside Lucy's computer. "What chapter are you on?" asked Lucy, placing the phone in her hand. "Ten." Edmund replied as Peter walked out of the house.

"Eleven is the best. You'll cry your eyes out." Lucy said. "Edmund! Come on!" Peter shouted. Edmund left and Lucy returned to her phone. "Oh, come on! Just answer." she said. "Pick It up. Pick it up. Pick it up." she mutted under her breath. Lucy stabs at her laptop to get the available Wi-Fi list up. Just two appear to be up. Pevensie_Family and the weird symbols. Lucy sees Susan leave upstairs to her room. "Hello?" a voice replies. "Ah!" Lucy says whizzing away with excitement. "Hello. I can't find the internet." she says. "Sorry?" replies the man. "It's gone. The internet." Lucy says.

"Can't find it anywhere. Where is it?" she asks. "The internet?" he asked. "Yes the internet." Lucy says. "Why don't I have the internet?" Lucy said, getting impatient. "It's twelve oh seven." he said. "I've got half past three. Am I phoning a different time zone?" Lucy asked. "Yeah, you really sort of are." said the man. "Will it show up on the bill?" asked Lucy. "Oh, I dread to think. Listen, where did you get this number?" he asked. "The woman in the office wrote it down for me as I was leaving school." Lucy explained. "It's a help line, isn't it? She said it's the best help line out there." Lucy said. "In the universe, she said." Lucy added. "What woman? Who was she?" he asked intensely. "I don't know. The office lady in the school... so... Why isn't the internet here? Shouldn't it sort of be there?" Lucy asked. "Look, listen I'm not actually, it isn't. You have clicked on the Wi-Fi button, yeah?" he said, getting very impatient just like Lucy. "Hang on. Wi-Fi." Lucy said taking her time. "Click on the Wi-Fi, you'll see a list of names. You will see one you recognise." said he. "It's asking me for a password." Lucy said.

Lucy suddenly hears footsteps of Susan, walking into the kitchen. "Is it okay if I go and see Rose? You can tell Peter if he gets back." Susan said. "Sure. What's the password for the internet?" Lucy asked. " 3." Susan said. "How am I supposed to remember that!?" Lucy shouted as Susan left the house. "Just a moment. Run you clever boy and remember one two three..."
